Hotel Lutetia is an iconic landmark situated in the vibrant Saint-Germain-des-Prés area of Paris and the only luxury Palace hotel on the city's Left Bank. Originally opened in 1910, the building's design was a daring move from Art Nouveau to the emerging style of Art Deco. The Lutetia delivers an authentic Parisian experience and has been at the heart of the local community for more than 100 years. The hotel now features an eclectic mix of restaurants, bars and lounges throughout the historical ground floor including the iconic Brasserie Lutetia and Bar Joséphine. Unique to the area, Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Centre is Lutetia's 700 sqm/7,500 sqft spa dedicated to wellbeing and fitness and featuring a 17m swimming pool bathed in natural daylight.

We loved the Mandarin Oriental Lutetia. The hotel is beautiful, the facilities were great, and the restaurant and in room dining were excellent. It was a wonderful stay.

This is a beautiful hotel with a high level of service. Our suite was stunningly designed, with excellent bedding, linens, and amenities that made for a comfortable stay. However, there were a couple of significant issues. Despite booking an expensive suite, our view was limited to the back of the building. The biggest problem was an early morning power outage that made our room incredibly hot and uncomfortable. Had we known about this planned outage, we wouldn't have booked the room. Being charged full price for such a poor night of sleep feels unfair.

This is the second Mandarin Oriental property in Paris—don’t confuse it with the one on the Right Bank. This one is in the 6th arrondissement on the Left Bank, in the most expensive residential area of the city, which feels incredibly safe and exclusive. While it’s a little farther from the most popular tourist sites, the trade-off is a more scenic, peaceful side of Paris. It’s the kind of neighborhood where you can wander charming streets, enjoy local cafés, and feel like you’re truly living the Parisian lifestyle. The rooms are on the smaller side, but that’s pretty standard for Paris—and everything feels modern and fresh thanks to a recent renovation. Service is impeccable, and the breakfast restaurant was an excellent start to each day. The spa was a highlight—beautifully designed and complete with its own swimming pool, sauna, and steam rooms, making it the perfect retreat after a day of exploring. If you’re looking for a quieter, more authentic Paris experience while still enjoying five-star comfort, this is a fantastic choice.
