Sofitel Legend Casco Viejo

Lovely hotel right in the heart of Casco Viejo. We stayed in a one-bedroom prestige suite. It worked well for our family (parents and 18-year-old daughter) with the pullout couch and hallway half bath. The shower was AMAZING. The water pressure was top-notch, and the facilities were very clean. I am super picky, but I was pleased with the cleanliness. Our spa services were good. We only ate at the pool bar, but the food was delicious. The speakeasy was a vibe; we went there twice after dinner. We never made it to the rooftop bar as there was a fire in the area and it was too smoky the day we had time to visit. My daughter found the hotel to be perfect for her instagram photos as well. My only issue was on my birthday. My husband made them aware of the event the first day we checked in, confirmed it with them the day of, and right before we left for dinner, but they did not do anything to acknowledge the event that day. I travel every year for my birthday, and even the 3-4 star places manage a small gesture to acknowledge the day. Whether at the pool when we ordered lunch (a pastry with a candle), the spa (an add-on service, sample products, or just saying happy birthday), or in the room for turn-down service (towels folded up as little animals with happy birthday spelled out in flowers or the same fruit/champagne set up they gave us when we arrived) - there was ample opportunity for a small gesture. My husband spoke to the manager, and they did offer us a free dinner the next day, but we turned them down. I had our dinner reservations planned out for the trip, and honestly, it wasn't about getting something for free. The moment had passed. Having said that, I would stay here again. I just wouldn't celebrate a milestone here.

Great experience. I booked the Prestige Suite and the butlers, Gerardo and Carlos, were phenomenal. It was my second stay at the Sofitel Casco and I'll probably be back during my next stay in Panama. Location/staff/food/facilities all amazing.

Everything perfect. Service, food, spa, pool. The bed wasn't great, but we did okay. Service is spot on and food quality was worth it. The age of the hotel required they use air fresheners but it wasn't annoying at all. You could tell that staff was taking good care of this age old beauty of a hotel.

We had an unbelievable time in casco viejo Panama and at the Sofitel legend hotel. What a great staff. Beautiful hotel. Clean. Friendly. We loved Arcano and Ammi! Everyone was so accommodating to whatever we needed and very helpful about where to go in the town for good shopping and restaurants. Gerardo was our butler and so very nice and kind. Luisa was very helpful there in securing great dinner reservations. We will be back. Highly recommend this hotel!
