Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome

Park Hyatt Paris Vendome has been my favorite hotel in Paris for many years. I've probably stayed in at least 10 Paris hotels over the years. The location is excellent, the staff are all wonderful, some of the rooms have PERFECT closets and bathrooms (my favorites are 401/501, but they were being renovated or something).

We were really looking forward to our stay at the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme. We switched from Marriott Bonvoy to World of Hyatt a decade ago, and this property has long remained on our bucket list of iconic Hyatt hotels. We were thrilled to secure a nearly week-long stay entirely on points. The location is unbeatable—centrally situated right off Place Vendôme, steps from the Opéra Garnier, Galeries Lafayette, and the Tuileries Garden, with prestigious neighbors like the Ritz just a stone’s throw away. The hotel itself feels wonderfully calm and serene. The moment you step inside, you are greeted by their signature scent and the ubiquitous bronze statues—each in a unique pose with a subtle, cheerful expression that felt charmingly whimsical. The hallways appear freshly updated, featuring crisp carpeting and warm, bright lighting. The signature bronze figures continue throughout the property, appearing on door handles and light fixtures. Our room was exceptionally generous by Parisian standards. The space was well-appointed with fresh carpet, excellent lighting, a Marshall Bluetooth speaker, ample seating, and a large executive desk with plenty of accessible outlets. The motorized blackout shades and soundproofing were superb, completely blocking out street noise. The bed was enormous and easily among the most comfortable hotel beds we have ever slept in. To top it off, double French doors opened out with a lovely perspective toward Place Vendôme. Where the room fell short, however, was the bathroom layout and condition. Wide wooden double doors opened straight into the bedroom. Inside, there was a vanity with a single basin, a step up into an open wet room containing a soaking tub, and—quite bizarrely—a second sink placed directly inside the shower area. The overhead rain showerhead was situated barely a foot from this second sink, making the space feel awkward and cramped. While the fixtures and hardware looked well maintained, the sinks were noticeably scratched and worn—well below what one expects from a five-star luxury property. We initially wondered if it was an odd quirk of our specific layout, but the front desk confirmed this configuration was standard across the category. Having recently lost its official Palace distinction, the property definitely needs a refresh here if it hopes to reclaim that tier. Aside from the quirky bathroom, our experience was top-tier. Service was warm, engaging, and remarkably thoughtful. The concierge team near the entrance was indispensable for securing hard-to-get dining reservations and organizing seamless sightseeing. The subterranean spa is fantastic, featuring a spacious whirlpool, sauna, and steam room. The fitness center is fully equipped and kept immaculate, with staff constantly refreshing towels, restocking chilled bottled water, and wiping down machines. While we didn’t dine at Pur’, we had breakfast a few times at Café Jeanne. Though we had originally planned to eat out in the city, the morning aroma of cultured butter and fresh viennoiseries proved irresistible. As others have noted, the breakfast spread is outstanding—pricey, but worth it. Having stayed at several of Paris’s grand dames over the years—including Le Bristol, Hôtel de Crillon, and Plaza Athénée—we feel the Park Hyatt could certainly benefit from bathroom updates, but the service, serene ambiance, and prime location remain world-class. We thoroughly enjoyed our week here.

This review is long overdue, but very much deserved. We booked five nights at the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme as part of the European leg of our honeymoon in October 2025, arriving from London via Eurostar into Gare du Nord. From there, we took the metro to the Opéra station in the 1st Arrondissement and walked to the hotel. After a long day of travel, we were tired and a bit flustered, and handed our bags to the bellhops without properly identifying ourselves. This led to a brief mix-up locating our luggage, though it was ultimately our own fault as we had given my wife's name rather than mine, which is what the reservation was under. Everything was safely stored in the back, and it was sorted out without issue. At check-in, our Guest of Honor booking was immediately recognized and we were upgraded to a room with a balcony overlooking Place Vendôme. The front desk apologized for the lack of suite availability but assured us we would love the room, and they were right. We were welcomed with a bottle of champagne and a chocolate cake in celebration of our honeymoon, a genuinely lovely touch. The lavender pillows from the pillow menu and our requested mattress firmness, both submitted weeks in advance, were honored to perfection. The hard product was of very high quality. While I understand the critique some make about the décor feeling dated at this price point, I personally appreciated the classic Parisian character of the space, with its warm wood tones and gold accents. The shower setup was one of the most unique we've encountered. And being on a high floor with a direct view of Place Vendôme? That's the stuff of dreams. The soft product matched every bit of it; the service throughout our stay was warm, attentive, and consistently made us feel like the trip was being taken care of. We left the champagne and chocolates to explore the neighborhood and quickly discovered that nearly everything we wanted to see was either within walking distance or a short metro ride away. That first night, we got wonderfully lost wandering into the 8th Arrondissement before settling in for a late dinner at the bar of La Petite Vendôme, sandwiches and fries included. If you know, you know. Seats are hard to come by, so reserve well in advance. Breakfast each morning at Café Jeanne was a genuine highlight. Between the super fruit bowl, made-to-order eggs, eggs Benedict, premium coffee, and the shakshuka that I personally could not get enough of, it was a wonderful way to fuel up for the day. As Globalist members with the Guest of Honor benefit, breakfast was fully included, along with a glass of very nice champagne. Refills were offered, and while it certainly wasn't bottomless, two glasses of quality champagne to start the morning was a very welcome touch. Communication with the concierge in the months leading up to our stay, and on the day itself, was seamless. Museum and restaurant reservations were handled in advance, and the team was able to secure tables at some genuinely difficult spots. If you're staying here, lean into that perk early and often. All in all, we couldn't have asked for a more magical first stay in Paris. In our view, the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme lived up to its Palace status at the time of our visit, and we hope it earns that designation back in the future. Our stay was nothing short of superb. Effortless luxury, start to finish. We would love to return in the future!

Wonderful location. Used points for this stay. Loved the hotel. Didn't eat at the hotel except for the breakfast buffet on the day we left (50% off for Explorist). Clean room. Beautiful bathroom and powerful shower. Very quiet courtyard facing room, and I'm super noise sensitive. Would absolutely stay again.
