Nestled in the bohemian enclave of Ojai is the historic Ojai Valley Inn, a luxurious retreat that has been one of California’s most revered destinations since opening in 1923. Located just 90 minutes north of Los Angeles, the resort overlooks the unspoiled natural beauty of its mountain surroundings and celebrates the relaxed glamour of California’s past to create an unparalleled resort experience that is quintessentially Ojai. The resort recently turned the page to a new chapter with the unveiling of enhancements that further elevate the resort experience while remaining true to its authentic spirit and include: chic outdoor oasis, Indigo Pool; new signature restaurant Olivella; the thoughtfully refreshed, historic Wallace Neff Heritage Bar, and Libbey’s, a fresh artisan market, café and boutique.

Our experience was extremely positive. Everything went smoothly from the moment we booked. Our room was beautiful; the amenities were excellent; the robes were so cozy and, compared to many five-star hotels, of high quality. The restaurants, in-room dining, spa, gym, and apothecary were all brilliant and led by amazing staff who were all prepared to go above and beyond. The in-room dining delivery staff provided excellent customer service. The apothecary was fabulous, and my daughter made a beautiful candle. A big thank you to Susan and Courtney. The only feedback we had was that on the first day, we waited 25 minutes to collect our car from the valet. We needed to follow up three times, and to be honest, it wasn't handled well by the manager of the valet, who just kept saying that someone was getting it, but they weren't. Needless to say, we chose self-parking for the rest of the stay. Overall, we had a brilliant time and look forward to visiting again soon. Thank you to the amazing Ojai Valley Inn team for making us feel so welcome.

The rooms were absolutely disgusting. The AC wasn't working so the rooms were humid and hot. The rooms also smelled of mold. Instead of wanting to stay and relax in what should have been luxurious rooms, we fled the rooms instead. I was a regular at Ojai Valley Inn but that's not a practice I will uphold moving forward. At most, I'll visit for a wonderful dinner at Olivella, the hotel's only saving grace.

The resort is gorgeous, down to every detail but it is very expensive and service is lacking compared to comparable resorts we go to regularly. This was similar in our visit in 2022 as well. All 3 couples in our group had service issues, whether late check-in's, poor service for brunch, service at pool, etc. Also, spa was fully booked so despite spending 3 nights, we weren't able to enjoy the spa treatments. Also, self parking was $60 like valet which makes no sense.

The grounds and rooms were amazing! It was instantly relaxing and delightful. Would go back in a second! Such a lovely place and not at all far from home. Can't think of a better experience for a quick getaway. Food and service were terrific as well.

Fairytale setting with top-notch service, amazing food, beautiful grounds with flowers, and beautiful large pools. Bikes are provided for free for short ride into town. The Artist cottage is also so lovely; we did pottery and a terrarium. Our 2nd time staying at this resort. Can’t wait to return!
