Our stay at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi was truly wonderful and memorable. The location is absolutely fantastic, with stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere that made our holiday very special. The rooms were very clean, spacious, and well maintained. The overall ambience of the resort was superb, creating a perfect relaxing experience. The Hoetl provided good amenties. What impressed us the most was the hospitality and excellent service from all the staff across the restaurants and the resort. Since we are vegetarians, the chefs were extremely kind and accommodating. They specially prepared delicious meals for us every day, which made us feel very cared for and comfortable throughout our stay. A special thanks to the head chefs Mr. Jawar, Mr. Makan, and Mr. Vivek for their outstanding efforts and warm hospitality. We would also like to appreciate Mr. Jadeja, Mr. Naresh, and Mr. Sunny for their excellent service and friendly attitude in all the restaurants. Every member of the team went above and beyond to make our trip enjoyable. We had an amazing experience and would highly recommend this resort to anyone visiting the Maldives.

We had another amazing family holiday at Iru Fushi, it ticks all the boxes! The water villa adds to the experience being able to snorkel straight from our balcony deck. While all the rooms have all you need and the island is picture postcard, the staff go the extra mile to make our stay truly memorable and a Maldivian experience to remember. There are too many staff to mention and I can't recall all the names but our experience in each restaurant and the main buffet was made better by the team working there adding to an already fantastic atmosphere and experience. Its an amazing place where its just as easy to do nothing as it is do something. We love the restaurant choice and food and was a major factor in us returning to the island. A special thank you to Dorothy the ops director who took time out to check we were enjoying our holiday and madenus feel special. The bar team at Wateres Edge serving drinks and tailoring cocktails. Then list goes on. A special thank you, again, for Fayaz who ensured we had all we needed and more. You add to our holiday and make Iru Fushi our special place. Thanks all, Chris, Anna and Maisie

As a first time visitor to the Maldives, I'm so glad that we chose Sun Siyam Iru Fushi from our shortlist of resorts because it ticked every single box. Before I get to the resort, I would like to shout out Emirates. We booked as a package via Emirates Holidays. There was some nervousness as the Middle East conflict started about 2 months before our departure date. Airspace around Dubai was closed and there was genuine concern that our flights/holiday would have to be cancelled. Needless to say, flights resumed (about a month before our date). One of our return flights was cancelled unfortunately, but we were immediately put on an earlier flight that same day. Emirates kept me fully informed all the way, including a courtesy call a week ahead of travel. This reassurance was truly appreciated. I will absolutely be using them again. Upon arrival at Male, after collecting our bags we located the Emirates representative in arrivals and he guided us to the Sun Siyam rep who checked us/our bags in for the seaplane transfer. We were driven to the seaplane terminal and guided to the Sun Siyam lounge. We had just under 2 hours before our seaplane departure, which gave us time to check in via the Iru Fushi app, and take advantage of a VERY nice lounge - lots of chairs and sofas to relax, free snacks and drinks, and a complimentary massage. Prior to departure, we were taken to the departure "gate" - a waiting room on the ground floor - before being taken to our plane. Note: I was informed that my suitcase would be put on a later seaplane (they have strict weight restrictions). We were due to arrive at the resort at 1PM. I was told that my bag would arrive no later than 4PM. This wasn't a problem for me but bear that in mind. If you have essentials that you need immediately upon arrival at the resort, have them in your hand luggage. The actual seaplane flight takes about 40/45 minutes. If you've never been on one before, the engines are LOUD, so some people might want ear plugs or noise cancelling headphones. One of the reasons for choosing Iru Fushi is that I read that the seaplane gives you some the best views of the coral islands, resorts and reefs. It's so true. A speedboat just wouldn't do it justice (albeit if you have window seats on your commercial flight into Male, you get decent views as well). When the seaplane docked at the resort jetty, we were welcomed with traditional Maldivian drums, a much needed cold towel & a white flower (for the ladies). We were introduced to our butler for our stay - in our case, Neeshaadh - escorted to the Waters Edge bar for a welcome drink, before being driven by buggy/golf cart to our villa. Our bags were delivered from the seaplane to our villa (mine later and on time as promised). So we went for an overwater Villa with Pool, and my word it was simply marvellous. Absolutely massive room, a King size bed in the middle, flatscreen TV, a daybed, minibar stocked with drinks and snacks, a huge bathroom with his & hers sinks, a walk in shower and a whirlpool bath. Then you go out to the sundeck - our own infinity pool, another daybed, 2 sun loungers, a hammock and of course, steps leading to a ladder for direct access to the crystal clear, blue lagoon. Did I mention the glass viewing floor inside the room? Perfection. These villas are located on eastern side of the island making it perfect for sunrise (the Horizon Water villas are on the north western tip), and are perfect for peace and seclusion. The white sandy beaches are a sight to behold. Shells and coral galore. You can walk an entire lap of the island in about an hour, but depending on the tide, you'll have to wade through thigh deep on the eastern side. The Iru Fushi app means you can pre-book practically everything in advance - restaurants, excursions, you name it. There's a wide selection of restaurants with set menus, for lunch and dinner, and then Iru which is the main buffet restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner. Iru didn't need booking when we were there - just show up, but I suggest booking ahead of time for the others. The island was quieter when we went (likely due to the conflicts - putting people off travelling). As a result, the restaurants weren't all open as expected - likely due to reduced staffing numbers. I would suggest, regardless of bookings, check with your butler. For example, we booked Bamboo in the app, but on the day, Bamboo wasn't actually open. Out butler moved our reservation to the next night and we went to Iru instead. The food options at all restaurants are great. Iru has a different theme each night so you won't get bored. I HIGHLY recommend doing All Inclusive. The individual prices are a bit pricey, but even for the set menus, you will get a good 3 course meal with more drinks options than you know what to do with them. All inclusive also gives you a free hydrotherapy session at the spa, a discount on additional spa treatments, and free access to some water activities. You can also get free snorkelling equipment that you can keep for the duration of your stay, whether you're going for excursions in the ocean, or just fancy dipping into the lagoon from your villa. I highly recommend the floating breakfast. It might look like something material you do just to post on Instagram, but honestly, there is SO much food, we saved some for lunch later. So you get the experience of being able to show off a bit, but you get a filling breakfast to start the day. The facilities overall are great, but our stay was made special by the staff. Our butler Neeshaadh - I honestly can't speak highly enough of him. Sending us daily WhatsApp messages with an itinerary. Responding to messages to make sure we have everything we need. Helping with dinner reservations. Nothing was too much. And above everything, he's just such a nice guy! A shout out to Matteo as well, who we met at Trio. Again, just so warm, welcoming and funny. All the staff that served us at the various bars and restuarants, the ladies at the spa, the guys who gave us lifts too and from our villa. The twice daily housekeeping. The guys who took us out on the excursions. Honestly, everything was 5 star. I've probably missed something, but we will 100% be returning.
