Staying at Hotel Su Gologone was like stepping into a dream made real. My wife and I felt transported to another world—a place that awakens romance, inspires joy, and invites deep relaxation all at once. It is truly magical. From the moment we arrived, Christian and the owners welcomed us not as guests, but as family. There is a warmth and authenticity in the way they share this extraordinary place that makes you feel instantly at home, while still surrounded by wonder. The grounds themselves are sublime, alive with vibrant gardens, winding paths, and endless pockets of beauty to discover. Every detail feels intentional, designed to stir the senses and spirit. The experiences offered here are just as enchanting as the setting. Whether it’s exploring the surrounding landscapes, immersing in creative workshops, or simply soaking in the peaceful rhythm of the property, there is something for everyone. Yet nothing ever feels rushed or staged—it all unfolds with the natural grace of Sardinia itself. And then, the food. It’s no surprise that Anthony Bourdain once called this his “secret getaway.” Here, farm-to-table isn’t a marketing phrase—it’s a way of life. Every dish bursts with authenticity, rooted in the land and crafted with devotion. The cuisine rivals some of the finest dining we’ve experienced anywhere in the world, yet carries the soulful simplicity of Sardinian tradition. Each meal felt like an invitation to savor not only the flavors, but the story and culture of the island. Hotel Su Gologone is one of those rare places that stays with you long after you leave. A sanctuary where the outside world fades, and you are reminded of what it means to feel alive, connected, and in love. Part of me hesitates to share, because it feels like a hidden treasure we’d like to keep as our own secret escape. But some magic is too powerful not to pass along. If you are fortunate enough to visit, you’ll understand—this isn’t just a hotel. It’s an experience, a story, a piece of Sardinia’s heart. —LC

I was very keen to stay at this hotel, but my experience with their booking process has been extremely disappointing. I never stayed, so cannot comment on the rooms, but after an attempt to book in April (for the wrong room and formula) failed, the hotel withheld my card details for months without consent and then took nearly €3,000 in June—despite many emails from me confirming the booking was not going ahead. Communication has been poor, responses minimal, and the handling of this situation feels highly suspicious.

Su Gologone has been a gift. Your buildings, but mostly your people, have been a blessing. You have made my heart happy, and even better, my wife’s heart. Genuine, caring, spirited, fun, talented and passionate has been my experience here. I am ashamed I do not know names, but the faces are etched in my mind. The smiling and humble face cleaning up outside and carrying our bags. The helpful, courteous and competent faces at the front desk. The energy and confidence in the faces of the team in the dining room. The concentration and hard work of the men on the grounds. The incredible voices of the singers at the dinner last night. All wonderful and collectively a gift to me and my beautiful, restful time of holiday. Maria at the art studio has been a special gift. So caring and so patient,; a common artistic spirit with my wife. Watching my wife create beautiful art with Maria’s help has been the highlight of my trip! 😀 God speaks to my heart in so many ways; nature, beauty, challenges and opportunities. On this trip He has chosen all of you to remind me of good, of beauty from within, of humble service and of His very Creation. As we leave here I will be thankful. I will be refreshed. I will be rested. I will be I will be happy. I will be content. You have blessed me. Gracie! Grazie! Grazie!

My experience at Su Gologone was magical. It is a beautiful hotel, a try oasis of calm and serenity. The staff were impeccable, incredibly friendly and helpful. They went the extra mile and helped fix my broken suitcase as well as arranging excursions and a packed lunch for me. I was travelling on my own and felt truly welcome. The food is exceptional and worth a visit just to try the many tasting menus that they offer. A highlight was the vegetarian menu served in the hotel’s vegetable garden. I cannot recommend this hotel more. It feels like a secret garden, with lots of different areas to explore. The rooms are gorgeous and you can see all the small touches brought by the incredible owner and designer, Giovanna. I can’t wait to come back every year!

Spent the last 4 nights at end of our 10 day Sardinian holiday, it was perfect. Its a busy hotel as very popular with 'outsiders/locals' so there is always something going on, but luckily there are so many 'nooks & crannies' to hang out that away from the main building/pool you can have plenty privacy. Very nice friendly welcome, offered a complimentary drink too. Rooms - I had booked a Junior Suite dell'Arte and was upgraded to Suite (not dell'Arte which I preferred as simple white decor), they very kindly took note of my request for a light bright room, we were given no65 (but would have been equally happy with junior suite next door no67 similar decor just smaller). If you want privacy then best higher floor. Loved our room, all white, very light, spacious, comfortable, perfect terrace/balcony with bath which we didn't use. Also booked Classic room which was same white style as ours but smaller, a little dark, no 47, tiny outside balcony at front but window was ground level at back (on slope) Love that they provide a basket tagged with your room number and pool towels (which you can refresh down by the pool). 'Nespresso' machine with generous number of pods. No milk but when we phoned requesting, it was delivered within 5 minutes (super quick), in a jug which lasted us our 4 nights stay. - do make sure you go to Bar Tablao for aperitvo early evening, beautiful setting - Gazebo restaurant had lovely menu, just wish it was open at night for dinner. Pool drinks are served here but the lifeguard regularly comes around to take orders. It is only for hotel guests - Pool (only hotel guests), perfect temperature, good size if a little shallow. A pity there are no steps/ladder at both ends. The concrete around the pool is very rough so can't climb out of pool and tough on feet to walk on. Would be nice if area is a little less rough including cutting the grass. Hedge along edge is so high that one cannot appreciate the gorgeous view from the pool. Whole area around pool could do with a bit of 'renovation'. - Restaurant in evening - good food but eating there twice was enough. Breakfast has plenty of choice and is of decent quality though staff not as helpful or friendly as in the evening service. - Mini-golf, it is so uncared for, broken in parts, bushes in the way of where you tee off, what a mess, but hey, it was fun to play though no surprise, lost a ball. - Recommend kayaking (20€pp) and visiting the Spring (2.50€ pp, inc in Kayak), just 5-10 minutes walk, offered by 3rd party Hotel is a little tired in parts but I get the impression that they constantly renovate/improve, certainly our bedroom (clean white) did not reflect a lot of the photos and felt clean and fresh. Overall a perfect 4 day stay.
