Had to spend two days post-cruise here waiting for flight out. They have a GREAT pool situation here. Three great pools. Only complaints are: 1) there is some strange pool seating-hoarding situation going on. People lay claim to seating around the pools by tucking towels into the cushions then may or may not appear. May have to do with the large pool/day pass program they offer to transient cruise people. For those staying here, it's really frustrating to feel so much pressure to snag a pool lounge chair. Good luck. 2). Restaurant service is slow slow slow, food is "eh" and VERY expensive. Great ambiance. VERY close to airport which makes transfer super quick. Room and bed were quite comfortable. They let us use a day room/shower after checking out and before going to airport. Overall, would recommend.

Stayed at this property before a cruise. Good location about 10 minutes from the airport. we were in one of the over the water bungalows. nice room and great views of Moreea. Walk up pool bar was a great place to hang out. bartenders were very pleasant and friendly. drinks were great - try the Mai Tai. main pool was just renovated and was open. enjoyed both restaurants on property. food was good and menu had something for everyone. also joined for the Polynesian show and buffet - was a good show as we have seen several of these over the years. this one was very well done. all in all would recommend this property when staying in Papeete.

We got a day pass for this hotel last week, before our flight to San Francisco. We both had a lovely day, was felt very welcomed. The staff were all amazing. The property is very clean, well maintained, well oraganised. Our meal was very nice, drinks as you would expect. Swimming pool and lagoon lovely. Comfortable loungers. The changing facilities very well organised, clean , perfect to freshen up before the flight. Thank you kundly for having us and look forward to a stay at a future date.

Lovely resort in a great location. Beautiful pool and views. Staff are friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a tour of the island there is a desk in the lobby or speak to the concierge team and ask for a tour from Ruth. She is a local and did an amazing tour of the island for us organised with help from the concierge team.

This is a strange Intercontinental property. Usually I really like them, not this one. The overwater bungalows are really nice. If you can stay in one of these, do it. if not, stay at the Hilton instead. The outside property was lovely. The pools have recently been refurbished and they were very pleasant. There is still some construction and landscaping happening, but not a ton. It did not disrupt our stay too much. We really enjoyed the outside. The food was good. It was a bit overpriced, but not a big deal. The show on Wednesday night was fun and engaging- definitely go to it if you can. The hotel building itself is pretty bad- old and feels like the 70s, but not in a cool retro way. Our room was clean and the decor was okay, but it was tiny and tight. Getting to it, there was no elevator to the weird half floor so you can have to carry luggage up/down stairs. The worst part was the smell. The room smelled-- it was coming from another room nearby. You could smell and hear what other people were doing in their bathroom. You could hear other people sneezing above you. You could hear conversations in the room next to you. There was no sound insulation so any time anyone walked or did anything in the rooms around you, you heard it. We slept terribly even with a noisemaker and I ended up sleeping in noise canceling headphones. I would not pay any money to stay here again. Lastly, they did not have a departure lounge. It is such a simple thing for them to do to make the experience better for their guests. In contrast, the Hilton had a nice departure lounge to rest, stay cool and shower/get ready if you have a late flight home. You can hang out there after you check out if you flight is a lot later in the day. A really nice feature. Again, if you can get an overwater bungalow, it is worth it. If not, the Hilton is a much better experience for the price. (Note- Hilton's outside property is not as nice as this one.)
