About the Hotel

At the Hotel La Pérouse, you are in an extremely uncommon place; it's the address you will keep to yourself so that it doesn't become too popular and too busy. The view on the Angel Bay is spectacular: it will take your breath away. Located in a unique setting, nestled on the Castle Hill, just at the end of the promenade des Anglais, a short walk from the market of the Cours Saleya in the old Nice, just behind the port. At the foot of the hotel, the "Castel" private beach will welcome you for a dip in the sea or to sunbathe. Under the lemon trees and in the exclusive and cool atmosphere of a genuine Mediterranean garden, our restaurant Le Patio offers exquisite lunches and dinners reminiscent of a refined Provencal cuisine. sed on fresh farm products, you will love the refined cuisine overflowing with freshness and your taste buds will travel through these Southern aromas. On the most beautiful perched terrace of Nice, surrounded by century-old lemon trees and the Riviera’s million fragrances, you will fall for this serene haven. Our chef focuses on seasonal products and this is why the restaurant menu may vary depending on the seasons.

Reviews for Hotel La Perouse

Beautiful location but not worth the money.

Amazing location, with a beautiful view of the bay and so many tourist attraction right in the door step. I’ve never paid £700 a night for a room before, and I’ve stayed in luxury private villas in madilves, Mauritius and Greece. This was not worth that room rate. Whilst it was a comfortable room, there was no 5 star service, we had a terrace which was quite industrial with air con units and extractor fans blowing food smells on you, and roof tops in the way of the view so you would’ve been better off being higher up with a balcony. The breakfast was basic but cost £60, wouldn’t recommend. It’s a shame because the location was great and whilst it didn’t ruin an amazing holiday, it’s not right that they’re charging so much.

A wonderful stay

The staff are exceptionally friendly, helpful and efficient. The restaurant serves superb food and the breakfasts are also first class. The only negative would be if your mobility was moderately impaired. We didn't see any access to the restaurant which would accommodate a wheelchair. The room was immaculate, and the service and cleaning impeccable. Thank you for the very happy four nights we spent there.

Good location, but hotel needs work, wouldn't go back

Superior double room has nothing superior about it. Room decor dated, dirty and in need of refurbishment. Double room had a connecting door impacting privacy, could hear people next door. No private balcony, its a long terrace shared with others. Bathroom is old and lots of scraps and marks on door, shower head is old and can't be adjusted, you need to hold it to get any benefit from it. The bed had a split in the middle like 2 single beds pushed together which was uncomfortable. The noise levels were high given the room is close to the restaurant so breakfast set up starts at 6.30am and then dinner noise continues until 11pm making the room unsuitable if you plan to sleep. The room requires you to use 2 steps of steps so not suitable for people with accessibility issues. I did ask hotel to change the room but it wasn't possible. Paying approx 650 euros a night was definitely not worth it. Staff were nice which is why the score isnt zero.

Great location and service

The location was amazing and the service before and during the stay was impressive. Some small things were distractors - room had a musky smell, there was a faint smoke smell at varying times, and the configuration with elevators.

A Beautiful waterfront location with walking access much of the city

It was our second stay at this classic hotel; and it again was very pleasant. We had two spacious rooms with balconies; and the staff were very pleasant and helpful: from the Bellman and the Reception team to the Housekeeping, and the Food & Beverage team.
