Room 40 is such a beautiful room , charming colour scheme and a comfortable lounging area . A cute small balcony was big enough to enjoy a coffee , an espresso machine in the room is a good touch . Large bright bathroom. The surrounding gardens were colourful and neatly kept . A six course menu at night gave you plenty to choose from , I love the ice cream. All there is to say is that this place certainly is a wonderful experience.

We are two couples enjoying Sardinia we reached the hotel we got room number 94 The lady in the reception saw us we are in our 80 years and gave us a room with 60 plus stairs we almost died on our way up. Now we didn’t go any place worry to go up 64 stairs. And we need to leave the room at 10 o’clock

Lovely setting but falls short. Room 36 is a lovely suite, cleverly set above the parking lot but with an outdoor patio and screened privacy. Like many hotels built into old structures, the suite does not have much natural light but there are sufficient lamps and bathroom lighting. Tub is on a platform in the main room and controls are difficult to reach. Anyone close to 5’ tall will have to crouch or crawl to get into the tub or close the curtains to block daylight. Upon check-in, the phone and bidet weren’t working. Bidet took two days to fix - wouldn’t hold water. Phone took three days and work people came in at night and during the day, once without knocking - but in any case, went about working on the phone while we were sitting on the bed in robes - quite strange. Breakfast is plentiful but servers seemed dismayed to be asked for cappuccinos the first morning and were friendly the next morning, again, strange. We had dinner in the restaurant as we wanted to try the roasted porchetta. First night, all three courses came right away and at once, making us feel rushed. Next night, the first, pasta course took one hour to come though we had been told an extra 5-6 minutes to,prepare the seafood fregola Which was excellent. Next, the main course took another half hour to come out. Strange compared to the previous night. At both dinners, we felt like we were in a barn as we were being dive bombed by flies landing in our food and flying directly in our faces. Spent the dinner waving and swatting. Be aware that Su Gologone caters to groups. First two days there was a Backroads group that were loud and taking up as much space as they could. On our last day, there was a wedding party that could be loudly heard from the beautiful otherwise tranquil pool setting, the party continued with booming, pounding disco music that reverberated in our room. Despite being told by the front desk the music would be turned down, it was not, nor did it end at 10pm as we were told - a total disturbance that as of 10:30pm was still pounding away. Just as an advisory - there are many steps inside and out on the property to get to rooms, restaurants and grounds. A lot so uneven, cobbled or stone paving as well. There are no handrails. This would not be a good property for an infirm or unsteady guest. Staff are generally very nice, food is good, but the inconsistencies and inconveniences and annoyances do not add up to a relaxing resort. Disappointing. The nearby spring, Su Gologone, for which the property is named, is beautiful even when the water is low at the end of summer. There is a lovely walk along the river that can be kayaked when there is a good flow.

I recently led a yoga retreat at this hotel, and it was truly a special experience. The food was delicious and plentiful, though be prepared, the focus is very much on meat, cheese, and bread. If you’re staying for a longer time, it’s helpful to know this in advance so you can balance meals as needed. The staff were absolutely lovely, and I especially want to thank Christian, who went above and beyond to help me organize and make our retreat feel seamless. His kindness and creativity were a huge part of what made our week so successful. The nature surrounding the property is breathtaking, and the rooms are each unique and full of character, a highlight in themselves. And the pooI is amazing. It is a special place with warm people, beautiful surroundings, and an unforgettable spirit. Thank you.

I had a wonderful experience with the Botteghe di su Gologone. Whilst visiting from Australia, I purchased a beautiful pair of earrings. Shortly after purchasing, they unfortunately broke. Gonarina went above and beyond to ensure they were replaced. She kept me updated throughout the process, was patient with all of my questions, and handled everything with such care and professionalism. It’s rare to find someone so genuinely committed to making things right for their customers. I am truly grateful for her effort and kindness. My earrings were replaced and sent to Australia.
