Inspired by traditional Omani construction techniques using local stones, the Alila Jabal Akhdar creates a uniquely relaxing environment, from the pool to the spacious suites that look out to mesmerising views of the cliff and mountains. Within the stone exteriors, the resort’s minimalist style blends warmth and colours that reflect the region’s culture. Although an uncommon travel destination, the luxury and adventure of Oman awaits you at the Alila Jabal Akhdar.

This hotel is just beautiful and situated fantastic by the canyon. Rooms are pretty decorated and surroundings amazingly kept. Can recommend joining the sunrise yoga and especially the stargazing which was the best we ever tried. Why the 4 out of 5 stars: - food and drinks are simply too expensive. If you miss happy hour - which is half price - then an Aperol Spritz is outrageous 35 USD (including tax and 8% service charge). And a coke is more than 8 USD. This is, despite understanding it’s a luxury resort - simply not ok! - Food is ok - but not fantastic. We had better Arabic food in most local restaurants we visited on our trip. We were four people and ended up spending 1.100 USD on two dinners, some drinks and one lunch - within buying more than a few glasses of wine! This is crazy for Oman prices. - Last thing - staff in restaurants seemed a bit under educated. Very friendly and positive - but kept forgetting our orders. I think restaurant management should spend time on training. All in all - can surely recommend the hotel - but bring your wallet :-)

We had a two night stay in this beautiful hotel. The location is breathtaking. The hotel itself was very beautiful inside and out and our room was wonderfully appointed. The bed was hard, for our taste but when we asked for a mattress topper it was sorted within minutes. The staff are attentive and friendly. There are many activities you can join in, free or paid for. We joined the stargazing but it was rather cloudy!!! We were a little disappointed with the food. When you are paying over £1000 a night the food should match the standard, in our view it didn’t. It wasn’t dreadful by any means but wasn’t of the same standard as the hotel. We also had two instances where we chose bottles of wine only to be told they didn’t have them. We didn’t feel this was acceptable in an establishment such as this. Everything else was great. The infinity pool is stunning and the perfect temperature. Would we stay again, yes. Would we recommend a friend to stay, yes. It was a memorable stay and we’re glad we went. Note: take good trainers/hiking boots

Food was exceptionally good. One of the most delicious and beautifully presented meals we had in Oman. Personalisation, and dedication of the staff made a huge difference. The location was breathtaking and engagement of guests with well planned acitivies and trained staff.

Amazing Hotel with beautiful surroundings and staff that goes over and above our expectations. Stars are so close from up there that you feel like just lying outside watching stars. We didnt have enough time to enjoy the spa or swimming pool but we cant wait to visit this amazing hotel again.
