First time in Aruba

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

First time in Aruba, traveled with my wife and 1.5 year old daughter. This hotel is impressive. The grounds and property are truly breathtaking. From the open air lobby, to the pool, and grounds, you have plenty of palm trees, rock features, greenery, and crystal blue water to see. We felt like we’re in Hawaii when we walked into the lobby. We passed numerous other hotels while walking around the area and their beach/pool/lobby did not hold a candle to how nice the Hyatt was. The property is laid out nicely. It seems larger than it is, but everything is easy to access. We went back and forth from pool to beach to meals with ease. The staff was exceptional. Johanna in housekeeping cleaned our room unlike any hotel I’ve ever been too. Naturally with a 1.5 year old, our room was a little messy and busy. My wife and I were both blown away when we walked into our room after she had just finished cleaning. All of our belongings were neatly organized and she had cleaned parts of the room that I would never expect a routine cleaning to include. Thankfully she was cleaning the room next door and were able to thank her for her hospitality. I also want to praise Stefan and William at Concierge/Bell Services. Our daughter became ill and she needed medical attention. Stefan contacted the nearby urgent care and made sure they would be open for us(it was getting late) when we arrived. William then drove us straight to the urgent care so we would be seen before closing. William then drove us to a local pharmacy and waited for us to fill our prescription before returning us to our hotel. What we initially feared to be a vacation worst nightmare turned out to be a quick 1.5 hour hiccup that got us right back to our vacation thanks to the help of these 2 gentleman. Bingo is a lot of fun at the pool; Augie brings a lot of life to Bingo. The hotel pools(adult and regular) are really nice. And my wife and I got some laughs from the water slide, which was surprisingly longer than it looks. My only complaint with this hotel is the quality of food, portions, and pricing of food and drinks. I would’ve liked to have eaten more on the grounds, but the food just wasn’t impressive. We dined at Ruinas Del Mar, and it left a lot to be desired. Food was overpriced and not really tasty. Resort wide, the drinks at the bars were weak for the prices that were charged. If I’m paying $20 for a cocktail I’d like it to use good ingredients. We ordered chicken quesadillas as a snack one day and for $20 it was actually just 2 chicken and cheese tacos. Would’ve spent more time and meals at the resort if the food and drinks weren’t disappointing or overpriced. However, Overall we loved our stay here. When we return to Aruba; we will stay here. Tips: Eat breakfast at Scott’s Brats(right next to property on beach), walk to the strip(5 minute walk) and buy your own beer and alcohol to bring to property; be sure to reserve your beach chairs ahead of Time(get a Palapa) and don’t bother paying extra for a better spot(they are all close enough to the water).

Lovely hotel and beach, with welcoming staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

The Hyatt property was beautifully maintained, with carefully groomed gardens and very pleasant common areas. The staff were consistently courteous, kind, and welcoming. Smoking in the common areas, particularly cigar smoking, should be more carefully monitored. Some guests were lacking in courtesy and consideration, and should have been redirected more readily by staff. In some areas, the music was loud and percussive, and not conducive to rest and relaxation. I would suggest that Hyatt think more carefully about what sort of musical backdrop they have in their dining and lounge areas in particular. Driving dance music isn't always a pleasant accompaniment to a meal. Though the property itself and the beachfront are beautiful, the nearby commercial areas are garish and loud in the evening, with bright lights and a great deal of noise. It's unfortunate that so-called development and a tacky casino culture have marred this lovely island.

Happy with The Hyatt

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

From the moment we arrived, the Hyatt Regency Aruba exceeded every expectation. The resort is immaculate—rooms and common areas are cleaned daily, and the entire property feels fresh, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. The pools are crystal clear and truly world-class, surrounded by lush landscaping and tranquil koi ponds that add to the serene atmosphere. Dining at the resort was consistently excellent. Every restaurant served high-quality food with outstanding service, whether we were seated indoors, by the pool, or beachfront. The service staff went above and beyond, delivering food and refreshments directly to our loungers while we relaxed in the sun—each detail handled with care and genuine hospitality. This is the perfect destination to rest, recover, and renew. Between the pristine beach, the inviting pools, and the sense of calm that fills the property, the Hyatt Regency Aruba offers a five-star experience in every sense. Highly recommend it to anyone seeking both luxury and relaxation in paradise.
