Still the best at the palatial Park Hyatt Paris

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 hours ago

If there is any equivalent of the adage “aging like fine wine” in the hospitality world, then it would definitely apply to the Park Hyatt Paris which has only become even more fabulous as time passes! Every time I think I have experienced the pinnacle of hospitality from your team, they top it the next time I stay - which is unfortunate for me as I keep holding other properties to the same sky high standards and few (if any) can match it! It’s like drinking a bottle of Chateau Lafite - except the Park Hyatt Paris is improving consistently with every vintage! Dario is a shiny gem at the hotel. He is a most charming and natural host. He was on hand to welcome us to the property when we arrived and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. It’s hard to find people who are passionate about hospitality (many see it as just another job) but it was obvious that he takes it upon himself to make sure his guests are always comfortable. It’s the little things: dinner recommendations, making sure we had our off-menu onion soup at Cafe Jeanne, getting us a side of mushrooms at breakfast - but they are the gestures that make up the whole of the Grande Dame of Place Vendôme! Of course Dario is just one member of your formidable team - from the bellmen who stand as sentinels on Rue de la Paix to the front office associates who serve as your welcome (and farewell) party to your guests, to the hardworking and meticulous housekeeping staff who keep our room spotless everyday. And of course the men and women who do battle every day at Cafe Jeanne facing the hordes of hungry guests at meal times. This is a team that delivers hospitality and not just provides service - and does a damn good job while they’re at it too! Speaking of Cafe Jeanne - breakfast was a treat every morning. The croissant and French Toast served at your restaurant has spoiled me for life and I don’t think I can ever enjoy these anywhere else! And we had a marvelous dinner service on our last night where - as promised by our server - the fish & chips were indeed better than any we have tasted in the UK. So to end, as Shakespeare said, parting is such sweet sorrow. We were really sad to leave but also happy in the anticipation of our next visit where I am sure we will yet again be surprised by another level of pampering by the fantastic team at the Park Hyatt Paris.

Need help, find Concierge Dominique!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

This is a stylish hotel perfectly located near the Place Vendome. It is close to the Galeries Lafayette, some wonderful restaurants and the Louvre. We found one of the top concierges in Paris when we met Dominique! Not only did he have fantastic dining recommendations but he beautifully wrapped some bolts of fabric to be checked on our flight home. He recommended Les Jalles, a delightful restaurant close to the hotel and escorted us there to make sure that we would not be charged a corkage fee for a very expensive bottle of champagne we had been gifted. Kind and jovial...he is full of insight as to what art exhibitions to see and what to pass on. The hotel is lucky to have him. If you need help, find Dominique! Our room was spotless and quite comfortable with beautiful linens, in keeping with Park Hyatt standards. The only negative was the construction going on at a nearby building which was somewhat noisy. The hotel is expensive, as are all of the five star hotels in Paris but...you get what you pay for!

Luxury and Perfection: Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We recently completed our stay at the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme, and to say it exceeded our expectations would be an understatement. Even when compared to the absolute best hotels in the world, the service here is unparalleled. From the moment we arrived until the moment we departed, every single detail was handled with flawless precision and deep care. It is a spectacular property that makes you feel like royalty from start to finish. The Pinnacle of Front-Of-House Leadership The level of constant attention to detail from the Duty Manager and the entire front management staff throughout our stay was unbelievable. They are highly visible, deeply attentive, and clearly dedicated to crafting a seamless, bespoke experience for their guests. Every interaction made us feel incredibly valued and welcome. An Elite Concierge and Flawless Housekeeping Every department at this hotel operates at the absolute highest level: The Concierge Team: Truly one of the best in the entire industry. Their connections and expertise are unmatched, effortlessly securing some of the hardest restaurant reservations in Paris for us without hesitation. Housekeeping & Service Staff: Spectacularly thorough and amazing. The room was kept in pristine condition, with an intuitive attention to detail that did not go unnoticed. An Unbeatable Location with Heartfelt Hospitality You simply cannot beat the location of this hotel—it puts the very best of Paris right at your doorstep. But what truly anchors the experience is the warmth of the people. Everyone here goes above and beyond to be friendly, attentive, and genuinely invested in making you feel like a king. To the entire management and staff at Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme, thank you for setting a new benchmark for luxury hospitality. My family and I cannot wait to return.

Sadly, a disappointment for a Park Hyatt

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I really wanted to like this place more. Being a Park Hyatt, I had higher expectations and this was a disappointment. The staff was cold and indifferent - the nicest people were actually the person who helped check me in (who was clearly someone in training, but perhaps that’s why he was nicer) and a random bellman who saw me trying to drag my bag up a few stairs and came in to help me. Other staff sort of stood around and looked snooty. Despite being a Globalist, I had to ask if breakfast was included and drag details about it out of the hostess. I’d blame this on stereotypical Parisian attitude, but I’ve stayed elsewhere in Paris and not gotten this kind of feeling of being judged or ignored. The room is a weird 90s-ish decor. If you’re into dark wood, carpeting, and odd little sculptures everywhere, this is the place for you. The shower/tub is oddly unseparated from the room itself, which wasn’t an issue for me staying solo, but might be weird for more than one person. (The toilet has a door.) I’m also pretty sure that housekeeping took a hand lotion from my pharmacy haul bag, but I’m going to go with the thought that maybe they really needed that $5 lotion more than I did. The last thing I was unfortunately surprised by was the breakfast. I’ve heard so much about how great it is, and honestly, it was meh. Having stayed at Hyatts in Prague, Vienna, and Budapest just prior, these were almost all superior in quality and variety to the one at Park Hyatt Paris. Both mornings, there were also multiple fruit flies on the food which they tried to unsuccessfully ward off with clove-studded citrus. I realize that it is hot and it is Paris, but again - for a Park Hyatt, I expected more. The service also seemed understaffed - it took a really long time for anyone to come by and take a coffee order. I booked this stay on points so ultimately I’m glad I tried it, but likely would not return and would probably be mad if I had paid cash for this stay.

Exceeded my expectations

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

This was my first Park Hyatt experience and it did not disappoint. For background info, I am a Globalist who's normal "nice" hotel maxes out at a Thompson, Centric, nice Regencies, and the rare Unbound Collection. I expected the Park Hyatt Paris to be very nice considering the name, location, and being a Cat 8 award night. I expected it to be a lot of things I didn't care for that made it a Cat 8 but I still wanted to try it and probably be a one and done as I can use my World of Hyatt Points much more frugally with other collections in the Hyatt portfolio. It exceeded my expectations. When arriving by taxi, the bell staff took our bags and held them at the concierge while we checked in. We were early (maybe 1pm) and no room was ready but that is fine. We went out for lunch, walked a bit and around 2:30 we got a text that our room was ready. We go back, check in, and the front desk then takes us to the room where I bags were already waiting for us. The room was the normal King room and it was all you could need for 2 people. The bathroom was fantastic, the room had tall ceilings and didn't feel cramped, had automatic black out curtains, a nice desk space to lay out our stuff, and a thoughtful welcome amenity was waiting for us. If I every build a house I will include some things from this bathroom. Never have I realized who nice a sink with heated mirror is in the shower! We went down to the spa to just unwind from our travel and enjoyed the hot tub, sauna, and steam room (all free for guests). The staff were lovely and also showed us the gym which we used another time (a bit small but better than 90% of hotel gyms out there). Breakfast the next morning (included as a globalist) was you standard European buffet but turned up a notch. All the offerings just seamed nicer, fresher, and of higher quality than the other hotels we stayed at on this trip (Hyatt Centric, a Hyatt Unbound Collection hotel, and Hilton Double Tree). Would I pay cash for it? No, but I don't think there is any hotel buffet Id pay cash for. Go enjoy a local restaurant if you have to pay! The night before we had the concierge order us a taxi to CDG and when we went to check out, the concierge brought our bags down and loaded them straight into our taxi which they had waiting for us. Overall, as someone who doesn't normally stay at the pinnacle hotel brands... the Park Hyatt Paris exceeded my expectations. I would use my points to stay here again for 1 or 2 nights if it is 45k points per night. With the recent Hyatt program devaluation you may struggle to find that rate but Iv checked and they still do exist. I am not in the correct tax bracket to pay cash.
