Reviews for Hilton Hotel Tahiti

Hilton Tahiti checks all the boxes

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Lovely hotel in a convenient location with enchanting ocean views and of Moorea across the channel. Also very close to a shopping mall that included a pharmacie. Restaurants are generally good, though a dinner order was delayed 30 minutes to the kitchen. Their breakfast buffet is grossly overpriced - $53 per person! An Island Night Tahitian dance and music group was wonderful. Front desk personnel verpharmacies. I would recommend.

Easy location

The Hilton location is between the airport and town. It has a walkway across the road to an indoor shopping mall, which was very convenient for groceries/snacks, pharmacy, food court, and clothing/sundries. As we disembarked from our cruise at 9 am, we were concerned about check-in time at 3 pm, but the kind front desk agent held our bags while we went shopping and had our room ready at 11 am. We had a king/grand balcony on the 3rd floor which overlooked the pool and ocean. The room is spacious and well-designed. There was a kettle, espresso machine, and mini fridge. The bed was comfortable and walk in shower spacious. A bistro table with two chairs, a sun umbrella and two lounge chairs on the patio. I have to say, though, that we spent the majority of our time in the pool. The only negative is that we tried to order a pizza through room service before 7 pm and were told they had no pizzas, even though there is an Italian restaurant onsite. We then chose a different Italian dish and were told that there would be a $15 delivery charge. Wow! To avoid the high food prices, we likely should have gone to the food court across the street, but even though it says online that it’s open until 7 pm, it isn’t! Again the front desk staff kindly allowed us to remain in our room an extra hour for check out. All in all a good (though expensive) stay.

Everyone here is very pleasant, which made a great dining experience. The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu items and makes great dinner recommendations.

Bad bad bad

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I never take the time to do bad reviews or good reviews normally, but my experience at this hotel was so bad, I have to post this. First of all, when I showed up with my wife on our 15th anniversary trip (we were going to Bora Bora but had a layover and had to stay in Tahiti one night), they said I had booked two rooms (which I did not do and there is no record of me booking two rooms on the Hilton App). Then they would not remove one of the rooms and charged me for the extra room that I did not stay in, which I could not believe. I do not think any Hilton in the United States would do that (though admittedly I always stay in Marriotts (where I have titanium status) or Hyatts (where I have discoverist status, though I do have Gold status in Hilton), and I may never stay at a Hilton again because of this). Aside from that horrible customer experience, the hotel is a complete dump for the price they charge. There were ants in our room. The drain in the tub shower didn't work and we had to unscrew it. We went to the outside bar to get a drink and it took almost an hour to get our drink (and only because we flagged down a waiter after sitting there for 20 minute with no service). Then they took our drinks to the wrong table. I would highly recommend to stay somewhere else if you have to stay in Tahiti for any reason (and like I said, I may not ever stay at a Hilton again this experience was so bad ... I still can't believe they charged me for two rooms). Another complaint is I called Hilton customer service and they just transferred me back to the Hotel Hilton Tahiti where they explained to me again they had to charge me for two rooms. So that the Hilton custom service experience was horrible as well.

Killed ANTs all night! Go to the Intercontinental instead.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

A ton of ANTS. Spent my vaca killing them. Mgmnt wouldn't make it right. I called the front desk & they sent a maintenance worker who spray some areas but, couldn't reach high area. So, the ants just went up. I asked him to spray the area outside & I don't think he did. I killed hundreds of ant & had to unpack the last night & shake out my clothes. Diandra MAWHINNEY apologized via email but still charged us for both nights. Thanks for ending my birthday Tahitian dream vaca like this. On another note: prior to this stay, we stayed at the Intercontinental & it was absolutely amazing. Spend a few more $$ & get the Tahitian dream vaca with the Intercontinental.
