Old world charm - the way a hotel should be

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

I don't think we've ever had a nicer stay at any hotel than at the Hotel Regina in Paris. We were there for eight nights in May 2026. It was my first time in Paris and we were going with good friends, so we decided to live it up and stay at the Hotel Regina. The Regina has a wonderful old-world charm with excellent but understated service. It's like stepping back in time, when hotel guests were made to feel special. The interior spaces are beautiful. The concierge desk was extremely helpful, had very good restaurant and other recommendations, and helped get reservations. They also helped us arrange for a wheelchair for a traveling companion -- without that our trip would have been much more difficult. Even the doormen were great - friendly, quick to get cabs or help in any way. We didn't notice the smallest amount of grouchiness or impatience from any of the staff. Excellent service in every way. Our room, in the interior courtyard, was deadly quiet - we could hardly hear the city. It was extremely clean, and room service restored it every morning and turned down the blankets at night. It was great to enjoy Paris during the day, and have a little haven at night. The breakfast buffet was very good, with assorted pastries, fresh bread, fruit, and salmon etc. The wait staff was professional and charming. Our only criticism is that the coffee wasn't strong enough -- probably because they assumed that Americans would want it that way. Best to order a café allongé, which is like an espresso. The bar also was good -- a nice place to relax before heading out for dinner. The Regina is located about a block from the Louvre and it is across the street from the Tuileries Garden. It is a short walk across the Seine to the Musée d'Orsay impressionist collections and the Rodin Museum. It is a bit further, but still walkable, to the Notre Dame cathedral, the opera house, and the Arc de Triomphe. We had a wonderful trip to Paris, and a lovely stay at the classy and charming Hotel Regina.

Wonderful Hotel

We greatly appreciated our stay at Hotel Regina Louvre. The staff members were exceptional, and the room service was outstanding. The accommodations were excellent, and we particularly enjoyed viewing the Eiffel Tower from our private balcony. The proximity to the Louvre was highly convenient. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, and the hotel maintained a high standard of cleanliness and tranquility. Overall, our experience was thoroughly enjoyable and exceeded our expectations.

Mother/daughter week in Paris

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

My daughter and I stayed at the Hotel Regina Louvre when we came to Paris to attend the French Open tennis tournament. We walked into a beautiful hotel with old world charm and found that everyone who worked there were very helpful, pleasant and gracious (especially the person we worked with at the front desk, his name starts with a P, but unfortunately I lost his card). We had a lovely lunch of Caesar salads while we waited for our room to be ready. Our room was a junior suite overlooking the Eiffel Tower as well as the Tuileries. The size was quite comfortable for the two of us with our king bed made into twins and a living area with a sofa and two chairs. We had breakfast every morning and really enjoyed our coffee and European breakfast while discussing the plans for our day. When I realized the temperature would be around 90 degrees for the full week we were in Paris, I immediately checked to see if the hotel had air conditioning (yes, and it was awesome). We had the most wonderful mother/daughter week in Paris. Thank you Hotel Regina Louvre!

Visit in May

All was pretty good. We like your hotel very much. The location is perfect. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Ksenia, who works in the restaurant, for her care and attentiveness during breakfast service. It is such a pleasure to return to a hotel where people with kind hearts and genuine care for guests work. Ksenia is truly welcoming and hospitable. Employees like her are a real treasure for the hotel. The only thing that radiator in the bathroom was not working and/or I could not managed to switch it on

Short stay in Paris

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We’ve just returned from Paris and overall had a pleasant stay. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and in a great location. Reception staff were very helpful, and we really enjoyed the hotel restaurant food. The main disappointment was breakfast, which was quite limited compared to other European 5star hotels we’ve stayed at. There were few options for fruit, juices, meats, salads and the pastries were quite basic. The rooms were comfortable, but we missed having a coffee machine and the TV channels were very limited. Pillows were hit and miss. The hotel has lots of carpets, rooms are fully it may not suit guests with dust mite allergies and you could smell the specific carpet smell at entry. During our stay the temperatures were in the 30s, and the reception and breakfast areas felt very warm/uncomfortable, although the room AC worked well. One final observation: while reception staff were polite and helpful, the service felt less warm and proactive than in some than in destinations. This seemed more like a cultural difference than a negative point.

We had a wonderful time at the Regina. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Also, all items included in our package arrived promptly. The hotel is very well geared to the Luxury Link auction features and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
