Inspired by traditional Omani construction techniques using local stones, the Alila Jabal Akhdar creates a uniquely relaxing environment, from the pool to the spacious suites that look out to mesmerising views of the cliff and mountains. Within the stone exteriors, the resort’s minimalist style blends warmth and colours that reflect the region’s culture. Although an uncommon travel destination, the luxury and adventure of Oman awaits you at the Alila Jabal Akhdar.

Nice hotel, fantastic food, service was mixed. Training of some of the waiters left much to be desired. Average language skills. Room was okay. Tour guide was a schoolkid with little knowledge and experience. Value for money poor.

A stunning, beautifully maintained property: the website photos very accurately depict both the external landscape as well as the property itself. Truly breathtaking. We stayed in the second floor Jabal Terrace view rooms (80 and 81), easily accessible to the main building. We were very graciously welcomed as Hyatt Globalists by Tracy, manager of the front staff. The resort was the perfect place for a relaxing 3 nights. We loved the Via Ferrata excursion (shout out to Adil, a really great guide— very patient and encouraging) and the high quality Shimano mountain bikes, freely available to ride around the property. Stargazing set up was very comfortable, with giant beanbags and blankets set out. We saw the rings of Saturn from the hotel telescope! We also enjoyed the serenity of the spa, quietness of the rooms, and stunning views from the enormous outdoor terrace and the balcony. Now, the food. We ate a spectacular breakfast each day, in which we could order as many dishes as we wanted from the menu (and every dish, savory or sweet, was scrumptious); dinner at Juniper, the only full-service restaurant, was utterly delicious. My favorite dish is the Thai red curry…wow! We also ate once at Rose Lounge and also really enjoyed the meal. On one day, we drove down to the Anantara to compare the two experiences and to pick up the Three Villages hiking trail (about 30 minutes down the mountain from the Alila). I am so glad we chose the nature-focused serenity of the Alila, with its much more jaw dropping location. We found the very well-paved mountain roads and switchbacks extremely easy to navigate with our 4x4 Toyota Prado rental car, though do be careful of blinding sun exposure driving down the mountain not long after sunrise. The sun going down at 8 AM was literally the only challenging part of our drive. All in all, what an amazing property this is. Great location, beautiful rooms and grounds and excellent, helpful staff. The one and only suggestion I have is to expand the size of the gym and add additional equipment. Other than that, this property is perfection.

Gorgeous hotel with stunning views, fabulous amenities and very comfortable, well decorated rooms. The massages at the spa are also not to be missed! Would be a five star experience but the service at the restaurant and bar could be extremely slow and items we ordered were occasionally forgotten about.

From check in to our final breakfast, our experience at the Alila Jabal Akhdar exceeded our expectations. The number of activities were plentiful, the facilities stunning, the food diverse and memorable, and the service impeccable. We will cherish our memories from our stay forever.

Just a really wonderful experience from start to finish - We stayed for 2 days over Christmas 2025. The hotel was so beautifully decorated and had a tonne of festive touches (Christmas cookie decorating, stocking on our door Christmas morning with goodies etc...). We did a few paid activities such as Via Ferrata which was wonderful and felt very safe. We also did a few free activities like hiking and stargazing - the hikes were really well marked and the hotel provides pick up/drop off service to the trail heads. Stargazing was awesome! The hotel provides heaters and blankets so we were really comfortable. We really enjoyed watching the sunset on the outside patio of the Rose Lounge where again. blankets and heaters are provided for comfort. Cannot recommend enough 100/10!
