Inability to handle simple tasks and fake politeness that vanishes once the bill is paid: Unacceptable for the Ritz! ❌

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

As a loyal and regular guest of the hotel Ritz Paris, I am deeply shocked by the irresponsibility and total lack of professionalism displayed by one of the front desk employees during my recent stay. I asked for a very simple service: to charge my phone. It was returned to me twice almost dead, with the employee confidently claiming that "there was a problem with my phone." It was at that moment that I settled my bill. Just before leaving the establishment, I wanted to verify her claims and plugged the phone myself into the outlets located right next to the restrooms: it turned out that my device was working and charging completely normally! The most scandalous part was the employee's attitude when I returned to the reception to ask for an explanation. When I questioned her, she repeated once again that my phone had a problem and wouldn't charge. I then asked her where she had plugged it in, to which she replied: "Here, on the computer." I countered by telling her that I had just tested it myself by the restrooms and that it charged perfectly. I told her: "So I see my phone has no problem at all, and I would like us to verify this together by testing it here on your computer, right in front of you."She plugged it in, and seeing that it started charging immediately, she actually dared to tell me: "I am sorry, we cannot charge it now, you must unplug it in a minute." I then told her: "Not only are you telling me now that you cannot charge my phone—even though you offered to do so while I was still a guest about to pay—but you are also failing to explain why it didn't charge when you had it." Faced with this bad faith, I pointed out to her: "The phone charges just fine. You were the one here earlier, correct? So either you plugged it in incorrectly, or you didn't plug it in at all, contrary to what you claimed." Instead of apologizing, she stammered a pathetic excuse: "I don't know, there are many different people who come to charge their phones here, I don't know what could have happened...". I replied firmly: "Yet, you were indeed the one here. I do not appreciate your attitude at all." The issue here is twofold: on one hand, this unbearable hypocrisy where, as long as you are a paying guest in the establishment, they show you a facade of politeness, but the moment you settle your bill and prepare to leave, they refuse to assist you and treat you like a nobody. On the other hand, there is an absolute refusal to take responsibility for a mistake; instead of offering a simple apology, the staff resorts to evasive excuses to cover up their own negligence.

Life Changing Experience!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

You might be wondering, “how can a hotel be life-changing?“ But trust me when I say the Ritz Paris is truly an incomparable hospitality experience. Apart from the obvious… the iconic location, the history, the Hemingway bar, the restaurants, and the hotel lore, the Ritz deliver delivers on every other front that matters in a luxury hotel. We were treated like royalty when we arrived, everyone knew our name and acted as though we were the most important guests at the hotel. And we were only staying in a deluxe room for two nights. We checked in quickly and received the most informative and interesting tour of the hotel. A gigantic thank you to Ramy and Fanny in guest relations. I will never forget their warmth, kindness, and generosity. I think I’d go back just to see these two smiling faces because they made our trip so incredibly special. At every turn, from the restaurants and bars to housekeeping to the shops and concierge, the service was perfection. Every inch of the hotel seems to be cleaned constantly. It is the most pristine building I’ve ever seen. Our room was beyond anything we could’ve imagined. Everything is spotless, comfortable, luxurious, and clearly built to the highest standards. Every five star hotel should take note of the bathroom amenities provided at the Ritz, which included dental kits, hair combs and hairbrushes, premium shampoo, conditioner and lotion, shaving kits, nail kits, hair ties, Dyson blow dryer, high-quality steamer. Nothing is missing from this bathroom. We also received delicious sweets, both on arrival and as part of our housekeeping on the second day of our trip. Literally some of the best things we ate during our entire stay in France. And, of course, they gifted us a wonderful bottle of champagne. Room service is equally astonishing. I’ve never felt so pampered and spoiled. Worth every penny! I guess this is where capitalism really gets you. I suddenly have energy to keep working and keep making money so that I can keep returning to this magical oasis in the middle of Paris. This is the ‘life changing’ part 🤣. Thank you to the entire staff for giving us this exceptional experience, and making us feel very very special every minute during our stay. And thank you to the management team for taking exemplary care of this majestic property, and for taking care all of the employees who, in turn, take such good care of your very appreciative guests 🥰.

Unwelcoming service from staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We went to the bar with the girls and it was very disappointing, the waiter was very rude, hypocrite and indirectly told us to leave 3 times (1st: while still drinking our cocktails that were expensive for such a small drink, he put the bill on our table without us asking for it, which was very disrespectful, 2nd: he came up to us with the card machine asking if we want to pay card or cash in the middle of our conversation while we were still drinking our cocktail shots. Just to be clear, there were people at the bar, 3rd: at around 23:30, he directed us towards the taxis and told us they are closing soon and that we should take it into our consideration). Additionally, we were very quiet, respectful, nice and generous clients. At least the door man greeted us nicely and the bathrooms were very pleasant.

Little afternoon in Ritz for my 40 th birthday

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What a wonderful experience at the Ritz Paris! I am celebrating my birthday today, and from the moment I arrived at the beautiful garden café, I was made to feel incredibly welcome and special. The setting is absolutely stunning, elegant, peaceful, and everything you would expect from such an iconic hotel. A special thank you to my waitress, whose name I believe was Lorraine (or something very similar). Her kindness, warmth, and genuine attention made my day truly memorable. She acknowledged my birthday in such a thoughtful way and made me feel valued as a guest. The level of service was exceptional—professional, attentive, and heartfelt. This was my first visit to the Ritz Paris, and I am genuinely impressed. Experiences like this are what create lasting memories and inspire guests to return. I will certainly be back, and I highly recommend this beautiful place to anyone visiting Paris. Thank you for making my birthday so special!
