Hotel was fine. The Monarch restaurant connected to it was abysmal. I had horrendous service almost every meal. One meal I got up and left because they took 20 min and hadn't even taken my drink order. The next morning I went down at 7:15 (supposed to open at 7) and there was nobody there. No servers, no cooks - nobody. Of all the meals I had there, only the breakfast served by a waitress named Cheyenne was a positive experience. If you want to eat at the hotel where you stay, DO NOT STAY HERE!

I loved this hotel in downtown Omaha. I stayed 2 nights, and I think they upgraded my room--it was a really large corner room decorated to be cool. Dark colours in the room from the wallpaper to the furniture, but then a pop of colour with a big red couch in the middle of it all. There was a giant desk, a high-backed sitting chair, big flat-screen TV and all the other little amenities one would expect of a good hotel. Although the building is a 100+ year old Art Deco gem, the room didn't feel old at all, indeed very hip. The downside of the old building was that the windows, though providing great views of the city, let in road noise even 11 floor up, but there was no noise from the hallway or other rooms. For this I thought the value was pretty good, about on par with what I'd consider for this high-class of a lodging in other large cities. One very good feature of the hotel is they have a free, private SUV airport shuttle. Just call ahead (email didn't seem to work) to reserve it maybe a day before you arrive. The service, both from the driver and front desk staff, was always quite friendly and helpful. I really loved that they let me know about the hidden cocktail bar next door that arguably is the best in the Midwest. Certainly best I've found. Although the hotel is downtown, walking west of the hotel--even just one block down--was really rough and didn't feel too safe. So beware. Heading toward the river seemed fine, and it is about 3 blocks from the Old Market area. Not a bad walk. Because it is mostly downtown offices, the streets are quiet at night. There are a few good dining options within the area, including a lot in Old Market.

Came back to Omaha for sad reasons, i.e. a funeral. Had my wife and entire family. Deco is a beautiful place, and the night manager, Carlos, was extremely gracious to us and accommodating. The hotel, itself, is beyond Charming and an elegant walk back into time in downtown Omaha. Rooms are super spacious and well- appointed. Although not visiting with alot of time to spare, it is adjacent to the Old Market with vibey restaurants, bars and speakeasies. Recommend!

During the college World Series, you know its going to be hot… the AC is broken in our room… we got a single box fan, no discount, and offered FREE BREAKFAST… our room was 81 degrees all night… room 712.

We stayed at Hotel Deco for our son’s wedding recently!! It was on a Friday night & we were hoping to check in early. I called earlier in the week in a panic & Denise, at the front desk, very calmly assured this panicked mother of the groom she would help & made it sure it happened so we could get ready after traveling from out of town! She was very welcoming, friendly, accommodating & made our stay & day even better!! We will be back again when we are in Omaha!!
