The former residence of the Swedish Royal Family, Chateau Eza is an enchanting 14th century hotel set in the thousand-year-old French medieval village of Eze. Perched 1,300 feet above the Mediterranean Sea, this exquisite ten-room member of Lifestyle Hotels & Resorts opened its doors again in April 2004 following an extensive renovation by the Stein Group, which has added up-to-the-moment amenities without sacrificing the hotel's medieval charms. Most rooms feature stone fireplaces and private balconies with breathtaking views of the Cote d'Azur, while the Gastronomic Restaurant boasts some of the most panoramic dining in the region.

We decided to stay at Château Eza for three nights to kick off our honeymoon, and it was truly the best decision. The property is gorgeous, and the entire experience was made even more special by the incredibly attentive and welcoming staff. Everything was thoughtfully done and felt perfect from start to finish. We stayed in the Presidential Suite, which was stunning and made our stay even more memorable. The views, atmosphere, and charm of the property were everything we hoped for. We also had dinner at the Château Eza restaurant, which was phenomenal when it came to the ambiance and service. The food was beautifully presented, although some of the dishes were a little on the salty side for our taste. Aside from that we had an amazing experience and would absolutely recommend Château Eza for a romantic and unforgettable stay.

World class location - and that's what you are paying for. Room was really nice, couldn't be bettered, and the view from the bar and restaurant is breathtaking. Food and drink is excellent, and the hotel boasts a very impressive carte des vins. Staff are extremely polite and helpful - though they could check more frequently, perhaps, if more attention is required at the tables.... Be aware, however, that all extras are significantly overpriced - wine especially, food, cocktails, etc., If you eat and drink in the hotel while you are a guest, be prepared for a sizeable extra bill. In other hotels of this calibre - and even at a lower price - elsewhere in the world, things like having your towels made into a swan shape, with rose petals sprinkled on the bed come standard - Chateau Eza charges a huge premium - and I do mean huge - for such.

I was very disappointed with our experience. We found a hair in the dessert, which is completely unacceptable. What made the situation even worse was how it was handled by the staff. The waiter did not apologize or show any concern. The dessert also wasn’t removed from the bill. It was only after I specifically asked for it to be removed that they offered just a 50% discount on the cake. Customer service is just as important as food quality, and in this case, both hygiene and the response to the issue fell far below expectations. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves both its food safety standards and the way customer complaints are handled.
