The Westin Ottawa

I love the Westin and have stayed here many times. Conveniently located only 25 minutes from the airport, across the street from Rideau Canal, connected to the Rideau Centre mall and within walking distance from Parliament and many of Ottawa's tourist attractions. Rooms are clean, updated and quite comfortable. You can even get rooms with a view of Parliament. Underground paid parking, nice restaurant and quick snack area as well.

Convenient downtown location and helpful staff made my three-night stay pleasant; front desk kindly extended checkout to 1pm for my late flight and provided a South African plug adapter on arrival. Rooms are clean and comfortable but furniture feels dated. No meals included—expect to pay premium prices, like 48 CAD for toast and coffee at Daly’s (3rd floor). Overall nice, just manage expectations on value.

I usually stay at the Westin Ottawa 2-3 times a year when visiting family in Ottawa, with my most recent trips being April and September 2025. I do have to say that the service has improved significantly from my first visits a few years ago. The staff at the front desk and the restaurant are all lovely. The hotel has also upgraded the elevators. The rooms are all a decent size, and the location can’t be beat. The only slight negative is the lack of a lounge, but the breakfast vouchers do help. I had a minor hiccup on a recent stay when the toilet in my bathroom backed up due to the neighbouring room. However, I have to commend Jaspreet Oberoi on the excellent service recovery. Within 10 minutes of the issue being reported I had a new room to stay in. Luckily I was checking out the same day, so it wasn’t too much of an inconvenience. Overall, a great property and I continue to look forward to staying here on future trips.

The Westin Ottawa Ottawa Right In The Heart Of Downtown Ottawa - Truly Spectacular Service! 1036109371 We were attending a wedding in Ottawa and wanted to stay downtown. This hotel is located right downtown just steps away from the Parliament Buildings so we booked the Deluxe Parliament View Room with a King bed for the night. Checking in was super easy and the staff were all so incredibly friendly. The room itself was stunning with a great view of the parliament buildings! Special thanks to Concierge Andrew C. for including the "Romance Package" that came with a bottle of Prosecco and some chocolate covered strawberries!! The breakfast buffet, which was included was also spectacular - there were so many freshly prepared, delicious items to choose from! The only things that they could probably improve would be the parking, which is $50 per night - we found some parking nearby for $30, which is still expensive. Also - it would be nice to have a bathtub in the room - but they are getting harder and harder to find nowadays. The ByWard market is also very close and there are tons of restaurants, cafes, bars and other entertainment venues located there. Overall, this was a fantastic stay and highly recommended.

I stayed at The Westin Ottawa in October 2025 for one night and left the next morning covered in bed bug bites that were medically confirmed by a healthcare professional. I haven’t travelled anywhere in the past year, so this hotel was the only possible source. I reported it to management two days later, but they dismissed my concern after an EcoLab inspection came back “negative.” Despite that, I’m still dealing with the aftermath - discarded luggage, expenses, and a great deal of distress. I expected far more accountability from a Marriott-branded property. I’ve since reported the incident to Ottawa Public Health to ensure no other guests experience this.
