A very beautiful place, top-notch service, there are reefs nearby where you can see coral fish. I want to mention one of the best bartenders, Gopal, who makes amazing cocktails and is very welcoming and friendly. I definitely come here.

We had a wonderful holiday, the resort was amazing, and the staff was exceptional. Everything that was promised was delivered. Snorkelling with sharks and turtles, fishing and trolling days my boys will never forget. We had some issues with our villa, which were dealt with immediately. An upgrade to a water villa was done within the day, without us moving our stuff - it was taken care of by our wonderful butler, who managed to "mirror-move" everything.

We had a wonderful holiday at Iru Fushi and it really is a beautiful island however, there were some details that let it down hence us giving 4 stars. On arrival in to Male, the transfer to the sea plane terminal was smooth. We were advised we would need to wait 2 hours for our sea plane. Whilst a little frustrating, we were ok with this and relaxed in the lounge. Its a nice clean lounge with soft drinks and some snacks. The communication in the lounge wasn't great as to when we would go to our plane etc. 2.5 hours later, we were still left in the lounge so I was asking the staff when we were leaving. They advised they were waiting for other flights to land in Male with other passengers first, to then fill the seaplane (max 15 people). This narrative continued for 4 HOURS! We had been in the lounge for 4 hours now, tired from an 11 flight previously and staff giving no comms. When we finally got on the seaplane and landed at Iru Fushi, it had taken 6 hours from landing in Male to getting to the resort which is unacceptable. Staff at the island were apologetic but it wasn't their fault. Our Butler was Hnin who was lovely. She was calm, pleasant and had lots of information to give us. We were shown to our beach villa which was clean, huge, very well equipped and had a lovely beach view. We were tired from a long day travelling so had some food in the buffet which was fresh, hot and a great authentic selection. We had drinks at the bar and went to our room just before 10pm ready to crash for the night... no such luck. At 10pm, there was blasting of music so so loud. The bass was really low and loud also. It was coming from the large stage on the beach which I believe was there for NYE celebrations. I called Guest Services who advised the music goes on each night until around midnight-1am. Whilst we are not early sleepers, club level loud music until 1am every night is not my idea of a relaxing holiday. We were moved the next day to a water villa by way of an apology for the noise and 4 hour seaplane wait - but we could only stay there for 3 nights. After that we were asked to pay a $400 per night fee. We had paid over £10,000 GBP for the holiday and so did not wish to do so. With such loud music that would go on for at least another 2 hours, we decided to get up and go back out for a drink ourselves. Much to our dismay, the music was blaring with an audience of zero! There were no guests watching the DJ or dancing. There were a few guests at the inside bar but no-one around the main stage. It just seemed so pointless. The evening entertainment left a lot to be desired in general. It wasn't very well organised, performers sort of stood around the place, the music was always so loud that the bar staff couldn't even hear your drink order! This area definitely need work. The evening DJ and sax player at Reflections was super. We really enjoyed that are wished it went on throughout the even instead of just sundown. BBQ beach lobster experience wasn't great. We were AI so only paid a $120 supplement but even so, it was overpriced. The buffet was the same as the restaurant, just with the addition of some lobsters so I wouldn't recommend that. Onsite little shop was reasonably priced with some nice souvenirs - better and cheaper than at Male airport! The ice cream shop wasn't great. Ice cream was low quality with a poor selection of synthetic flavours. The water villa was again spotless, well equipped and had wonderful sea views. The crystal clear lagoon had plentiful marine life also. We did the manta ray trip which was stunning. The excursions are pricey and I think probably overpriced - $700 for a half day trip for 2 people. The staff on board were knowledgeable and friendly. All of the restaurants at the resort are fabulous and cannot be faulted. The Asian was delicious, fresh and spicy! It was nice to have the option to go there for lunch too. The Indian was delicious, again fresh hot and tasty. Our favourite was Trio with fab sea views and French/Italian menus. The food was great quality with the chefs taking pride in their work although it was hard to get a reservation there. The food at the pool bar adults pool was also good. Varied and well made. The quality of drinks was fantastic with many premium brands, cocktails made with fresh fruits and juices and a real level of care from the staff to make sure they got your drink just how you wanted it. After the water villa, we were moved back to a 'quieter' beach villa. Unfortunately, the air con was broken and so made a loud humming noise constantly, and the villa wasn't actually private. It was a little group of 5 villas with the pools all next to each other and no bali bed as we had in the first villa. Because of the air con, we had to move again! Whilst the staff moved our cases, we still had to keep packing and unpacking. For a luxury 5* resort with such a high price tag, I don't think this is right. Rooms should be checked before offering to guests. Our final beach villa was stunning, beautifully private with bali bed. The only draw back there was the constantly drilling all day from the water villas that were being refurbished. On the whole, the service was top notch. There were two chaps who were rather rude and clearly unhappy in their work but aside from that, staff were great. In particular Prince, Nishal, Bipin in the beach bar, Madhu, the bar manager in Reflections and our butler Hnin. All these staff went above and beyond to make sure we were happy, enjoying our holiday and wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. We had a super holiday but at times, the relaxation element was spoiled because of lack of care and attention. We would recommend the resort, but probably wouldn't go back.
