About the Hotel

Beautiful, très chic Paris is in fine form at Les Jardins du Marais. Behind an unassuming façade on Rue Amelot in Marais, this Summit Hotels & Resorts property, part of the Preferred Hotel Group, adds a contemporary edge to 1930s glamour in rooms outfitted with plush purple carpeting and Macassar ebony furniture. Sunlight floods the lobby and restaurant through a glass roof, and blossoming flowers are everywhere. Nine renovated, historic buildings comprise the hotel – one used to house Gustave Eiffel’s workshop.

Reviews for Les Jardins du Marais

Left very disillusioned!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We had a great stay in a beautiful room but I would not stay at this hotel again. When we checked in we had to pay a 200 euro deposit that was to be refunded at check out. However, we checked out a month ago and the money has still not been refunded. When I initially contacted the hotel they sent an email saying the money had been released when we checked out and to contact our bank. Our bank have no record of this transaction. I have emailed the hotel several times asking for the documentation showing the transaction they said they could supply in the first email but I have had no response. I have messaged them through hotels.com asking for the manager’s name and email but received no response. This is not an isolated incident with this hotel as my daughter and her husband stayed at the beginning of August and they haven’t received their deposit back either. Unfortunately, I initially gave them an excellent review because we had such a positive experience but I would no longer recommend this hotel based on being left 200 euros out of pocket and their refusal to respond to my emails and messages.

Good stay

Rooms are nice and clean. Location is good with plenty of bistro and shops around. The staff is helpful and kind. There wasn't a minibar in our room but this is not a big problem.

Bait & Switch

Avoid - Bait & Switch on Rooms- the room we got was nothing like pics on website Cater to large group travelers- you will be ignored as an individual and likely pay more for room. You will never get!

"4-star" hotel that doesn't offer water and nickels and dimes

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

What kind of "4 star hotel" doesn't provide water and CHARGES you to use an electric outlet adapter? I've stayed in much "worse" hotels all across the world who provided both. The star rating is clearly useless then if it's just box-checking stuff. Also the full/queen bed isn't a bed, it's 2 twins pushed together with an extremely noticeable gap in the middle. False advertising there too.
