Caribe Royale didnt feel regal

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I am writing to provide firm and direct feedback regarding our recent two week stay at The Caribe Royal in Orlando. As a family of four who deliberately chose a 4 star hotel, we expected a level of service, maintenance, and professionalism that was simply not delivered. From the moment we arrived, the experience fell short. The hotel was overwhelmed due to a convention, leaving no parking available. After a 25 minute wait at reception, we were met by a staff member who was dismissive, unhelpful, and unwilling to answer basic questions. She attempted to charge us parking and resort fees that were already waived through TUI, and only removed them when challenged. This interaction set the tone for what followed. We were placed in room 3706, Tower 3, where only one lift was functioning for our floor. Staff later confirmed that multiple lifts had been out of service for weeks, yet our room was still allocated in a location that guaranteed inconvenience. When we sought assistance, reception staff offered no solutions until a manager intervened. While the $100 credit was appreciated, it did not resolve the ongoing disruption or the poor decision to place guests on a floor with known lift issues. Further issues continued throughout our stay. The pool area was overcrowded, with sunbeds taken by 8am and no staff intervention. The gym—advertised as “state of the art”—was dirty, poorly maintained, and had broken equipment. Housekeeping was inconsistent, with our room left uncleaned on two occasions and staff arriving as late as 8:30pm with no apology or urgency. Despite the hotel’s large footprint and good location, many amenities were unusable or below standard. Rooms and shower facilities were tired, on site shops and restaurants were overpriced, and staff interactions were frequently unprofessional. Reception staff were often unapproachable, and some left their stations despite long queues. Communication was also difficult due to language barriers with housekeeping. We have visited Orlando seven times and consistently stayed in 4/5 star hotels. The Caribe Royal did not meet the standard expected of a 4 star establishment in service, maintenance, or guest care. Reviews consistently mention issues with check in staff, and based on our experience, these concerns have not been addressed. Guests choose 4 star hotels for reliability, professionalism, and comfort—none of which were consistently provided during our stay.

Well traveled family of 6

Totally enjoyed our stay! We stayed 7 days in Villa 4 and it was more than enough space for our family of 6. Kids ages 6, 7, 14 & 16. Disney, SeaWorld & Volcano Bay were all in close proximity. The food and snacks were reasonably priced. The pool was fun and lively- the younger kids really liked the slide. The bigger kids enjoyed part of the pool being 6ft. Mr Steven from Brooklyn NY, in the pool area, was fantastic!! He was attentive, knowledgeable, professional, and very kind! Loved each interaction with him. More 10/10 would recommend!

ROYALE CARRIBE

Beautiful resort hotel consisting of three tower blocks around a tropical style swimming pool. Inviting lobby and reception area leading onto a sports bar, mini market/bakery, Starbucks and a couple of restaurants located within the hotel. Room consisted of a lounge area with fridge, microwave and large TV leading to a large bedroom again with large TV seperated by a sink/vanity area and shower/toilet. The lounge sofa was used as a sofa bed, however this wasn't very comfortable and a lot of corridor noise could be heard from this room especially as there is a large gap at the bottom of the entrance door, however an internal door keeps this noise from the comfy king-size bed in the main bedroom thankfully. Plenty of sun loungers around the pool with complimentary towels provided, but did get busy both day and night around the pool over the weekend with guests. We booked with Virgin so all parking and resort fee's were included in our booking , but without this the parking fees alone can work out very expensive, so check out any additional charges before booking. I would highly recommend this upmarket hotel for facilities and location ( approx 10 minutes to Disney Springs)

Our Happy Place

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We stayed here for our honeymoon in 2016, family vacation 2017, and celebrating our final pregnancy 2018. This year, we came down a 4th time for our 10th wedding anniversary and brought our 7 year old with us to complete the cycle. We have never had a bad experience. If anything, this resort is our happy place! The staff, the atmosphere, the price, we would come down every year and stay all summer if we could! Special shout out to Mr Steven Brown for going out of his way to making poolside a paradise! He makes everyone feel important and special!
