Amazing lodge, my highlight of Belize

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

This was our highlight of Belize! An amazing lodge which really thinks about your every need. The best rooms with all amenities, awesome food and very reasonably priced bar. All the staff are super attentive and the guides were very knowledgable and went out of their way to make our stay memorable- a guide even took me down to the jetty to see the planets before the sunrise. We really recommend this place!!

Don’t miss Lamanai Outpost!

We are a family of 5 (children aged 8, 12 and 13). We stayed at Lamanai Outpost Lodge for 4 nights and absolutely loved every second of it. Our cabana was spacious, cool and immaculate. The restaurant and communal area was gorgeous, looking down across the forest to the lagoon and all the food was great. The service was warm snd friendly too. We loved all the wonderful tours with the brilliant guide Eduardo. The trip to the Lamanai ruins was wonderful (we were the only people there!), as were all the wildlife spotting trips. Eduardo was incredible at spotting wonderful birds as well as monkeys, reptiles and insects. He was superb! For a bit of downtime the kids loved swinging in the hammocks (WiFi was good!) and jumping into the lagoon. And then of course there was the wonderful boat ride to get there and back. The only minor gripes were the tipping policy which we hadn’t been expecting (i would’ve preferred that the service charge was included) and the fact that we were charged for 5 people on the extra water sports tour, even though it was one hour long regardless of the number of people participating - I think that should’ve been a fixed charged. But overall - really excellent - don’t miss Lamanai Outpost if you’re going to Belize - it’s the most wonderful place to stay and you get jungle experiences and Mayan ruins right on your door step! Thanks to everyone who made us feel so at home.

Great place for the birder/nature lover

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

This was our second visit to Lamanai, in large part because we liked our guide, Eduardo, so much. It did not disappoint. We were lucky (during the rainy season) to capture a croc on the crocodile experience. My husband logged more than 100 birds in the first two days. Great, over-abundant food, comfortable and spacious cabin. I just love the vibe, even though we’ve been to a couple of places that were a tad fancier. We like the all-inclusive pricing (croc expedition was extra but so worth it). It feels like home! I only wish they had a pool, because (having grown up swimming in the ocean) I can’t bring myself to swim in the lagoon… maybe next time.

Fantastic stay at Lamanai Outpost!

We spent 3 nights at Lamanai Outpost Lodge at the start of our Belize adventure and can honestly say we loved every minute! From the moment we were met at the airport by Freddy to when we were dropped off at Bats Landing by our guide Abdul,we were looked after so well and nothing was too much trouble! We thoroughly enjoyed all of the activities offered by the Lodge, from the early morning nature walk to Floyd’s pond, the night safari by boat where we came up close to several crocodiles, the visit to the Lamanai Maya ruins, the night walk spotting tarantula spiders, snakes, frogs and a scorpion, the sunset cocktail cruise with the best banana colados and my personal favourite, the sunrise canoe trip. All were well organised, interesting, very informative and gave us some great insights into this fascinating country! The food was amazing-a set menu but each meal was delicious and very generous portions! The staff are all very friendly and wonderful, with particular thanks to the lovely Marvie for looking after us so well in the restaurant and to our dedicated guide Abdul whose birding and wildlife knowledge was encyclopedic but delivered with great humour!Would love to return and can recommend without hesitation!
