Nestled in the bohemian enclave of Ojai is the historic Ojai Valley Inn, a luxurious retreat that has been one of California’s most revered destinations since opening in 1923. Located just 90 minutes north of Los Angeles, the resort overlooks the unspoiled natural beauty of its mountain surroundings and celebrates the relaxed glamour of California’s past to create an unparalleled resort experience that is quintessentially Ojai. The resort recently turned the page to a new chapter with the unveiling of enhancements that further elevate the resort experience while remaining true to its authentic spirit and include: chic outdoor oasis, Indigo Pool; new signature restaurant Olivella; the thoughtfully refreshed, historic Wallace Neff Heritage Bar, and Libbey’s, a fresh artisan market, café and boutique.

What a fantastic resort! Haven't been here in 37+ years but completely forgot what we were missing. From the well-appointed rooms and the stellar service, this was truly a hidden gem in a beautiful part of our wonderful state. Can't wait to come back!

Exceptional experience from start to finish! The staff was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely caring. The service was top-notch, and the atmosphere made it all the more enjoyable stay and business meeting. Highly recommend, a definite must-visit!"

Wonderful location, amazing staff, and excellent amenities. Only issues was a maintenance alarm going off across from the front door at 12:45am and a cockroach in the bathroom. The Pixie pool was great for the kids. The Oak restaurant and view were exquisite.

We came with Backroads, and after hearing about OVI for so long, this was a let down. We waited way too long to check-in (line went out the door), and our room was not ready at 4pm as promised (several were not), no apologies––not at all impressed with front desk staff. The room was incredibly hot; we reported it, and were told they'd look into it and get back to us. Came back just before dinner, and no updates, AC still not working properly. Our friends were moved to another room (theirs was next to ours, with same problem), but we were not told until it felt too late to change rooms. Shower had to run for ages to get hot water (so much for conservation), and then was hard to adjust. Our room was right next to a work out space and fitness classes were SO loud, it was impossible to enjoy our room during that time, even with the door closed. Our 2nd night, they came for turn down at 4:45. We were getting showered/ready for the evening and asked if they could come back. When we got back later, they had not come. The positives: the grounds are gorgeous, the pool area nice, with lots of seating. The food was excellent; we enjoyed every meal. It's an easy 1 mile walk to town on a lovely bike/walking path, but feels remote and beautiful. When they clean the room or do turn down, they tidy your chords with a resort band, and leave a cloth to clean glasses, a really nice touch! Room (321) was large and comfy, though the view was not great, right next to fitness center. The aviary is a fun touch, and the art and architecture is lovely. The lights hanging in the large oaks are magical.

This is my favorite place to stay in the U.S. No experience here has been anything less than exceptional. From the grounds, to the room - everything was beautifully maintained. The staff was very kind and attentive. The food and drinks were lovely.
