Part of the historic Peabody hotel franchise, whose flagship property opened more than a century ago, Hyatt Regency Orlando embraces its legacy. A member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, part of the established Preferred Hotel Group, this destination is a lodging landmark sculpted from glass and steel. Home to the heralded Peabody ducks, this modern sanctuary is located in the heart of Orlando's entertainment district. With a backdrop of swaying palms, cascading waterfalls and halls carved from marble, Hyatt Regency Orlando features an array of contemporary rooms and suites. The three highest floors belong to the Peabody Club, an exclusive arrangement of accommodations with private access and added amenities.

Great hotel and location. The housekeeping was very professional and friendly. Descend21 has nice food selection and great place to watch sports. Running is a little boring but an easy area to run.

Date of Stay: Saturday, 7/26/25 - Sunday, 7/27/15 Length of Stay: 1 Night In a nutshell, the Hyatt Regency Orlando is a truly spectacular place to stay, offering stellar staff and service in the perfect location; it has spacious modern rooms with amazing views and offers two excellent pool complexes, all within the heart of Orlando's International Drive & Convention Region. If you want to stay close to the action of it all, or have a conference in Orlando on I-Drive, this truly is the place that you must stay! Now, for my detailed review: First, I should disclose that this has been my go-to property for I-Drive Resort & Conference Stays for over ten years now, and I have never had a poor experience staying at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Orlando. As I realize I have not drafted a review of this property in some time, this recent trip has provided me the perfect opportunity to give an updated take on this still amazing property, but should you wish more information, you can still find several of my prior reviews on TripAdvisor: -July 2019, entitled: "Another Perfect Stay at the Best Property on I-Drive!!!" (posted July 8, 2019) -May 2014, entitled: "Another Absolutely AMAZING Stay at the Hyatt Regency Orlando!!!" (posted May 27, 2014) -February 2014, entitled: “Truly AMAZING Valentine's Day Weekend - Excellent Service, Beautiful Rooms & Views!!” (posted February 19, 2014) Now, with that being said, let's talk about the AMAZING Hyatt Regency Orlando! The biggest selling point of the Hyatt Regency Orlando is its absolutely perfect location -- you truly could not be closer to all that Orlando has to offer! The Hyatt Regency Orlando is located in the heart of Orlando's International Drive (I-Drive) Tourism and Conference District, offering countless entertainment and dining venues all within easy walking distance. The Hyatt Regency Orlando is very convenient to the Orlando International Airport (MCO), located around 12-miles from the airport and just off of the Central Florida Beachline, you can be to the property in 20-30 minutes or less, depending on traffic. As the tourist capitol of the world, Orlando is extremely ride-share friendly, and it is very easy for you to get to the property from the Orlando International Airport and then get around the area. You truly would not need to rent a car visiting this part of Orlando, but if you do, the Hyatt Regency Orlando offers ample parking -- both in a large self-parking garage that is a short covered walk from the hotel at $38/day or via friendly and efficient Valet Service at $53/day. While this might seem expensive to some, it is very reasonable and in line with all other properties in the region. But again, you truly do not need a rental car and can avoid parking charges all together by simply taking advantage of the plentiful ride-share services that Orlando has to offer. Additionally, the amazing entertainment and dining venues of I-Drive can easily be accessed via the reasonably priced I-Ride Trolley, which has a stop just out front of the property, and for which two (2) adult tickets are included in your Resort Fee (more on that later). Make sure not to miss the opportunity to visit ICON Park where you will find so much to do -- many people just think of Orlando for its many theme parks, but just down the road from the Hyatt Regency Orlando you will find the Orlando Eye, Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum and SeaLife Aquarium. But, if it is the Orlando Theme Parks that you want to visit, the Hyatt Regency Orlando is still right in the heart of the action and you have easy access to all parks, with SeaWorld and Universal Orlando just a few miles away, and all of the Walt Disney World Parks just a little further out. In fact, the Hyatt Regency Orlando is a "Universal Partner Hotel" and has scheduled daily shuttle services to Universal Orlando; this is another inclusion of the Resort Fee, all you need to do is to make reservations within 24-hours at the property's Universal Vacation Experience Desk located outside the hotel gift shop. And, you also have quick and easy access to SeaWorld Orlando via the I-Ride Trolley. There is not shuttle service to Walt Disney World, but you can get there very easily via ride-share. So, as you can see, the Hyatt Regency Orlando is in the perfect location for your Orlando Vacation! Should you be in town for a Conference and not the Theme Parks, the Hyatt Regency Orlando is also very centrally located. It is connected directly to several of the Orange County Convention Center's main concourses by covered sky bridges, making this property perfect should you be in town for any conference located at the OCCC. Or, if you are lucky enough to have your Conference hosted at the Hyatt Regency Orlando, it has some of the most spectacular Conference Facilities of any hotel in the region! Its Conference Facilities aside, the Hyatt Regency Orlando is truly a beautiful Resort. It is comprised of two high towers that dominate the I-Drive Skyline and surround its lush pool complex. The property actually features two excellent pool complexes, one is a more laid-back and relaxing pool above the hotel entry plaza and the other is a spectacular grotto-style pool, offering beautiful waterfall features and a fun water-slide. Both pools offer ample seating with plentiful shade umbrellas and for the ultimate in luxury-relaxation there are some recently updated private cabanas available for rent at a very reasonable rate that includes private lounge seating with a TV, small refrigerator and unlimited shade. All-in-all, the absolute best pool resort complexes that you will find on I-Drive! In addition to the Hyatt Regency Orlando's excellent pool complexes, do not miss out on its truly heavenly spa! The Spa at the Hyatt Regency Orlando offers some of the best massages that you will ever find in Orlando, and with a treatment, you also gain access to Jacuzzi tubs and a private and relaxing outdoor hot tub area, away from the hustle and bustle of the main pool complex. All-in-all, one of the finest spas that you will find in the region! Finally, the Hyatt Regency Orlando offers a massive 24-hour Fitness Center and Peloton Studio. Truly one of the best equipped Resort Fitness Centers in the area! Now, with all of that being said and all of the truly amazing amenities that the Hyatt Regency Orlando has to offer, this is a "Resort" property in Orlando, which means that there is no escape from the ubiquitous "Resort Fee" that has become all-to-common in the region. The Resort Fee at the Hyatt Regency Orlando is in-line with that of most properties in the area, and will cost you $48/day. This fee is most reasonable when you consider all that it includes: -Upgraded Guestroom WiFi -Two I-Ride Trolley tickets to the I-Drive area -15% discount on spa and salon services -25% discount on cabana rentals (based on availability) -Daily Recreational activities at Grotto Pool -Daily $10 Food & Beverage Credit -Two (2) bottled waters per day -Access to 32 EV Charging Stations -Scheduled Shuttle service to Universal Resort, SeaWorld & Aquatica -Fitness Center Classes -Welcome Glass of Champagne in Descend 21 -Daily rental of 1 basic pool float With the complimentary shuttle service alone, you more than make up for that fee when you consider the cost of ride-share services that are often charged via Uber's "surge" pricing models at peak park opening and closing times. So, the Resort Fee at the Hyatt Regency Orlando is actually a pretty good value compared to that at many other properties! Oh, also a quick note on the "Upgraded Guestroom WiFi" included in the Resort Fee; unlike many properties in the Orlando Resort Area that offer "free WiFi," the WiFi speed at the Hyatt Regency Orlando was exceptional -- I have never had any issue with WiFi connectivity at this property, and the WiFi continues to be strong whether in your room, a dining venue or the pool. Definitely a great perk to stay connected! As for the rooms and suites on property, all are very modern and spacious, offering some of the largest base rooms on I-Drive! The base rooms at Hyatt Regency Orlando start at 415-square feet with the option of booking "larger" guest rooms at 470-square feet or significantly larger suites. The Hyatt Regency Orlando has some of the best Suites! We have stayed in multiple different rooms and suites over the years and we have never had a bad experience! In addition to being spacious and modern, every room at the Hyatt Regency Orlando is equipped with a large marble bathroom to include the Hyatt-brand's high-end Pharmacopia bath products, a mini-fridge and amazing 65-inch televisions equipped with ChromeCast for easy media streaming. Although I am sure that you will be happy with any room on property, for the best experience, I would suggest Pool View Rooms as they provide some of the best views of I-Drive and maybe even the theme park fireworks. All-in-all, you will find each and every room at the Hyatt Regency Orlando to be amazing and certainly the best that you will find on I-Drive! For this stay, we booked at the very last minute and ended up in a high-floor 1-Bedroom King Suite. It was a beautiful room, with a large separate living area and offered beautiful views of SeaWorld Orlando's new nightly drone and fireworks show. Numerous photos of our Suite are posted with this review. Finally, as for Dining, you will never go hungry during your stay at the Hyatt Regency Orlando! In addition to all of the amazing local venues on I-Drive, you have ample options on property as the Hyatt Regency Orlando boats six excellent venues! First, for excellent coffee, snacks and quick bites, you will find the "Market." Such "Market" venues are becoming the norm at Hyatt Regency Properties world-wide and are perfect to stock-up the mini-fridge or to have a quick meal. For a relaxing and casual comfort-food meal at anytime of the day, make sure to visit "B-Line Diner," offering truly amazing diner-style delights and some of the best breakfast food around! For poolside food and beverage, "Coconuts Poolside Bar & Grill" offers great poolside food, along with heavenly tropical drinks. An addition since our last stay is the relatively new "Descend 21." This wonderful venue is a great sports-bar style venue featuring both indoor and outdoor seating along with excellent entertainment options such as Topgolf Swing Suites, pool tables, darts and multiple TVs showing every game imaginable! In addition to all of that, for some excellent light bites and amazing craft cocktails, make sure to visit "Rocks" just off of the main lobby each evening! Finally, for the most amazing dining option on property, do not miss out on dinner at "Fiorenzo." "Fiorenzo" was actually the main reason for our last-minute trip, as we wanted to an amazing steak dinner, and "Fiorenzo" truly delivered! All-in-all, you will never go hungry during a stay at the Hyatt Regency Orlando. One last thing to mention -- unlike most properties worldwide since COVID that have closed their Club Lounges, the Hyatt Regency Orlando still offers what is one of the most amazing Regency Club Lounges of any Hyatt Property. Located near the top of Tower 2, the Hyatt Regency Orlando's Regency Club offers spectacular views of the I-Drive Area -- and the Theme Park Fireworks! The Regency Club offers great breakfast options, snacks throughout the day and an excellent spread of appetizers -- both hot and cold -- each evening. So, if you want to spoil yourself, book a Regency Club Room. To wrap up this review, let me just say that the Hyatt Regency Orlando truly is your best option if your travels bring you to the Orlando I-Drive area. Offering truly top-notch service, modern and spacious rooms with spectacular views and a heavenly pool complex, make sure not to miss out on a stay the Hyatt Regency Orlando!
