Reviews for Le Royal Monceau

Exceptional Parisian Palace Hotel!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Le royal Monceau was Glorious! The bed, bathroom, food and service were all incredible. The location is perfect for exploring Paris , and you are near the Charles de Gaulle Etoille metro line which is very nice to have nearby. The food in both the hotel’s Japanese restaurant, bar and in room dining was amazing and I highly recommend dining at Matsuhisa. The desserts are also amazing especially the frozen brioche with bitter almond cream. The in room dining mango I ordered was beautifully presented. I would highly suggest a courtyard facing room, as it will be very quiet and still afford sunlight. The hotel’s bathtubs are divine and the clarins toiletries smell heavenly. Room #511 is lovely and spacious. The service from housekeeping was fantastic and the ladies kept my room over my 4-night stay impeccably clean. The slippers left at turndown are so soft and cozy. The hotels staircase is stunning and I loved walking down it each day. The lobby is very calm and quiet and very contemporary in its decor. Special mention to the hotels reservations team for being so efficient and friendly, especially Jariya, Camille, and Julia. They also respond to emails very swiftly. The front desk reception, concierge and butler team is wonderfully kind, and special mention to Gaëtan, Xavier, Melinee, Antoine, Fabio, Rose, Adrian, Florian, Lea, and Elise- all hospitality super-stars and each took wondef care of me and were so lovely. The doormen were all excellent. Special thanks to the food and beverage team, especially Mareva, Jesus and Attina in le bar long and Anna and Erik in Matsuhisa- you all made me feel so comfortable, provided exceptional hospitality and palace level service. Merci!!! I very much look forward to returning very soon. Merci et À bientôt team RMO Paris! Thank you always! Best Wishes, Patrick Winkler New York, NY

Beautiful hotel and amazing staff.

I picked this hotel based on reviews and location. It was my first trip to Paris and I was there to see the French Open. The staff were very friendly and helpful before my trip. They helped arrange car service to and from the airport and with taxi service during my stay. They also asked what treats and type of water I would like in my room too. During my stay, all the staff were lovely. The room was very beautiful with lovely artwork and lamps. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was huge with a beautiful bathtub. The hotel itself was lovely and very well maintained. I would stay here again.

It is a real shame that I am having to write a formal complaint on this platform as opposed to the hotel- they would in fact ignore any complaints or issues, as I have sadly had to experience for the last week. The level of service for a 5 star hotel is frankly shocking and disappointing and I am someone who rarely ever complains. I would never ever recommend this hotel for any high profile or high networth individuals ( this booking was for a client) as you will not receive efficient or any high level of customer care. They lost items of my client’s and they have not even taken any accountability whatsoever and have ignored numerous attempts on my behalf to get in touch with them to resolve the issue. I really wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

Not befitting of a Raffles ... more style than substance.

I had high expectations of this hotel based on the reviews I've read and the prices this hotel charges which is well over 1500 Euros per night. Location is along Ave Hoche, about 7 minutes uphill walk to the nearest Metro station. Not too bad. Upon arrival with large luggage, I got off the car and saw at least 4 doormen around. No one came to offer to help me! I had to drag my own bags into the hotel through the revolving doors. That set the first impression. UNDERWHELMING! The doormen simply do not care or maybe they "look" at the customers and how they are dressed, or their skin colour. This hotel (I later realised) caters a great deal to rich Arabs. So if you are not one of them, good luck to you! The reception staff was simply awful. Courteous yes, but completely ineffective. They promised prior to my arrival that the room would be ready by 1 pm. Well, it wasn't ready until 4 pm! So much for empty promises. Again, over-promising and under-delivering. The room itself was about average in size for a suite. A great deal of dated style (ie from the early 2010s), but very lacking in practicality such as electric sockets and USB ports. So customers who are staying on business trips will be disappointed. The bathroom has wall to wall mirrors and may not appeal to everyone, but it was nevertheless functional and with good water pressure. The sinks however, are completely impractical and shallow. Housekeeping was COMPLETELY INCONSISTENT. Requests made at the start of the stay and emphasized repeatedly were inconsistently followed up. Sometimes they replaced the used towels, sometimes they did not. Sometimes the bathrobes were replaced and sometimes they were not. If you are an exacting customer who expects these things to be done daily, you will surely be disappointed. It was tiring to keep reminding and reminding. Oh yes, there is a so called Butler Service, which was completely ineffective. Breakfast was perhaps the only redeeming part of the hotel experience. The staff at the breakfast area were excellent and responsive. The breakfast itself was widespread with good variety for a Parisian Hotel. We also ate dinner at the Japanese Restaurant, which is the same venue as the breakfast. Don't go there. Over-priced and not great in terms of quality and authenticity of the food. You'll get far better Japanese food elsewhere for the prices charged. All in all, I would say that this is a hotel that is large on style and poor on substance. It is a truely poorly run hotel. It maybe ok for those who are looking for "hardware" luxury, but in truth, the whole hotel needs a huge relook at how it's run.

My Home Base in Paris

Absolutely superb experience at the Raffles RM! This was my second visit here and there is no kinder or more welcoming staff than at this hotel. They make you feel welcome, there is no snobbery, but a feeling of making you feel at home for the time you are there. There are so many great hotels in Paris but this will be my favorite because of the warm welcome from the minute you enter the doors. The hotel is beautiful. The minute you walk in it is so classy, warm but also quite artistic. The bar is so fun and vibrant at anytime, with a good vibe. They seem to prioritize guests in the hotel and we never had any problem getting a table or seat at any time even when busy. We used the gym everyday. I love that gym so much! It has a lovely pool where you can do laps in. The change rooms had a steam sauna, a dry sauna and a cold plunge (just in the women’s change room! Sorry gentlemen!). I loved getting our workouts in while on vacation. It was a treat to have a gym that didn’t look like a hotel gym. It was stunning, clean and there was always staff around to help you. Specifics: The breakfast is outstanding, as is the gym. The rooms are modern and fun but with the best linens and most comfortable beds. Showers perfect with amazing water pressure (you have ruined us for home!). The housekeeping staff are meticulous and also very sweet. We arrived and were a bit disoriented from jet lag. We left the room after a quick shower to get dinner and the lovely lady doing the turndown service gave us a lecture to lock our passports and put our money away. We did neither that first night but how lovely she was to care about our security. Her name was Rhael so please thank her from us. We didn’t see her again but appreciated her honestly and her concern for us. We were lucky to have someone so trustworthy cleaning after us! The assistant manager and butler both escorted us to our room. And the lovely cake for my birthday and the decorations that were in our room upon arrival made me so happy. You went out of your way for us to make our visit so special. I told you in December I would be back with my husband and I was true to my word. You were equally true to your high standards and exceptional service. We will be back!
