The banyan tree Vabbinfaru is a „peace of heaven experience „ with warm standard and incredible dining experience! One of the most beautiful designed resort we have ever seen! Charming atmosphere from employees from the beginning! We had stayed there 11 nights and every day was full of attraction organized by certificated staff Every morning Fipit Uma Shyrin Ahmed Gouda greated us with a beautiful smile! Chefs like Rajesh, Prosanta , Aden and Ann always made sure that our plates were full of delicious food! What they organized for Christmas and new year was absolutely amazing The yoga sessions were a real journey guided by Dr. Sharma. We could really deep dive and enjoy meditation. Hassan always paid attention that our villa was clean and full of nice surprises. Okta was the best Host organizing everything we were looking for. You people are making place special and you made it unforgettable to us ! Thank you so much for everything and we are looking forward to see you again Marta and Sandro

This is the fifth time we have decided to spend our holiday on Vabbinfaru – starting our adventure before Christmas until Decembre 26th After the first vacations in other Maldivian resorts until 2015 we came across these two islands of Ihuru and Vabbinfaru in 2016 and the decision to remain loyal to the island of Vabbinfaru is right - from our point of view: After landing at Malé International Airport, you will be brought to the island very quickly by speedboat. Perfect arranged by the Vabbinfaru staff: That's exactly the time when our vacation begins: shoes off and just relax. Actually we were accommodated in Bungalow 44 (Beach Front – sunrise – second time in this bungalow). Its a very nice bungalow on the desired beach section. As all islands, Vabbinfaru struggles a bit with sand erosion, like any other, but it works quite well. The service at Bungalow is excellent, a special thanks to Naseer(!!!): Housekeeping has everything under control – every wish is fulfilled as far as possible. The food on the island leaves nothing to be desired – the new Madi Hiyaa restaurant offers Japanese fusion cuisine to complement the existing restaurants. From our point of view, this addition would not have been necessary and rather to promote the country's typical cuisine more. In addition, you also have the option of taking a shuttle to the sister island “Dhawa Ihuru” and using the services over there like having lunch/dinner, snorkelling, using the SPA.... Whatever you want! A very big thanks and hugs goes to our trusted grill master and cook Rajesh, who recognized us immediately and greeted us very warmly. He has his area very well under control, perfect service and it's nice to be able to talk to him! “Dear Rajesh, it always feels like coming home! – THANKS! The SPA is our personal highlight: We have booked several sessions at once. The selection of treatments is very good, the ambience is simply great and the ladies from the SPA have mastered their craft perfectly. Pure relaxation – thank you! Over Christmas the Banyan Tree team conjures up even more than before: In no time at all, the island is decorated for the festivities without becoming kitschy. It was really fun to celebrate together with guests and also the staff! Everything was perfect and we are looking forward to the next holiday (2026!!!!) in the Maldives on Vabbinfaru.

Beautiful resort nestled on a tiny island in the Indian Ocean surrounded by emerald green waters. The location was topped by excellent service and hospitality. Our guest coordinator Fatima went an extra mile to look after us and plan our activities which made our experience much more pleasant and memorable.

One of the most memorable trip experiences we had, happened here. The hotel setting surrounded by a magical emerald color lagoon, the sun and white beaches and the coral reef with its flora and fauna. The people we traveled with and those new friends we found. And most importantly, the staff’s immaculate service and attention to details and friendly disposition. Thanks to Elias for being the GM of a great island hotel. Thanks to Mr. Waheed and his staff, Allath and Fatima for their guidance of how to take advantage of the resort facilities and the area, always helpful! Mr. David, Zendie, for their engaging personalities and interesting conversations. Dr. Sharma for his excellent yoga insights. Alex for his knowledge of coral and marine biology and the efforts to keep them growing. Mr. Prosanta for his Maldivian cooking lesson and the rest of the cooking staff, impeccable presentation of the food with vibrant colors and flavors. Thanks to Fipit, Ahmed, Shyrin, Nazin, and the numerous staff that tended our stay, with grace and a smile. Thanks to the housekeeping personnel for rooms 37 and 42 for the daily surprises they brought to our lives with their care.

Small and charming island, 25 min boat ride from Male. The staff are very polite and the resort host, Fatima, was especially helpful and professional. Villas need renovation. The Japanese restaurant is excellent but the main restaurant Saffron is quite mediocre and well bellow what you would expect from a 5 star resort. We were on a full board meal plan, yet there is significant surcharge for HB/FB guests on around 60-70% of the menu items (essentially everything except chicken and veggie meals) which was disappointing and not clearly justified. This significantely reduces the value of the mealplan and feels misleading.
