An Experience Like No Other

INCREDIBLE! A, MUST experience, location. The food was fantastic, environment beautiful, staff exceptional. Special shout out to Chef Sudarhi and Chef Leoni for taking extra special care of us. 10/10 across all aspects. Final Thought: Can you find less expensive locations, sure, but you are in Bali so why would you do that to yourself. Just go and if you are a couple, stay in the Cliff Lounge suite with a private pool.

A simple summary would be that they focused so much on pretending they offer good service that they forgot to offer good service

A bit disappointing. I expected better from a "five star" hotel. First, everything was fine. If I was told it was a three star or even a four star, I wouldn't complain about any of these details, but for a "five star", I had high expectations. Upon arrival, they take your bags. That's a nice service when you want help with your bags However, if you prefer keeping your bags close, you're out of luck; they take your bags and won't let you take them back (short of starting a fight, which I choose to avoid). I would expect a "five star" to prioritize customer experience of their own posturing of "services offered". The bags made it to our room about 2 hours later. They were mixed with another couple's bags, but we got it straightened out and nothing seemed to be missing. They escort you to your room and drop you at the door. No intro to the room; no hint what is complementary versus adding a charge to your bill; no tour of the amenities. I hoped for better. The bathroom had double pocket doors. One was very difficult to move (either opening or closing). Once again, a minor inconvenience, but I had hoped a "five star" would have paid attention to those details. The shower door didn't seal well guaranteeing a puddle after every shower. My biggest pet peeve was the cleaning. I expect the cleaning staff to leave my stuff alone and to respect my preferences. When we checked in, the room temperature was set for 17C. That is neither good nor bad. We adjusted it to 22C per our preference. Every time they cleaned the room, they reset it to 17C. That was annoying and the opposite of good service; I would expect better from a 3-star. The same with the shower; it was OCD pretty when we arrived and that was great. After adjusting height, angle, and temp, I would expect that to stay until I check out rather than getting reset by the cleaning staff; once again, I would expect better from a 3-star. When we checked in, every surface had various papers advertising the hotel; that's fine, some were even useful. I moved it all to the side so I could put out my stuff. The cleaning staff moved my stuff to the side so they could put their papers out pretty again. That would be bad review worthy from a 3-Star. Checking out was another bag fiasco. We tried to catch their shuttle to take us from the room building back to the main building. The shuttle driver wouldn't allow any bags and just left the bags sitting in the public area (no claim tags, no security) and drove off. He said, "don't worry, your bags will be at the front desk in less than 5 minutes". The bags never went to the front desk; they took them to the taxi area where anyone could have driven off with them either intentionally or accidentally (no claim tags, no security, no one even watching who grabs what bag). A simple summary would be that they focused so much on pretending they offer good service that they forgot to offer good service.

Excellent Service and Great Hospitality

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

I had a wonderful two-night stay at the Kempinski, where the service was impressively fast from start to finish. It began with the reservations team, specifically Arnold and Dema, who were incredibly helpful in ensuring all the pre-arrival requests were perfectly met. The high standard of hospitality continued at Pala Restaurant, where Olivia provided exceptional service; she was very kind and efficient, welcoming us warmly and being particularly helpful when my daughter joined us for breakfast. Overall, every detail was handled with care, and the proactive staff made our stay truly seamless.
