Nestled in the bohemian enclave of Ojai is the historic Ojai Valley Inn, a luxurious retreat that has been one of California’s most revered destinations since opening in 1923. Located just 90 minutes north of Los Angeles, the resort overlooks the unspoiled natural beauty of its mountain surroundings and celebrates the relaxed glamour of California’s past to create an unparalleled resort experience that is quintessentially Ojai. The resort recently turned the page to a new chapter with the unveiling of enhancements that further elevate the resort experience while remaining true to its authentic spirit and include: chic outdoor oasis, Indigo Pool; new signature restaurant Olivella; the thoughtfully refreshed, historic Wallace Neff Heritage Bar, and Libbey’s, a fresh artisan market, café and boutique.

Scenic, nice grounds/location, wanted much more time here. Not much of a golfer, but watching folks deal with the course made me want to pick it up.

We stayed 3 nights. The resort is over 100 years old but the rooms were great. Modern, good size, high quality materials (bathrooms, floors, windows, beds, etc). We ate at all 3 restaurants which were very high quality. Service was excellent. Pools were great. Gym was nice as was the included classes. Bikes included to bike into town. We had a few issues with management that were resolved to our satisfaction. We would stay again.

Room 765 is just too far away. Google for Ojai Valley Inn resort map -- building 7 is the one on the far right ... kinda not near anything. It was an 8-minute walk to the restaurants, and a 9-minute walk to the pool -- and it's a good amount of hills, it's not flat. That meant I spent a lot of time walking, or waiting for a golf cart. Couple that with room 765 being 'luxury' but having a view of a wall ... I just wasn't feeling it. There are a lot of great things about this place -- the staff were lovely, and the food was excellent. I just loathed waking up and feeling like I had a long walk to get to breakfast. I loathed sitting by the pool at 5pm and thinking it was a 18 minute round trip to my room and back to switch from bathing suit to clothes. There are golf carts for sure, and sometimes we got lucky, but ... it's a PITA.

Ojai Valley Inn was absolutely beautiful. It felt like a real getaway! From on site restaurants, the spa and pools, everything was amazing. We could also walk into town and shop, go to a local farmer's market and hear music at the Libbey Bowl. Try the honey and olive oil sold on property too!

Not only is the property stunning the service is impeccable! Everywhere we went we were greeted graciously with top notch service! The Spa is excellent. We are a family of 4 and an infant and we all had a service at the Spa and everyone was super happy. We had massages and facials. The food is very good as well. We ate at the Spa restaurant, the family pool and a few of the restaurants on site. Lots of families and adorable dogs. My son played golf and loved the course. Needless to say I can't wait to come back! A relaxing beautiful place to unwind and enjoy!
