Don’t bother. Outrageous!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

What a terrible experience! Six adults well dressed and heading to dinner come by for a drink on the way. There is a 1200 Euro minimum at the bar at 7 PM. Go to the Romazzino instead. Great service. Great beach. Great everything at that hotel. Forget this one.

Not what I was expecting sadly

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

I stayed at the Romazzino but came here for dinner. I was so excited to visit! As soon as I arrived, the vibes were weird. The clientele was odd and they had armed guards in the lobby which made me feel uneasy. The hotel itself seemed pretty but musty and outdated. The staff seemed really depressed/low morale. There was a bartender at the Atrium Bar that was so sick. He kept blowing his nose and looked extremely ill. The staff was definitely much more pretentious than Romazzino despite the nightly rate being extremely comparable. The Atrium Bar, while very pretty, wasn’t worth the 250 euro pp minimum. I understand the hotel is trying to weed out certain clientele with that rule, but it felt tacky and almost comical. Again, was expecting something completely different.

Poor Service + Mid Food at Atrium Bar

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

My family and I went to the Atrium Bar on Tuesday, August 11th, 2026 for drinks and dinner but received absolutely horrible service. What a major disappointment to see this kind of service from the supposed best hotel on the island. As soon as we got to the hotel entrance there were about 6 men that work in the hotel guarding the door. They kept repeating something about 150 euros but were speaking quickly and talking over each other, so we could not understand. Finally when I asked someone to please repeat slowly then I understood that there was a 150 euro minimum per person at the Atrium Bar. We said no problem. We enter the bar and the hostess barely greets us and tells us to wait as she seats another couple. Meanwhile we are just waiting, standing completely in the way. Finally we get seated and order food and drinks. The aperol spritz was mediocre. We ordered pizza which tasted like Chuck E Cheese pizza. The Club sandwich was good. The service was horrendous. The waitress came by maybe twice throughout our several hour long dinner, so we had no one checking on us. We then ordered a second round of pasta and it never came until we had to get up and physically track someone down to remind them. The pasta came maybe 15 minutes after that which makes me think they forgot to place the order altogether. Either way, everything was ridiculously slow to the point where it seemed we were completely forgotten about. I asked to speak with the manager and when I told him about the horrible experience he literally said nothing. Not a word. He stood quietly looking around like he wanted to leave until I asked if he was going to say anything. All he said was, effectively, “I’m sorry you felt that way” in a disinterested tone. Very disappointing to see this kind of poor service from a Marriott hotel. It felt like we were a burden to them just for eating dinner. I’m sure I will receive an AI-generated response defending their behavior, but just know that if you eat here you are doing it at your own risk.

Shocking experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

I have been coming to Cala di Volpe for 27 years, and I have never been so disappointed. Charging €150 minimum spend per person just to sit on the terrace is already excessive. But what made the experience truly unacceptable was allowing guests wearing clothing with highly provocative political slogans to sit in the hotel bar and restaurant. A luxury hotel should provide an elegant, welcoming atmosphere for guests from all over the world, not expose them to political messages that many find offensive or distressing. This completely ruined the atmosphere of what was once one of my favourite places in Sardinia. Over the years, I and many of my friends have spent a significant amount of money at Cala di Volpe. Sadly, after this experience, I will not be returning. Very disappointing.

Stunning hotel

Been consistently coming to this hotel for 10-15 years and it’s always been the same good service. I am 17 right now and in the future I will 100% take my kids here
