Beautiful, très chic Paris is in fine form at Les Jardins du Marais. Behind an unassuming façade on Rue Amelot in Marais, this Summit Hotels & Resorts property, part of the Preferred Hotel Group, adds a contemporary edge to 1930s glamour in rooms outfitted with plush purple carpeting and Macassar ebony furniture. Sunlight floods the lobby and restaurant through a glass roof, and blossoming flowers are everywhere. Nine renovated, historic buildings comprise the hotel – one used to house Gustave Eiffel’s workshop.

Location is great and common garden area very enjoyable. The rooms are old and extremely dusty; which really impacts sleep quality. We found a used salad bowl with soya sauce under our bed which shows the quality of the cleaning service. The entire hotel needs a proper refresh to qualify for a 4 star.

A rather touristic hotel with little atmosphere. A least, the location is very good and one can find a lot of interesting places within short distance.

From the arrival, a very disappointing stay and not value for money. We waited 10 minutes to be acknowledge, while the staff chatted behind desk . We were put on first floor as the receptionist said I “looked tired so avoid the third floor stairs) as the lift had been out of order for over a week. On entering room, there was a terrible smell of damp and a loud humming. We worked out the damp smell was the wet carpet outside bathroom, and the loud noise was the empty fridge . We unplugged the fridge to remedy the noise and reported the smell and wet carpet outside bathroom. Their remedy was to send a lady from house keeping who came at 9:30pm and sprayed strong room spray on the carpet then left. There were no toiletries in bathroom, and one coffee pod to share between the two of us. The bathroom was not cleaned on arrival or the second day..build up of grime on taps and plug hole, floor was sticky, bath scratched and grime around plug. Their remedy only good things were the beds were clean and comfortable and we could use the complimentary slippers to avoid the grime and damp on the carpet and bathroom floor. Having stayed in many 4 star hotels around Europe, this is definitely not a 4…more 2 stars.

Fantastic hotel and metro on the doorstep. Our suite was amazing! Two bathrooms, two tv’s, microwave, dishwasher and hob! The room was spacious and very clean and the air conditioning superb! Standard of the hotel was very good and housekeeping did an amazing job during our stay. Breakfast was fantastic, lots of choice and staff very attentive. Only minor issues were the sofa bed in the room was uncomfortable and we also booked a table at the restaurant but waited 20 mins and failed to be served, so we decided to eat at a bar across the road. Neither issues would prevent me from returning and I would certainly recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Paris. A big thank you to the hotel and staff for making our stay amazing. It was also my niece’s 18th so a very special occasion.

Lovely hotel . . . very friendly staff, comfortable rooms, beautiful private patio and courtyard. Paul and Leo were outstanding and spoiled our family with their attention!
