About the Hotel

A landmark of Paris’s Left Bank since 1910, Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, Paris brings together storied heritage, artistic spirit and contemporary luxury in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Elegant rooms and suites feature bespoke furnishings, marble bathrooms and refined contemporary details, while select accommodations add balconies and terraces overlooking the Left Bank and Eiffel Tower. Wellness is equally impressive at The Spa at Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, a serene retreat offering expert treatments alongside a state-of-the-art fitness center and a striking 17-meter indoor pool. Dining reflects the hotel’s century-long role as a Rive Gauche gathering place: Brasserie Lutetia serves refined French classics, while Le Saint-Germain offers all-day dining beneath artist Fabrice Hyber’s painted glass canopy. After dark, Bar Joséphine, named for legendary former guest Josephine Baker, pairs cocktails with historic frescoes and live music, while intimate Bar Aristide channels the atmosphere of a sophisticated speakeasy.

Service Makes the Difference

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Any Mandarin Oriental Hotel is going to be excellent. However, the staff at the Lutetia really went above and beyond to ameliorate our climate issues during a hot Parisian summer. The senior staff of the hotel was very helpful in ensuring the quality of our stay and we could really feel their attentiveness. One example is how they kept the fitness center open late so we could work out after regular hours. Our room was well appointed with a wonderful view across St. Germain roof tops. The restaurant was very good and offered consistent service but there are no "destination" restaurants here.

Series of Discrepancies, Major Service Failures and Inconsistent Communication

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My stay at Mandarin Oriental Lutetia Paris was unpleasant and unacceptable. Prior to arrival, I had received written confirmation from one of the heads of sales quoting me a Junior Suite, yet during my stay I was told that my room was actually a Deluxe Room and that I had been “upgraded.” This was one of several discrepancies and failures in communication. The bed linen was stained on the first night and torn and damaged on the second. I was shocked that stained and torn linen had not been taken out of circulation. Clean, properly maintained bedding is a fundamental standard of hospitality and certainly not an area where a hotel of this standing should cut corners. I had also made every effort to facilitate payment prior to my arrival, requesting a payment form in advance, but was told this was not possible, which subsequently made the payment process unnecessarily difficult. Most seriously, the behaviour of one of the night managers was entirely inappropriate and fell far below the standard expected of a Mandarin Oriental property. Following my checkout, I raised these matters directly with the Hotel Manager, Mr. Eric Gervy, who assured me that he would investigate what had occurred. In his response, he apologized and offered, as a gesture, to cover what he described as outstanding incidentals. Those charges had already been paid in full. I provided Mr. Gervy with the payment confirmation issued to me by Mandarin Oriental itself, after which he acknowledged that the incidentals had indeed been paid. To incorrectly indicate that a guest has left an outstanding balance is a serious matter and carries potential reputational implications. My last correspondence with Mr. Gervy was over two weeks ago, and I have yet to receive any further response or proposed resolution. I would not ordinarily make an experience like this public, particularly as I have been a dedicated Mandarin Oriental client and have stayed at many of their properties around the world. However, given the time that has passed without any further response, I feel I have no alternative but to share my experience so that future guests can take it into consideration when deciding whether to stay at the hotel.

Luxurious Stay with a connection to the city like a local

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

recommended by friends and enjoyed every moment. we were offered and shown an upgrade for a discounted price but stuck with our original room because the space was unique and enough for our stay. restaurants and amenities in the hotel are great. loved the location close to popular luxury shops, metro and popular tourist attractions. concierge made great recommendations for local lunch/dinner spots that weren’t too crowded or touristy. everyone was friendly and would definitely stay here whenever i revisit Paris.

Spa

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

This review is for the spa. Highly recommend Morgen for massage. The hammam and sauna were clean and enjoyable. The locker rooms were also clean and full of amenities. The Spa Director resolved an issue that arose during our visit with strong customer service and professionalism, leaving us with confidence that this spa backs its services. Would recommend for others and hope to be back again.

Just beautiful

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Our stay at Mandarin Oriental Lutetia Paris lived up to every expectation we had and honestly, maybe even exceeded a few. The hotel has that rare balance of feeling luxurious without ever making you feel uncomfortable or out of place. Everything is elegant, but still warm and welcoming. The rooms are beautiful, the beds are incredibly comfortable, and every detail feels well thought out. What really stood out was the service. Everyone we interacted with was genuinely kind, professional and always happy to help. It never felt forced it felt like they truly cared about making our stay special. The location is another huge plus. You’re close to so many amazing cafés, restaurants, and some of the best parts of Paris, but the hotel itself feels like a peaceful escape from the busy city. If you’re looking for a luxury hotel in Paris that actually delivers on what it promises, this is it. We left with nothing but great memories and would happily stay here again.
