We had a wonderful stay at the Hard Rock! Our favorite restaurant is Frida. Jazmin, Naffate, Armando and captain Juan were made the experience even better!

Very tired resort

Many people have timeshares here, so I understand their need to defend it and give it glowing reviews. They are protecting their investment. I didn’t meet anyone here that didn’t. And to be fair, this resort is closing down in July for a refurbishment. Which it desperately needs. They have clearly not invested a cent in this place for many years. The positives: The staff are great. They work very hard to please patrons and keep the place clean. The location and the stretch of beach are ideal. The pools are great. The not so good: The food. Perhaps below average as this is a 5 star hotel. Really nothing special here. The rooms have no balconies, just a Romeo and Juliet style opening with a ledge. The new addition has balconies but the rooms are so small there is nowhere for 2 suitcases. You don’t see those rooms on the website. Looks like a micro hotel room. Parties. Lots of wedding and conventions. The music on the beach stops at 11 but the yelling and partying goes on until 2 or later. Tough to sleep here. Plumbing. Never once could have a hot shower. Varying degrees of warm to cool showers, depending on the time. Toilet wouldn’t flush reliably. Struggled each time and at times would nearly overflow. No toilet paper at times. Just weak plumbing. Most things are in poor repair. The loungers are a mismatched set of varying types and levels of disrepair. Broken umbrellas. Old, thin pool towels. Tired lobby. Many areas look very tired and rot and rust are common place. I would avoid this place until after the refurb, and would not stay until post refurb and only in the wings that aren’t newly built. Those rooms are ridiculously small.

We love Legendary Hard Rock! Every one of our vacations to a Hard Rock Hotel has been nothing short of exceptional. This vacation we stayed at Hard Rock Vallarta. We also took in the show Alma Rhythms Of The Night. An exceptional show that is a must see when you visit Vallarta. We would like to take this opportunity to call out the following people who provided us five star service throughout our 10 day. Stay at this resort. Bell Boy - Dan Resort Services - Hector The Market Restaurant: Hostess - Regina Wait Staff - Estrellita , Rolon, Gerry, Fernando Benitez, Alexander The Towel Guys - Charlie, Hugo Poolside - Floriana, Ruben Morga I know I’ve left out many names, but I can’t finish this review without at least acknowledging the host and hostesses, and all the wait staff at the following restaurants: Ciao, Frida, Zen, and UMO. Thanks again to all the staff at Hard Rock Vallarta Guest one of our best ever! Van and Jane Garcia
