2nd visit for us this August … exceptional service & standards

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Our family’s favourite hotel for over 20 years, It was fabulous before the refurbishment, but it is absolutely superb now following the recent upgrade. For me, the staff make any hotel, and when you arrive, it’s all about the welcome and the greeting you receive, Loyalty is important to me too, We could choose to stay anywhere, but we choose to return to this hotel time and time again — and that says everything. The staff are wonderful in every area of the hotel and, hopefully, in time they’ll all be wearing their individual name badges so we can give them the recognition they so deserve by mentioning them by name. The Concierge team are exceptional — super friendly, obliging, knowledgeable and kind, We met Nicholas who was incredibly attentive and even knew our family name, which was such a lovely personal touch, Lorenzo on Reception was warm, welcoming and kind to us & our check in was flawless & quick, It’s so appreciated when staff make you feel genuinely welcome. A special thank you to David who made sure everything was smooth when we checked out today, He was super friendly, and I also saw him interacting with other guests his persona was so genuine and caring. On our most recent trip, we met Julia who was serving around the pool, What a pleasure it was to meet her, Another genuinely kind, friendly and warm person, She even greeted us on our last morning at breakfast, which was such a lovely touch, A lovely girl, and we really hope to see her again when we return, Thank you to all the staff for your kindness, hard work and exceptional service, It is your dedication and the way you treat your guests that keeps people like us wanting to return and stay with you over and over again. Cleanliness throughout the hotel is outstanding, The facilities are second to none, Housekeeping is incredible including the turn down service, which we absolutely love, Nothing is ever too much trouble from this team. And thank you for extending your kindness through Guest Relations, We thoroughly enjoyed our Prosecco and chocolate cake — what a lovely and thoughtful touch, Both of our trips were wonderful, and we honestly wouldn’t choose to stay anywhere else when we travel to Nice, Thank you to everyone who makes this hotel so special, We look forward to returning again and again.

Another Outstanding Stay at One of Our Favorite Hotels in the World

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

The start of our second stay in 12 months at Palais de la Méditerranée was rough due to the gross incompetence of members of the Hyatt Reservations team, but the hotel more than compensated for the error that was not their own. We had spent hours on the phone arranging upgrades to a suite for the duration of our stay, confirming arrangements with multiple members of Hyatt Reservations on multiple evenings because the reservations team members we spoke with consistently had a very difficult time understanding our request and provided contradictory and unclear confirmations. After we finally got written confirmation of the upgrades we believed we were all set. For some reason--unclear to us as well as the front desk staff at the Palais--3 days before arrival Hyatt downgraded us to a king size room for the first night of our stay. No notification (or justification) was provided to us until we arrived at checkin. The Palais staff, including Charlotte in Guest Services, Olga at the front desk, and the manager on duty, managed to get us back into the suite we thought we had, provided free breakfasts throughout our stay for the trouble, repeatedly checked in to make sure everything was going well and to offer other help and suggestions. In fact, they nearly made us feel bad for the extraordinary concern they exhibited for our initial stress and inconvenience! Our previous stay (Sept 2025) was what drew us back in 2026 and the hotel easily lived up to those warm memories. The Prestige Suite, with unobstructed views of the sea and an outstanding layout for vacation, work and entertaining (we did all 3), is one of my favorite hotel rooms in the world. The room was kept pristine by the excellent housekeeping staff and everyone throughout the hotel was continuously welcoming, friendly and hospitable. The location is unmatched in Nice--across the Promenade from the beach, a half-kilometer from the Old Town, an easy hike up the hill to museums and a quick Uber ride to the port if you're up for hiking along the coast to Villefranche. And again, I come back to the warm and professional staff--just a real pleasure that elevated the enjoyment we took from the hotel itself. One last anecdote from our stay: our daughter and fiance stayed at the Hotel Negresco down the street and following a bout with an upset stomach, requested chicken soup or something similar from the hotel. Room service at the Negresco could only come up with the gazpacho that was on the menu, so I tried the Palais room service at 1030 pm. No chicken soup on the menu, I was told, but perhaps they could make some: he would call right back to confirm. And he did, to offer a vegetable soup instead. I called back 3 minutes later to ask for the soup in a to go container and room service told me they didn't have such containers--but he would find something. And 5 minutes later he called back to say delivery was on the way. In a 5 star hotel I expect a little creative problem solving, even around midnight, and the Palais provided it.

Exceptional stay on the Promenade des Anglais

We had a truly fantastic stay at Hyatt Regency Nice Palais de la Méditerranée. * Location & Property: The setting right on the Promenade is unbeatable, offering effortless access to the beach and Old Town alongside classic Art Deco charm. * Rooms: Spacious, impeccably maintained, and very comfortable. * Breakfast: The morning buffet was outstanding, featuring great variety and high-quality local selections overlooking the sea. * Service: What truly elevated our visit was the hospitality. A sincere thank you to David, Sara, Geoffrey, and the entire team for their warmth, attentiveness, and professionalism throughout our stay. We look forward to returning on our next visit to Nice!

Great location and staff; newly renovated hotel a block from the beach

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My family had two separate stays, and I'm thankful for the upgrade for the second stay. The hotel charges a lot for its prime location, and in my view, it's a 4 or 5 star experience, even at the high price point. Management is working hard to provide a good experience. For our first stay, one criticism was that the shower could not get hot enough for me (water pressure is also not very robust), but this was not an issue with our suite in our second stay. Breakfast may not be great, but it's very good. Rooms are clean and nice. Staff are almost uniformly good, with special kudos to Greg at the concierge desk (who quickly booked a new flight to Paris when EasyJet canceled our flight the day before the flight) and Antonia at breakfast who was very helpful; the front desk people were also very good. My wife said she had trouble sleeping because of nearby noise; I did not have an issue. (TripAdvisor should excise reviews for former Hyatt Regency that were pre-renovation.)
