Great Location, But Not Worth the Price

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3/5 The location is excellent — on a quiet street and about a 10-minute walk to the Eiffel Tower. The room was clean and spacious, but both the room and bathroom felt very dated and are in need of a significant renovation. The bathroom was particularly disappointing and did not match the price point of the hotel. Unfortunately, the room lacked the charm and atmosphere I was hoping for during my stay in Paris. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit. Breakfast was average, with nothing particularly memorable. The hallways also had a noticeable odor at times. Overall, a great location, but I don’t feel the hotel offered good value for the money given the condition of the rooms and facilitie

2-Star at $800/night - Avoid

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

The property was listed on Bonvoy as with a 4.2 star rating. At 780 Euros, it seemed steep, but maybe the property was that good. Wrong Assumption. Just the opposite. Rooms are 20 years outdated and in poor condition… stained carpets, damaged furniture, torn curtains, etc. Service was nonexistent. Even for an Ambassador Elite guest. I had requested and been assured some vegan options for breakfast— none even after arriving and discussing and receiving assurance from the hotel management. Coffee/espresso order taking 20 min with excuses that “this is close, drinking instead.” Just a terrible hotel. Will not stay again.

The best hotel (and staff) you could possibly ask for!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I don’t often take the time to write reviews, but with this hotel I felt I absolutely must let you know how amazing of an experience we had. From check in to check out, we were treated like the upmost appreciated guests, I was so pleasantly surprised. Upon arriving, we were immediately met at our vehicle and had our bags swept away and safely stored, later brought up to our room. We didn’t have to worry about a thing. The check in process was extremely smooth, even though we arrived almost 8 hours before check in time. Our room was not ready, but not long after we were offered a courtesy room where we could rest and freshen up until receiving our actual room. I have never had a hotel offer such a thing before. The woman working the front desk, I wish I had gotten her name, was beyond wonderful, knowledgeable, accommodating, and communicative, as with the rest of the staff. We felt entirely cared for if not spoilt our entire stay here. If I had to make one suggestion, it would be that the restaurant show the same courtesy as the hotel. Although an absolutely stunning setting, the “vibe” was just “off”, in my opinion, compared to the ambience of the rest of the hotel. Staff was not quite as receptive and it made breakfast a bit less enjoyable. I’m sure it varies by experience, and I’m hopeful that others could have had a better one. Nonetheless, this shouldn’t take away from your stay at this beautiful property. I would highly, highly recommend a stay here, especially given the perfect location walkable to the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Champs Élysées, etc. Overall, a lovely spot for tourists or anyone looking for the perfect hotel in Paris.

Best to avoid

Good location near Eiffel Tower, although 20 minute walk. Hotel is created from several old buildings. We reserved several months ahead of time and had asked for a deluxe room. When we arrived - after check in time on reservation, we were told it would be about three hours before the room was ready as the current tenants were checking out late. Instead, we were given a room in a back building that had no elevator. To access, we had to walk a maze around a courtyard restaurant as the kept closing off access to the restaurant, which would have allowed a short, direct walk. The irony is that the restaurant wasn’t even open! The bed was worn out. Each morning I woke with a backache from sleeping in it. The 1/2 wall in the shower did not seal well to the tub, so the floor was essentially flooded every time we took a shower, unless we piped towels along the tub to catch the water. We had no problems with peeling paint, etc, as noted in some reviews, but this is not a place I’d recommend. Motel 8s in the US are better than this.

Disappointing Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

We recently stayed at this hotel at the beginning of our trip through France. We started with 5 days in Paris. We booked this hotel because we stayed here in 2022 and had a wonderful experience so we were looking forward to coming back. Unfortunately, our experience was not good. First was the check in process. While we were thanked for our Marriott loyalty (Platinum life time members), plus I made the reservation 9 months ago but we were informed that we were not able to be upgraded. The staff member acted like because we were paying with points (a LOT of points!), we were not eligible for anything. The room was small, old and in need of updating. Housekeeping was consistently late or nonexistent. The included breakfast was adequate but not up to the previous experience. One of our biggest disappointments was the garden. When we were there in 2022, we watched them build the new garden and stayed through the remodeling. We were looking forward to enjoying the garden. However, it is not for use by the hotel guests. It is a separate restaurant and a very expensive one at that. To the management of this hotel and to Marriott, I have been a loyal Marriott customer for over 20 years but I am seriously considering giving more of our travel business to other brands after this experience. We will not return to this hotel for future Paris visits.
