Pleasant boutique hotel in old town Palma

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

This boutique hotel is in an excellent location for exploring the old town on foot. The street itself is nondescript, but just a few minutes' walk brings you to bustling commercial areas with shops and restaurants. Be aware that the hotel is difficult to access by car. Our taxi driver, who had picked us up at the Palma airport, refused to drive the narrow streets, so we had to haul our luggage up the tiled sidewalks a few blocks. For us this was not a big deal, but for people with mobility issues it could be a problem. The hotel is in a former convent, and the original architecture is beautifully preserved. Although our room was small, it was comfortable and very quiet. We had no issue adjusting the air conditioner to our preferred temperature, including overnight when we like our room chilly for sleeping. There wasn't a view at all – just other buildings – but we don't stay in urban hotels for the view. The bath was also very small but had the necessities, although we would have appreciated more than one bath towel and one hand towel per guest, and washcloths would have been helpful. The biggest negative about our stay was that there was a plug-in air freshener in the bathroom, and the smell was overwhelming. Moreover, a puddle of the heavily-scented liquid somehow wound up in the toiletries tray, and we didn't notice it until we discovered that some of our toiletries were wet (and horribly stinky from the air freshener). The smell was tenacious! Perhaps management would consider switching to a diffuser option, or a more delicate fragrance, if one is needed at all. The breakfast buffet that was included with our room rate was stellar. It offered an opulent cold buffet; hot items could be ordered. Orange juice was freshly squeezed. We had a delightful lunch in the Michelin-starred restaurant, but that's a topic for a separate review. Before I conclude this review, I absolutely must mention the service. Everyone employed by the hotel was congenial and helpful, which is not a given even in the so-called hospitality industry! Overall, we enjoyed our stay and hope to return in the not-too-distant future.

Exceptional - be warned, it sets a benchmark for any future hotels.

What a find!

My wife and I popped down to Pa for a couple of days and stayed in this truly wonderful hotel in the heart of the old town of Palma. Understated elegance combined with excellent and very friendly service in an enchanting former (but very comfortable) Monastery superbly located in the old quarter of Palma. Very special!

One of the most beautiful stays in a while, we got the very best service, any wish got delivered in minutes: longer pool service, car rental, recommendations for restaurants or clubs. The service was really really outstanding and everybody was so so lovely! We will for sure come back and enjoy to the max
