We had the great pleasure of staying at this resort – and it was simply perfect from start to finish. The entire staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive. You can immediately feel that everyone is highly trained in dealing with guests. Every interaction, whether at reception, in the restaurant, or with the service team, was warm, professional, and truly impressive. A special thank you goes to Shappon, who kept our villa in absolutely spotless condition – the cleaning was always flawless and done with such care. We also greatly appreciated the warm and friendly assistance from Viktoriia, who looked after us in the most attentive way and made our stay even more enjoyable. Our villa itself was an absolute highlight: 393 m² of living space and a 1,000 m² garden – larger and more beautiful than we ever imagined. The facilities are fantastic, modern, and at the same time wonderfully comfortable. Everything is in immaculate condition; it’s clear that every detail is cared for with great dedication. Our stay was a world-class experience in every way. We would have loved to stay longer and can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone who values quality, genuine hospitality, and a stunning setting. An unforgettable stay

This is truly a gem of a resort on a tiny island in the middle of the Indian Ocean! Stayed in the Grand Hawksbill which offered plenty of room, a nice pool and its own beach area where we saw sea turtles, baby sharks, tons of colourful fish and sting rays. The room and pool area was cleaned extremely well every day. Lana, our personal concierge was amazing and catered to all our needs, bookings were made immediately such as tennis, kayaking, dinner, etc. The overall service was exceptional throughout the resort. I would just recommend more signs throughout the resort to direct to places like the fitness centre/tennis, the spa etc…

Very nice island that used to be a coconut farm, beautifully transformed into a modern, stylisch and amazing resort. The modern villas are spacious and stylish, each with a private pool and plenty of privacy thanks to the generous distance between neighboring villas. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, making the stay feel warm and personal. Each villa has a personal assistant that takes care of every wish you might have. Guest have their own bike twith your name tag on it to explore the island. Go to Shark point for snorkelling, we saw plenty of fisch, sea turtles, baby sharks and various rays. And try the fermented coconut yogurt for breakfast! There are a number of enjoyable activities, including kayaking, snorkeling, and stargazing, which add to the overall experience. It’s the perfect place for relaxation, comfort, and a touch of adventure in a stunning natural setting.

We had absolutely the best experience at WA Seychelles. Given its relatively new, the property is a surprisingly well-oiled machine, which showcases true hospitality. I would say this without any hesitation: between here and multiple similar resorts I’ve stayed at in the Maldives, Caribbean, SE Asia, etc., we had absolutely the best service here. From managers to our personal concierge to those working at restaurants, bars, spas, everyone we interacted with had the utmost enthusiasm, while maintaining a high level of professionalism. This is not something easy to find these days. Shout out to our personal concierge, Yogi, who went above and beyond during our stay to make it more memorable and amazing. I feel concierges set an important tone for resort stays, and it wouldn’t have been the same without Yogi. She was always quick to respond to messages, and she was always one step ahead, proactively offering what I was just about to ask for. Seriously, I can’t even remember encountering a concierge nearly as wonderful as her. Yogi is most definitely a treasure at WA Seychelles, and we miss her dearly, even more than the island itself. Also, shout out to the housekeeping team Upendra and Priyantha, who worked diligently behind the scenes to keep the villa clean and tidy. Their attention to detail is unbelievable - even my randomly placed sunglasses would be wiped clean and put on a brand new cloth with wet wipes next to it. The thoughtfulness goes a long way. The island does have its own pros and cons, of course. It’s quiet, so far away from any light pollution, which makes for great stargazing. The landscaping is fantastic with tall trees all around, so you’ll never feel too exposed to the sun. On the other hand, waters are rather murky with lots of seagrasses, and beaches do have lots of seashells and rocks, which make them a little rough to walk on than ideal. Also during high tide, beaches could be almost submerged. To us, though, it didn’t matter that much because we loved staying in the villa, and the villa couldn’t be more luxurious. With the three-part floor plan - living room, bedroom, and bathroom - that’s a massive amount of space for 2 people. Not to mention the beautifully appointed private pool, overlooking the huge back yard. Inside the villa, designs are modern while maintaining a certain elegance. Definitely one of the most well-built new resorts. Overall, what a fantastic stay, and we couldn’t wait to tell everyone we know what a wonderful time is to be had here.

Waldorf Astoria Seychelles is a fabulous resort with one main flaw so it might not be an ideal fit for all travellers. The flaw is that none of the villas have sea views, there are no beach villas, no overwater villas, etc. In other words, all villas are inland and the island is flat (as per the name) so no hills and consequently no views. My first thoughts when the hotel opened 1.5 year ago is that the lack of views was a hard pill to swallow which is why I stayed on the sidelines at the beginning, but they finally convinced me to book there when they rolled out a free flight promo (from SEZ airport to Platte). But now that I have seen the resort, I am sold, I would return with no hesitation. The weakness of WA is actually also its strength which is what I did not foresee. By avoiding to build villas overwater or near the water, the beach can be described as "raw" which is something we can rarely find anywhere in the world for such resorts. The feeling of remoteness and privacy is off the charts. When walking on the beach you do not see any villas plus there is hardly anybody on the beach itself. The resort has fewer than 50 villas and the island is not that small, and they only reach 50% occupancy on their busy days; usually it's less. The only time of day where we saw several people was during breakfast. The rest of the day, guests were scattered everywhere... either on day tours, maybe some people stayed in their private pool, or went to main pool, or to the bar, the restaurants, etc. We could go to the beach for a couple of hours and hardly see anybody. The kids club was usually entirely for us. Also the fact that the resort is untouched except inside the island means the natural habitat has been preserved. We saw sea turtles, baby sharks, thousands of crabs, etc. Also there are giant tortoises on the island. I expected Seychelles to be similar to Maldives but actually there are more differences than similarities, the natural environment being the main one. Also in the Maldives resort you normally get there by seaplane because the islands are small and you cannot land a plane there. But Platte Island is just big enough to have a landing strip on the entire length of the resort, splitting the island in two. So it's equally remote and private as the Maldives, but the island is simply bigger. In contrast, in most Maldives resorts the construction density is fairly high, some islands are entirely man made, coincidentally, like WA Maldives. In Seychelles having a private untouched island like this is quite special, and it makes me more accepting of the lack of views from our villa. Anyway we could just walk out and lay on the beach right in front of our villa whenever we wanted. In terms of service, WA Seychelles is world class and can compete with the best. They constantly anticipated our needs and there were lots of small details not missed, thanks to our personal concierge Donia. We received engraved license plates with our name on the bicycles. I have never seen so much baby-related equipment which is stunning for such a remote resort with so few rooms, they even had a baby monitor with camera which we could use if we were going outdoors while our baby was sleeping indoors, a baby bottle sterilizer, etc. I suspect staff must study each client profile ahead of time and share information between them, because wherever we met different staff, they knew many things about us and put themselves in a position to have a meaningful well informed conversation. Even staff which were probably not supposed to meet us (like housekeeping) were prepared in the odd chance that we would run into them. Very impressive. Food is not nearly as "wow" and flashy as in the Maldives. It was more basic, fewer protein dishes, and more expensive too. Partially offsetting this, they organized a private dinner one night for us (off menu) with dishes on demand to meet our desires which is just another of long string of examples of good service. The staff are all-stars hired from the finest resorts all over the world. In total there are about 200 staff compared to far fewer guests at any point in time. While food was expensive, drinks were not. We brought some booze with us which limited costs (something which is not allowed in the Maldives) but even what was available on the resort was surprisingly reasonably priced. Last but not least, the villa. As expected the quality of construction was very high. I booked the entry level room and as Hilton Lifetime Diamond we received an upgrade to their highest category of 1-bdr villa of which they only have 3 on the resort. It was bigger than the lesser room types, there was sort of an extension with sofa bed so it could be used as second bedroom with a full second bathroom. Privacy from our villa was perfect due to foliage. The beach was close but somewhat hidden by trees and plants. Overall it's probably top 10 of any hotel where we have stayed ever, perhaps even top 5, out of the several hundreds of hotels that we have reviewed here before. I would not have guessed this at first because I love sea views so I had tempered expectations going in, but they more than made up for it in so many other ways.
