The hotel is absolutely beautiful. However the service leaves a lot to be desired and certain elements of the hotel don’t function well. We were exhausted and wanted to have a bite in the hotel restaurant. At 5:30pm we walked in and there were two tables occupied but probably 30 or more open and we were told they were fully booked and sent away. They didn’t even offer to send food to our room until we complained at the front desk. Then there was no hot water to shower and we had to bring it up twice before they told us we could shower at the spa where there was hot water. But of course then the elevator wasn’t functioning. It was like this every step of the way making the stay difficult and frustrating. And it was very expensive

The room service was outstanding - anything I needed was provided within five minutes. The hotel was very clean and the staff was excellent. I feel I got good value for money. The location is very central

An absolutely wonderful hotel; beautiful room, lovely staff, excellent breakfast, marvellous spa and perfectly situated. Can’t find a fault. Highly recommend.

The location of this hotel was the best in Oslo. We had a room overlooking the harbour it was beautiful. We loved the spa and the breakfast had plenty of choice. All the staff were very friendly and helpful . We especially enjoyed the boat trip and a tram trip to the ski jumps which allowed us to enjoy the countryside. We had come to watch the diamond league but Oslo was beautiful and we would love to return .

We are so happy that we chose to stay at The Thief for the last 3 nights of a one month trip through the Arctic. It started with a call to Axel to have a car pick us up at the airport and it ended with arrangements for a car to take us back to the airport- seamless. In between we had a beautiful executive suite in a hotel that was away from city center, but within walking distance. Being at the harbor was lovely. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a huge selection and most friendly staff. The rooftop for drinks after a long day exploring was welcoming. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else in Oslo. Wish I could have stayed longer
