Reviews for Hilton Hotel Tahiti

Middle of the Toad

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Upon arrival, the first impression was just nice not grand. The staff was good not great. The Hilton Tahiti was nice not exceptional. Just nice because I always had these very grandiose ideas about the destination and if I’m honest, Tahiti on a whole is overrated up against say Seychelles or the Maldives. I paid lots for the one bedroom thinking it’d be top tier. It wasn’t so I was hoping to get an upgrade to a view room—-even as Diamond, the wouldn’t. You would think the one bedroom would have one of the best “views”, but the view was utterly shocking (BAD). There was a GIANT tree directly in front of the windows. It was so frustrating. We couldn’t see anything else! I can’t understand what the architect was thinking. Maybe they weren’t thinking at all. The one bedroom was certainly comfortable but if you’re in it for more than just space, be prepared—I was told almost none of the 1-bedrooms have a view. The linens and towels were passable but the amenities were just mid-level by my standards. All in all, as a New Yorker the view completely ruined the total experience for me. The breakfast buffet was just good. There were plenty of semi-blah traditional breakfast foods to choose from. The evening entertainment at the restaurant was a nice surprise. The performance was traditional dance, and held our attention through out. The food at the restaurant was mid-level and the service was just OK. I had an issue with my reservation and the supervisor was nice enough to address it quickly and professionally. At least the customer service showed up after lots of poking and prodding. In any case, the manager was gracious and resolved the issue to my liking. She was pregnant at the time so I’m hoping she had a healthy baby. This hotel is just in the middle of the road all the way around. I would stay again if there was nothing else available, but it wouldn’t be my first choice. Actually, Tahiti wouldn’t be my first choice. I don’t repeat destinations often, and I certainly wouldn’t start here.

Expansive poor quality for very hihi price. The papeete most expansive glass of wine. Table to be avoided

Incredible food & setting

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

I am a Hilton Diamond Member and have dined at hundreds of Hilton restaurants, but this by far the best ever. Seafood dinner was incredible and so was the service. Outdoor seating over the ocean. Multiple large sea turtles, hundreds of fish, crabs, and an octopus.

Convenient for Cruise Terminal and airport

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Booked for two nights after cruise around South Pacific. Hour queue for taxi on disembarcation. Many had same idea so arrived at hotel 0900 and check-in at 1500 so six hours to kill. Had meal in all-day restaurant for lunch, bit pricey. Got room key 1515. All rooms sea/pool facing in five storey block. Long walk from Reception to end of block. Room had tea/coffee/safe. Nice view of gardens/pool, no beach. Evening meal barely warm, replacement similar. Weekends at certain times of year have brunch at 90 US dollars, unfortunately my weekend and all I wanted was an omelette. Spoke to Food & Beverage Manager who refunded me. Hotel takes advantage of closeness to cruise terminal and airport price-wise.
