Reviews for Gran Melia Victoria

Fabulous hotel

We stayed for a 3 night city break to do some sightseeing. As soon as you pull up at the hotel you get a lovely welcome from the staff. The Reception area is very impressive. Check in was quick and efficient. We had a red level supreme room with views of the marina and the cathedral. The room didn’t disappoint, very clean and comfortable, and lots of little extras provided to make it feel special. Comfy chairs on the balcony to sit and watch the sunset over the marina. I didn’t like the glass wall to the bathroom, but that’s my personal preference, and at least there is small curtain to pull over it and the toilet wall wasn’t see through! A couple of very small criticisms, no shower cap provided and there is nowhere with a shelf AND a mirror to dry your hair in front of. Not a big deal though. My husband used the gym a couple of times and said it was very clean with high quality machines. Breakfast was very good, waiter service and/or self service buffet with eggs cooked to order. Lots to choose from and everything was good quality. All of the staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful. We didn’t use any of the other red level benefits so can’t comment on them but definitely worth upgrading. We’d return here, but next time when it’s warmer and we can use the pool. It’s a good base for sightseeing. The hop on hop off bus stops very close to the hotel, it’s easy to get taxis and it’s a pleasant walk along the marina to the cathedral and old town.

Now ruined, avoid.

This used to be a great hotel. Not any more, sadly. It's a half hour walk to town and decent restaurants. That didn't matter much, because the Level (private lounge) was lovely. Then they decided to move the Level to a cold, dark corner and fill it with furniture designed to avoid you getting comfortable. So what now is the point of staying so far from town? That's right, there isn't one. It's a real shame because the staff are lovely. They privately admit this was a big mistake taken on high. But read more reviews here and speak to guests and they all say the same thing; they're not coming back. Such a shame.

Should not be 5star

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We stay in palma at least 5 times a year for between 5/7 nights usually both as a couple or to bring customers. We always use melia hotels and decided to give the Victoria a try as it’s 5 star and we decided just to stay for 3 nights and upgraded to a superior room. Once you leave the stunning reception area the place is anything but 5 star, the carpets are filthy dirty and stained, paint work is heavily chipped and faded, our superior room overlooked a working building site, very poor breakfast selection and what so called hot selection there was available was all stone cold, the inside pool was closed, the rear exit past the outdoor pool on to the front was absolutely filthy dirty, we stayed in room 802 on the 13,14,15 feb 2026,we made a complaint immediately but were offered very little resolution apart from discount next time we stay , why would any one go back .i have held off doing this full review untill now in the hope I could reach a resolution with the hotel guest relations . We are staying in the palm bay virtually next door on the front in May which is 4star and is stunning and yet only 4star but 1000 times better as we went and had a look around.the Victoria is like a posh box of chocolates all fancy packaging ( reception) and utter rubbish inside. I will attach what pictures I have and I also have videos

4.5/5 - A lovely stay at a classic high quality hotel

Our stay at the Victoria Gran Meliá was very enjoyable overall, offering comfort, convenience, and a great location in Palma. The room was comfortable and well-designed, with good lighting, plenty of storage space, and a lovely balcony offering sea views — which really elevated the stay. Everything felt practical and well thought out. Breakfast was good, with a solid selection and good quality, setting us up nicely for the day especially the Spanish hot chocolate. It would be great if churros could be added to the menu! The view from breakfast was immaculate showcasing a scenic sea view with a view of the famous cathedral. We also appreciated the thoughtful catering touches, such as macaron treats and small sweets, which added a nice personal and welcoming detail to the stay. One of the biggest highlights was the indoor pool and sauna, which turned out to be a lifesaver on rainy days and added real value to the experience. The hotel’s location is another strong point. It’s close to key tourist areas, and the promenade walk towards the Old Town is scenic and enjoyable — perfect for relaxed strolls while still being well connected to the city. The only suggestion was that we wish there was a connecting entrance directly from the promenade to the hotel. A special shoutout to the bellboy, who was extremely efficient and helpful with our luggage and made arrival and departure smooth and stress-free. Overall, the Victoria Gran Meliá is a comfortable and well-located hotel with strong amenities. The stay itself was pleasant and worthy of a 4.5 star rating.
