Reviews for Boscolo Nice

Room smells of sewage and beach club is NOT included

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Trip ruined. Please view all reviews before staying at this hotel. I even emailed a few times about the reviews and the hotel reassured me that our stay would be good… it hasn’t been. When we arrived we were welcomed by a friendly team but it went downhill from there… we noticed the room had a sewage smell that progressively got worse. The hotel hadn’t done anything about it after we mentioned it in the morning - to returning to the room in the afternoon. We then planned a lovely beach afternoon to cool off and we understood the beach club was part of the hotel. This is NOT the case. We asked at reception before heading down to the beach to be greeted with a €80 bill. We only wanted to go for a couple of hours so obviously wasn’t prepared to pay this. I actually booked this hotel over other hotels I looked at because of the beach element.

A perfect short break

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Just returned home after a four-night stay and had a wonderful time. Rooms are spacious, quiet and very clean with huge beds and a large shower. The air conditioning was also very effective. The pool was nice with lovely views. The hotel is conveniently located with a tram stop outside that can take you to and from the airport. I really enjoyed the little touches like macaroons in the room on arrival and chocolates at night. The staff were very friendly and I would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Wonderful stay here for a few nights in September. We had a room facing Victor Hugo with a balcony but didn’t hear much of the street noise during the night. The entire stay was wonderful and the stand out has to be the staff. We were welcomed by Mariam at reception who was absolutely wonderful - she took us to our room where we were given a welcome bottle of Prosecco waiting for us in an ice bucket in the room along with chocolates which was a lovely touch. The room was great - very spacious with exceptionally cool air con. The location was fantastic - within easy walking distance of the main eating areas - bars etc and about 20 mins to the old town - as two females we felt very comfortable walking around in the evening though we obviously stuck to the busier streets. The rooftop pool was lovely - well heated and not busy at all ( we stayed closer to end of season which suited us as we avoided the crowds) Again, huge thanks to the staff on checking out who waited with us outside for our Uber (we didn’t ask for this) - he just wanted to ensure that we got in the taxi safely without us needing to carry our luggage - when we said that we were happy to wait and carry our own luggage he said “no, we do anything and everything for our clients” - again, very nice touch and a huge focus on customer service. A massive thank you to the wonderful staff at this great hotel - we will be recommending you and when we return to Nice, we will be booking with you again. Thanks again.

No AirConditioning, hot and sleepless nights.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

First, the biggest issue on my mind as i check out of this hotel… there is literally no meaningful air conditioning in this hotel. We tried two different rooms, and the front desk said that they cannot lower the temperature below 21C (70F) which normally would sound okay except I dont think it was even maintaining that temperature. Nights were hot, and opening the windows meant LOUD noise from the cars in the street. Five nights, two room changes and not a single good night’s rest. The Pros: 1) This hotel is in an excellent location on a safe looking street and walking distance to all key areas. 2) Very good breakfast spread. 3) Clean, nice lobby and friendly staff. I would not stay here again because of the air conditioning issue.

The rooms are okay but not good for dining.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The temperature was not able to be controlled in the room. The rooms were either too hot or too cold. It was also difficult to control the water temperature in the shower. Barking dogs were allowed in the restaurant. Do not eat at Angelos Restaurant. The prices are much too expensive for the food and they charged 9 euros for still water.
