Luxury!

Our stay at Waldorf Astoria Platte Island was nothing less than extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were immersed in effortless luxury, pristine nature, and flawless service. Our villa was stunning with complete privacy, breathtaking views, and absolute tranquility. Every detail felt thoughtful and refined, from the cuisines to the amenities and the warmth of the team. A very special thank you to the entire staff, whose genuine care elevated our experience but mostly fir our private concierge, Viktoria. Her attentiveness, grace, and ability to anticipate every need made our stay truly exceptional. This is barefoot luxury at its finest (no mosquitoes) , and a destination we never forget

Bespoke luxury at its highest level

Dubbed by Forbes as “one of the world’s finest properties”, after our stay, it truly lived up to the reputation in every sense. I’m not quite sure where to even begin. The hotel itself is situated on a private island. By definition, this removes all barriers between you, the guest, and mother nature. Throughout our stay we encountered baby sharks, turtles, crabs, and the blissful sound and smell of trees, birds, and rain. Despite being a small island, it boasts several restaurants, a full fledged spa (with jacuzzi, sauna, and steam rooms), a kids club, fitness center, and much more. In a sense it’s a mini-city, all to yourself. Getting around the island is easy and convenient, either with your own complimentary bicycle (engraved with your name!) or via on-demand, 24/7 buggy. There’s something surreal about biking on a real aircraft runway to cross to the other side of the island. The villa itself is mesmerizing. Boasting its own private pool and direct beach access, it is enclosed by trees, offering privacy at all times. The furniture, finishes, bedding, towels, toiletries (Aesop), are all excellent and extremely comfortable. Thanks to our amazing housekeepers Zeeshan and Abdul, every night the villa would be in impeccable condition, complete with treats (chocolates, pastries, etc), and even finding (by surprise) a hot bath already prepared with bath salts, candles, and flowers. Unlike at other hotels, we never needed to ask for anything throughout our entire stay, as everything was always there in abundance — for example, plenty of bath and beach towels (at least 6 or 7), at least 4 large bottles of water, etc. — giving the sensation of being right at home. There is no shortage of things to do, with both complimentary and paid activities available. Snorkeling, kayak tours, fire shows, coconut painting, cocktail nights, and more are all free. The property also boasts many restaurants which were world-class culinary experiences. The island’s executive chef, Seb, can be seen multiple times a day at many of the restaurants, directly greeting guests and performing quality control. The island also offers culinary classes, of which we participated in both the “cookies” and “sushi” masterclasses. The chefs were extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and it was a memorable experience that transcends just the food itself. Perhaps the best experience of all is the in-villa BBQ, where your backyard is transformed into a private restaurant. I was shocked by the thoroughness and number of staff that were involved in making this experience possible — hours before the dinner, they added measures to prevent mosquitoes so that our outdoor experience would be as comfortable as possible. They set up chairs, a beautifully decorated table with flowers, outdoor string lights, and of course the chef’s grill and mini-kitchen. What ensued was a beautiful multi-course dinner, entirely of our choosing. This was bespoke luxury at its highest level, and it was made possible by the two chefs (including the island’s executive sous chef) and waiter that catered to us throughout the entire night. I have yet to see such an experience offered at any other property I have ever stayed at. If all of the aforementioned is still not enough, the best part of the experience was the service and hospitality offered by the island’s staff. We enjoyed nonstop smiles and grace from everyone on the island, whether it be at breakfast, in the reception, buggy drivers, housekeepers, or gardeners. However, what transcended our already amazing experience was the attentiveness and care offered by our personal concierge, Viktoriia. From the moment we landed until the second we left, she was proactive and thoughtful. She was the perfect liaison in helping us book and coordinate all the different expediences (both paid and free) on the island, and was constantly monitoring and rearranging things as needed based on weather conditions. Every aspect of our experience was carefully catered by her - for example, providing us with water/aqua shoes that we could use throughout our stay, dropping by during one of our rainy days with handmade flowers (beautifully made of plants!) and puzzles, helping pick out snorkeling equipment, reminding restaurant staff of our food preferences, checking in when we’d like our room to be serviced (both morning and night), and so much more behind the scenes. Her kind spirit made our stay especially easy, and it is obvious that she loves what she does. Thank you again to Viktoriia and the rest of the team for the level of service — the best I have ever experienced at any 5* hotel I have visited.

Outstanding hotel in the Indian Ocean

This hotel is outstanding, the location is super exclusive, the food excellent and the atmosphere very relaxing. The hotel is spread out over the small island, which is a great plus because you feel like blended into the nature. The villas offer a private pool and are luxuriously spacious. A great plus: three different restaurants with unique style and meals, so you can enjoy excuisite dinners. The hotel offers a lot of different activities from snorkeling to Spa treatments. Everything is extremely well organized and the team has a great spirit. A private concierge (in our case Yogi) is organizing your stay - which is just perfect. You feel that everyone's highly keen on making your stay as best as it can be.

Great unaltered natural location. Great tropical weather with friendly atmosphere. Rooms spacious but the chairs and couches are not comfortable. Beds are amazing. Great value for the price. Exquisitely clean. No noise except for the waves and wind on trees and birds. Service is 6 stars
