El Mangroove, Autograph Collection

The hotel was nice if you enjoy looking at boats on the ocean. There were 2 public access on both sides of the resort which led to a busy beach. The staff were friendly and the room was clean, however, we felt like we were just at a beach resort. It didn’t feel like an authentic Costa Rica experience like our previous resort. The food was just okay. Do not order the flank steak.

4.5 rating. Amazing service by all. The concierge went above and beyond to make sure my teenage niece and I had everything we needed, were comfortable and safe. Breakfast buffet was yummy. Only had one dinner on property - it was good. Rooms nice. Adult pool area was stunning. Super convenient to airport. Didn’t love beach area- was public

Absolutely the best hospitality we have ever experienced. From check-in to check-out, the attention to our requests was their focus. Even the most mundane was treated like an edict from royalty. I want to point out several people who stood out because they absolutely went above and beyond to make our stay the grandest experience. We also did the La Leona Waterfall hike with Julio, which was absolutely amazing, and the rainforest tour with Ronald — both were unforgettable. Every guide made our trip special. Highly recommend Nomad Tours if you’re visiting Costa Rica, especially around the Peninsula Papagayo area!

Where to begin? This place is perfect for those of us that are looking to unwind somewhere peaceful. The staff is amazing and tended to needs immediately! Diego always greeted me by name and made sure that my car was retrieved quickly. The housekeeping staff was mindful of every detail. All the way down to organizing the seashells I would collect from the beach each morning. Couldn't ask for a better stay! Pros: -Food is great, no matter which restaurant you order from -Security. I never once worried about my safety there as a female solo traveler -Beautiful resort, that recaptured the nature that naturally surrounds the area -Easy to drive to from Liberia airport, and easy to get to local (and distant) sites (Coco Beach, Tamarindo, La Fortuna) Cons: -Not all inclusive -Expensive Amenities (but worth the quality)

We just returned from an incredible week at El Mangroove, Autograph Collection, and I can’t say enough about the outstanding experience we had. From the moment we arrived, the level of service was simply ESPECTACULAR. Every staff member was warm, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our stay special. A huge shoutout to Maria José and Valeria at the spa — their massages were absolutely phenomenal. Beyond their skill, their kindness and professionalism made us feel completely at ease. It was one of the most relaxing spa experiences we’ve ever had! We also loved spending time at the adults-only pool cabana area. The cabana space was peaceful, beautifully maintained, and the service there was impeccable. Whether it was drinks, towels, or just checking in to make sure we had everything we needed — the staff had it covered. And let’s talk about the breakfast... AMAZING! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It was the perfect way to start each day. Honestly, the food and drinks throughout the resort were consistently excellent, both in quality and presentation. The entire atmosphere at El Mangroove is pure relaxation. Whether we were lounging by the pool, enjoying a spa treatment, or dining under the stars, we always felt cared for. It's the kind of place where you can truly unwind and let go of stress. We’re already dreaming about our next trip back. Thank you to everyone at El Mangroove for making our stay so memorable!
