Manoir Hovey

What an amazing hotel! We loved every minute and would highly recommend it. We learned about the inn via Louise Penny’s book, and this summer we finally got to trail Inspector Gamache across Quebec, visiting sights across the Eastern Townships before arriving at the Manoir. Highlights 1. Lakeside room was beautiful, clean, well-appointed, quiet. We loved sitting on the patio facing the lake drinking tea from the room. Loved the robes and L’Occitane products. 2. The spa was divine. We had massages and enjoyed the thermal experience. Do not miss!! 3. The boats are all included, amply supplied, and the view from the kayak on the lake is gorgeous. 4. We enjoyed tennis on the clay court (reserve court time!), but we LOVED the pickleball lesson with Andre. 5. The heated pool and hot tub are great. 6. The breakfast buffet is ample and rich. Loved the croissants. We did both buffet and hot items one day, and it was too much. 7. Dining on the patio at Le Tap Room is scenic! What a sensational 20th anniversary we had at the Manoir. Highly recommend.

One of the best hotels I've stayed at in recent years and rivals other better known Relais & Chateaux hotels. The property is wonderful, right on the lake, with modern spa facilities, a lovely garden to sit in, kayaks, tennis court and pools. Great views from almost everywhere, and swimming in the lake was a highlight. Our room was in the main house and was so comfortable, nicely furnished and huge. Great views. Service was friendly, efficient and polished. Nothing was too much trouble. And finally the food - we knew it was going to be good and it didn't disappoint. Two lovely meals at the two restaurants on property. All in all a terrific stay and I suspect we'll be back.

Beautiful grounds. Good service at hotel and restaurants. Best moments were taking out a pedal-boat on the lake, and enjoying a pre-dinner cocktail on the lawn. Our room was odd, perhaps the last room available in the place, despite having booked well in advance. We were directly off the library on the ground floor. The upside was that we had a private terrace outside, where we played Scrabble well into the evening while having whiskeys brought to us. The downside was that the room had a miniscule bathroom (one person only), the sink was in the room, and the sprinkler pipes were exposed on the ceiling. And we could smell all the cooking from the kitchen. So I think it really depends on the room you get, as the rest of the hotel was very nice. One of our dinners there was truly excellent.

We attended a wedding at this luxurious resort overlooking beautiful lake landscape. Pool, gardens and the building are beautiful. The staff couldn’t have been warmer , friendlier , professional and welcoming. Such genuine and consistent customer care, calm demeanour and personalised service is a real treasure to find and made the wedding and the related events at the property an absolute delight. Reception staff were really charming day and night and I must mention the serving staff in particularly Marguerite, Marie, Julie and Mylene amongst others The spa was quickly booked up, food and drinks were excellent . Nidhal Hazel is incredible. He provided us with a white glove service for our stay. Every request, every question, was met with the utmost professionalism. He single handedly was capable of elevating a super luxury experience to even new heights.
