About the Hotel

Hotel Balzac Paris is in the heart of the City of Light. Parisian-chic design, a vibrant color palette and soft lighting drape this property—part of the LVX collection of Preferred Hotels & Resorts—in warm elegance, setting the tone for an exceptional experience. Built for the director of the Paris Opera in 1853, this deluxe townhouse-style boutique hums with the French art de vivre, serving as a plush sanctuary for rest and relaxation and a central headquarters for your Parisian holiday. Honoré de Balzac, the prolific and influential writer for whom the hotel is named, once made his home on the site, and collections of antique books and lithographs depicting the author and scenes from his work adorn the property. 13 suites and 57 rooms marry opulent details like oak-floored entrances and marble bathrooms to state-of-the-art technology, including LCD televisions, cable and internet access. Romantic skyline views of the exquisite Eiffel Tower from the third floor up are available by special request.

Reviews for Hotel Balzac Paris

Hidden Gem in Paris 8th Arrondissement

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

We spent a total of 19 days at Hotel Balzac (6 days in April and 4 days in May). We loved it. The location was close enough to Champs Elysees to be convenient but far enough to be tranquil. The entire team, particularly Enzo at the front of the house, were outstandingly kind, helpful, and hospitable. In short, everyone went out of their way to make our stay fantastic. The decor of the hotel was understated and elegant. The rooms were clean, well decorated, and of good size for Paris. The hotel was a vey good value for the money. We hope to return in 2027.

Amazing hotel very pleasant staff!

Once we arrived at the Balzac hotel for our babymoon trip I was amazed with perfect lobby interior design. The member of the staff at the reception desk Enzo was very attentive and upgraded our booking providing us with the nicest room we could expect. We were touched once he gifted a teddy bear for my pregnant wife. The room is very new, renovated has large windows and high ceilings. Looking forward to coming back here again and again!

What all others strive to be. Many visits to Paris, this hotel is by far a stand-out. The entire team, Enzo, Leon,Mssr J- truly understand what hospitality is. The hotel itself - understated yet elegant and refined. The breakfast was wonderful- the beds ultra comfortable, smiles all around. If you have the opportunity the spa is simply the best place to relax after a busy day of work or sightseeing. I was hesitant to stay near the Champs- Elysee but the hotel itself is a most quiet street ! You will not be disappointed. I plan to bring a group next April and we will be indeed staying here.

Excellent service, cozy-refined spaces, and superb location.

Really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Balzac. It’s got a classic Paris charm without feeling dated, and the location is superb—right by the Champs-Élysées and the nearby luxury shops, yet still quiet enough to feel like a proper escape. What stood out most was the service. Enzo was top-notch—attentive, easygoing, and genuinely welcoming. Upon arrival we received an upgrade to a street view room as we booked through the Amex portal - the Hotel Collection. Also the staff welcomed us with a drink (juice) which was much needed after a long journey. I was there on a slower day in May, which worked in my favor. The whole place felt relaxed, and having access to the spa during off-hours made it feel almost private. That alone elevated the experience. We also stayed in one of the only rooms with a bath tub but the shower situation is a bit unique. Also use of diptique soaps was a nice touch of luxury. The restaurant was an enjoyable experience given its charming lounge-like atmosphere and serving quality food. The breakfast menu was simple and the lunch menu provided more options if you’re looking into eating French cuisine. All in all, a great spot if you appreciate good service, a strong location, and a more low-key, refined atmosphere.

An amazing and magical 4 day stay in Paris. Hotel is exquisite. Never miss details. The rooms were spacious and the soundproof windows were a plus. From the front desk to the concierge Jihad. Everyone was Pleasant and accommodating. The bathroom and shower was a dream. The extra note and drinks was a special touch for our anniversary. Would definitely come back. Perfect location. Merci Beaucoup. Next time will take advantage of the spa and sauna.
