Hotel Continental Oslo is a graceful Victorian era hotel that is family-run, gorgeously designed, and overlooks Palace Park. The hotel is a mix of contemporary and classic decor and the rooms and suites are all individually designed with pristine bathrooms. The accommodations are spacious and bright, some with beautiful wooden floors, silk bedding, city views and terraces with views of the fjord. The Theatercaféen is an absolute must and it remains one of the places to see with its Vienna coffee house décor. Portraits of renowned past and present patrons adorn the walls, and the menu is based on the best seasonal ingredients. Staff are friendly and relaxed, and there is a pleasant bar.

Beautiful Junior Suite room. Spacious, comfy bed, clean and large bathroom. And one of the best breakfasts that we've had in a hotel in the past 5 years. The scrambled eggs were perfectly textured (not lumpy or dry) and nicely seasoned (something that is often overlooked). In some days they also had a crispy roasted pork belly for breakfast which was fabulous. Perfect way to start the day!

The location is perfect and the room was beautiful. But, the “concierge” service was unacceptable and it detracted from the overall experience. A 5* luxury hotel, and a member of LHW, should have a proper, professional, concierge. Instead, they have someone in the back, who pretends to be a concierge, and she provides inaccurate and incorrect information. Her inaccuracy and incomplete information ruined my stay. For example, when I reached out, about 4 weeks pre-arrival, to book a private museum tour, she actually accepted and confirmed the booking. It was only when I was disembarking a ship did she finally “wake up” and realize that the museum was closed on Monday. Did a “concierge” not know that the museum was closed when I made the booking 4 weeks earlier? And then I had to fight and argue and negotiate to refund my money for the pre-booked tour. She also advised me to take the train from the airport, but failed to tell me that there are 2 exits in the train station, and, the incorrect exit, the one I used, was a full 10 minutes walk away from the hotel, which is quite a distance when pulling luggage in an unfamiliar city. This is information that should be told to a guest arriving to a “luxury” hotel. The worst part was that when i asked to speak to a manager, “Andrea” at front desk told me that no manager was available on a Sunday, but, when pressed, “Andrea” finally admitted that she was, in fact, the duty manager. This was completely unacceptable. Apparently “Andrea” likes to pretend to not be a manager until the guest insists to speak to a manager. “Gabriel” in the restaurant was the “only” staff member who exhibited any kind, personal, service. I would never stay here again and I do not recommend.

This hotel is beautiful located right next to the train station and walking distance to the National Theatre and Palace. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. They offer a delicious breakfast with many choices. There are 2 restaurants - a more formal choice and a pizzeria giving you a choice. There is also a bar with enough space to sit and relax with family or friends. The rooms are clean and comfortable and everything needed to rest. Good internet service.

It is always a great pleasure returning to Hotel Continental. Upon entering you notice that it is a privately owned and very well managed hotel where the employees seem to work their whole life. THe professionalism and at the same time the friendliness always makes you feel welcome and comfortable. In addition it goes without saying that the general quality of the restaurants, bars and the rooms are top notch. Anybody visiting Oslo should stay at Hotel Continental at least once. Afterwards you will always return.

The room and especially the bedding was really great. Maked you want to come back It is a pleasure to find hotel in the Nordics where service is still a value and this clearly is one of them.. super service and very attentive staff. The breakfast is excellent and recomendable A benefit that I wished I had known is the Airport Train stops basically 100 meters from the hotel, saving you a cab fare from the Central station. Back to the Airport was 42 minutes from leaving the hotel till past security in Gardermoen Airport..
