Reviews for Hilton Hotel Tahiti

Convenient for central Papeete

Stayed in a king ocean view balcony room . Very spacious with an extra large balcony with sun beds & table & chairs plus an impressive view of the pool area & the lagoon. Room was clean & modern with a bright bathroom. Pool was spectacular. Very large with a welcome swim up bar. Plenty of sun beds . Pool towel policy was hit & miss. Not always an attendant in the hut but a notice warning of penalties if you failed to return your towel. We ate twice in the pool bar . Pricey but decent portions. For those prepared to venture further afield there is a nice little restaurant across the covered walkway that serves dinner & we had a lovely lunch at La Plancha, on the roundabout opposite the main gate .

Service? What service?

My girlfriend and I visited the Hilton Tahiti twice drain January 2026. I would say overall the property itself was as expected. The pole, was probably one of the highlights. I read that it was the largest in all of French Polynesia. The rooms themselves we’re up-to-date and the grounds we’re done very well. My largest complaint was that of service and communication. Our first experience with their service occurred upon check-in. they had to check in lines. One for priority and one for non-priority members. We were non-priority members so we lined up on the non-priority line. When we pick Cain the first in line they then opened up our lane for additional priority members. again, we waited. No apologies for the extra wait. The service at the bar was even more frustrating. Myself and another hotel guest waited at least 20 minutes for any kind of recognition. But don’t worry they had a happy hour we’re instead of getting two for one you got a $25 drink for only $18. what a bargain! The communication was very lacking also. There were a couple newbies/trainees who did nothing but walk around aimlessly. When I asked a question, they said they would have to ask a manager who was in the back hiding. Upon leaving knowing that we were going to return in about two weeks, I checked on our accommodations for that specific time. as a prior army officer I had learned that I should always talk to two different people and hopefully get the same answer. Unfortunately I trusted them. When we returned in two weeks time they promised us a fifth floor accommodation and that the room would be open for us soon. we went on an excursion and came back only to hear that now we were down on the second floor with much less of a view. Also, they said that we did not have a reservation that I had canceled it while I was on my cruise out at sea. I told them that I could not have possibly canceled since I didn’t even have a Wi-Fi signal that point. It took over a half an hour for the manager to finally give us what we wanted. Another complaint was the extremely slow island time service. The breakfast that was promised to me along with the room was now nonexistent. Breakfast cost over $30 per person. We decided to go across the street through their bridge walkway and get a breakfast that was very good for about $10 a person. One additional comment. When they say ocean view, you may have to look sideways outside your balcony to see the ocean. Last time I was in Tahiti, I went to the Intercontinental. Unfortunately, a friend who stayed at that hotel had similar complaints. Hope this is helpful to someone.

Penny Pinching reaches a new level

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

The property is well maintained and up to Hilton standards. Our room was clean and comfortable, the communication systems worked flawlessly, and by and large the amenities are what one would expect from a Hilton property. That being said, the 'nickel & dimers' have shown their presence. The rates at this property are no bargain but on top of the rate and taxes the hotel then charges a 'resort fee'. What nonsense !! The hotel was asked to arrange for a shuttle from the airport to the property at a fee that was three times that was charged by a very competent cabbie in a spotless SUV. BUT perhaps the final insult came came when we had dinner in the Asian restaurant. We were given a 'complimentary bowl of Miso soup when we sat down at our table and I was then changed for a refill. As we were leaving the restaurant I indicated to our server that the housekeeping attendant had forgotten to leave a couple of packets of green tea and when I was given two packets of green tea, the same brand as is left in the room, again I was charged. If that is how this property treats Hilton loyalty members, then this is the last time we will stay there. I stronly suggest the Intercontinental on the island as penny-pinching is not the order of the day there.
