We had a great stay at the W - amazing hospitality and service. I also got a great massage from Anna who tuned me right up and allowed me to enjoy the rest of my trip.

Wonderful City Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

This is a fantastic city hotel with a 5-7 minute walk to the famous street "Dotonbori". The hotel was in true W fashion, with an edgy, youthful decor and vibrant colors throughout. The ground level has two entrances, one for cars and the other that leads to the main street, which features a futuristic-style tunnel. Besides the entrances, there was also a concierge desk and some couches for sitting in the middle. The actual check-in desks were on the W floor. And also in true W style, during happy hour, a resident DJ was playing some beats. As part of our elite status with Bonvoy, we were upgraded to the W suite. The suite itself was incredible, very spacious and clean, and the overall design was comfortable with a hint of W vibe, especially the optional blue light surrounding the full-length mirror in the bedroom. As our suite was also a corner room, the bedroom boasts a phenomenal panoramic view of Osaka City. The walk-in closet was a sweet space for our luggage and for changing, and it also features a 30-second automatic light timer. During our stay, we spent some time at the pool, which was beautiful in its own way. The elevator opened up to a check-in desk, and I was escorted inside with introductions to all facilities. It was an indoor pool, which was of decent size for a good swim, the loungers were comfortable and plush, and the environment was visually spacious due to the use of glass as barriers rather than solid walls. The check-in desk outside also had a clear view of the pool. The ladies' changing room had good facilities, including a jacuzzi and steam room. The only thing I was disappointed about was the fact that there was no sauna, while the men's changing room was equipped with one. The service overall at this hotel was great, and the staff were attentive and friendly. We ordered room service once for a glass of rosé champagne; the entirety of the delivery took roughly 15 minutes, which also included a mistaken delivery of the wrong champagne. We stayed 3 nights over the weekend, which included a Friday. The breakfast buffet spread was incredible, on par with Asian standards that we always expected. Our Friday buffet experience was the best; however, the service level declined, and the wait time increased as Saturday and Sunday rolled along, as the crowd had increased. When we checked out on Sunday, there was a line for breakfast from 9 am, we asked for a table as we simply wanted a quick breakfast before checking out, and within a minute or two, a staff came to give us a table. This was another great experience that we had. One thing to note, for those who are interested in visiting W Osaka, is that they open up breakfast for reservation for outside guests, so when the weekend comes, outside visitors can also come for breakfast, and it is no longer for in-house guests only, the team also do not prioritize in-house guests, so it turned out to be a first-come-first-serve basis. This system, to my knowledge, most likely applies to all other properties in Asia as part of their culture. Overall, we were satisfied with W Osaka, and we had a very pleasant stay. I recommend this hotel, and should we return to Osaka, this property would be on our list for consideration.

Warm Experience with W Osaka

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Having been Osaka more than 20yrs and first time staying at W Osaka. Compare to my previous stays at St Regis in 2024, and Ritz the past many years which are totally different style, W Osaka truly lived the spirit of Osaka with young, vibe, active and creative. It is much closer to everythings, shops, favorite restaurants, sights and sounds, compare to others. Special thanks to everyone warmly welcome me, Louise and Jessie (I know them since JW Marriott in Bangkok who host my company events), Songhui (Exoerience Agent), Wilson (Concierge), Bailey (Welcomr Desk Manager), Jason (trainer at gym), and many others in the multinational crew in the hotel. Thank you!
