We are just back from a 7 night family trip to Iru Sushi. It was our first visit to the Maldives and we will definitely return. Highlights Staff. Everyone we met was welcoming, smiley and super helpful. To highlight some of the best - Naresh and Surana who not only looked after us at Fluid during the day, but were also to be found in Taste of India on an evening. Nishal and Bipin - Waters Edge. My 9 year old loved them both. Friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble. Azzam our butler was also excellent - responsive and around to help whenever we needed him. Food. We were on the All Inclusive package and ate in Flavours x2, Taste of India x2, Bamboo, Teppanyaki and Iru. Lunch was either at Fluid or Waters Edge. Huge choice at Fluid for lunch and everything we had was excellent and piping hot. For dinner, we liked Iru the least - huge choice and excellent quality, but for us too busy (lots of unsupervised children). The food overall was superb. We also did the Teppanyaki one evening - expensive but great fun. The sushi and prawn dishes were amazing. Portion are huge so worth sharing a starter especially the sushi. Spa. Wonderful staff - I had a facial and my husband a massage. Both of us really enjoyed the pampering. Top tip - book an hour session in the hydrotherapy pools - we found out about it by chance talking to another family. Hot and cold pools, steam room and sauna all within a little courtyard garden. Tranquil and relaxing. Dive Centre. Staff very knowledgable and we loved wandering down the jetty early in the morning to see the marine life - sharks, manta rays and turtles tended to be out first thing. Rooms. We were in a beach villa (327). They are getting a little tired but huge size and excellent housekeeping service x2 per day and always to a high standard. Lowlights Not really and it is more 'even better if'... Management. At most 5* resorts (we stay in many of them) you would tend to see management around the resort chatting to guests. I could not tell you who the managers were - it would have been nice if they had been around eg on an evening for a short while to engage with guests. Mosquitos. Take repellent. We didn't see many during the day, but did get a few bites on an evening even with Tropical Strength repellent. Nothing that wasn't manageable with common sense. Seaplane transfer on departure. We had a 1945hrs flight from Male and left on a 1400hrs departure - it made for a long day and Male airport is not great. They do not let you check in until set times eg 1615hrs for our flight. Although the new/extended terminal is due to open in a a few weeks so suspect it will improve. A great week despite it being the rainy season. The rain came and went quickly and the one afternoon it was more than 10mins of rain, the hotel put on activities eg movie in the bar, sushi making, cocktail class. One thing to highlight, is that the sea was a bit more 'choppy' round the resort due to the time of year and winds - it didn't bother us but worth knowing. To summarise, wonderful family trip and we would happily return to Iru Fushi.

Amazing service. A beautiful island with lots to do. Naveen was a great butler always making sure we were comfortable. The staff at the dive center were very polite and helpful. Aloof was our dive instructor and he took good care of us. The room was lovely. Really enjoyed the jacuzzi in the bathroom.

Our stay at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi was truly unforgettable! The island is a tropical paradise with crystal-clear turquoise waters, white sandy beaches and stunning villas that offer pure relaxation. What made the experience even more special was the incredibly friendly and attentive staff – they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for from the moment we arrived. A very special thank you to our butler Fayaz, who took amazing care of us throughout our stay. 🌴☀️
