Loved Osaka, Really Loved the W!

Loved staying at the W Osaka. Besides the usual W trendy livliness, we really appreciated the very charming and more international Asian staff, drawn from places like the Philippines and Vietnam. Compared with the fully Japanese staff at the other hotels we stayed at during this trip (including American brands like Hyatt), the staff at the W was more engaging and fluent in English. Much of that might have a lot to do with Osaka, which is a much more lively and diverse place than Tokyo, Kanazawa and Matsumoto (the other places we stayed during this trip). The hotel is very well run, breakfast was very good, the room was beautiful and super comfortable (we were upgraded to a corner room bc of our high Marriott status). The only negative is the intense morning sun requiring us to keep the blinds nearly fully drawn overnight, depriving us of the stunning nighttime view. It is a long annoying taxi ride from the Shinkansen train station, but we loved the location once we arrived. It is on a posh high end shopping boulevard, but also just a couple blocks from lively shopping and restaurant arcades of Dotonbori. We had a fabulous birthday dinner at the fancy teppanyaki restaurant at the hotel. The clientele is about 90% Asian, not sure how many were Japanese vs other.

Great experience!

Amazing massage experience. We liked it so much that we repeat during the week. Tomoko has strong pressure hands working like a rolfing session so she pressures the tension all the way out till the end of the muscle neutralizing the tensions. Ana was the other therapist (we did couple massage) and she was more relaxing (less pressure) but that was what I needed the second day. I was unable to be awaken and had a great sleep during the back massage. Beside great therapists the place was very nice with correct temperature and illumination, relaxing music and perfect preparation and after massage recovery.

Very nice rooms, convenient location and excellent service by staff.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights during our recent tour of Japan. It is conveniently located very near Hommachi subway station which provides easy connections along several subway lines. It's a bit of a taxi drive from the main Shin-Osaka railway station but still easy to get to. Nice neighbourhood with plenty of high-end shops, restaurant choices, etc. We had original booked a "wonderdul" room but received an upgrade to a "spectacular" room, which we obviously appreciated. Check-in was quick and efficient. Our room was a very generous size corner room on a high floor with a very nice view. Even the bathtub came with a view! A nice small walk-in closet and plenty of space and amenities. This hotel has a very particular style and "vibe", which I would describe as very youthful, hip and loud. It isn't really the style I would normally go for. But in any event, it didn't detract from a high standard of quality and service. We ate in one of the restaurants one night (we typically prefer to eat outside the hotel) and service was very friendly and good. The breakfast buffet was very varied and catered to all tastes. All in all a very positive experience. I would recommend this hotel.

Amazing stay at the W Hotel — and a huge shoutout to their Insider, Maurizio!!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Me and my friend stayed at the W, and it was honestly one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever been to. The spa was incredible, the food and drinks were amazing, and the whole atmosphere just felt so fun and luxurious. What really made the stay unforgettable, though, was their Insider, Maurizio. He went above and beyond — gave us amazing local food recommendations, connected me with one of his friends who’s an omakase chef (which ended up being one of the best meals of my trip), and was just so kind and attentive the entire time. You can tell he genuinely cares about making every guest’s experience special. If you’re staying at the W, definitely talk to Maurizio! He’ll make sure your stay goes from great to unforgettable.
