A perfect base for the stylish traveler, SO/ Paris has 162 elegant rooms and handsome suites spread between floors 7-14. On the walls hang exquisite paintings of life by the Seine, the bridges and roofs of Paris, and the romantic splendour of Sacré Coeur, the Bastille, the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame and the panoramic Parisian skyline.

We chose SO/ Paris to celebrate our anniversary and genuinely hoped it would become our preferred hotel in Paris. Instead, we left disappointed. The hotel is beautifully designed, the rooftop is spectacular and several members of the Guest Experience team were genuinely kind and professional. Unfortunately, the property is let down by poor operational management. Our anniversary dinner at Bonnie, despite written confirmations from both the restaurant and the hotel, went badly wrong. Housekeeping was inconsistent, the gym repeatedly lacked basic amenities, breakfast was not as described, and several other avoidable service issues occurred during our stay. None of these issues alone would justify a poor review. What disappointed us most was management’s response. We raised concerns while we were still at the hotel, giving several opportunities to recover the stay. Instead of taking ownership and turning the situation around, we received explanations, apologies and very little meaningful action. By the time any gestures were offered, our anniversary dinner had passed and the opportunity to make a difference had been lost. Luxury hotels are not judged by whether mistakes happen. They are judged by how they respond when they do. SO/ Paris has all the ingredients to be an outstanding hotel. Unfortunately, during our stay, it felt like a beautiful hotel that had forgotten the most important part of luxury hospitality: making guests feel genuinely cared for.

We had an unpleasant stay there. We were entitled to an upgrade for our two rooms that was not provided. Our room shower nearly overflowed when used due to poor draining. The AC didn’t cool very much. The coverage made a 7:30 dinner reservation for us at restaurant that didn’t open till 8. We had to wait outside in 101 record heat for it to open. We asked for a large cab for our departure and they ordered one too small. Then it took 20 min to get a new one because they were in no hurry to make up for their mistake. We almost missed our flight. A lot of the staff were rude and curt. The elevators have this never seen before setup where you can’t take the elevator down without using the room key and it’s impossible to visit family on another floor. One of the rooms had a bathroom with only clear glass separating it from the bedroom—no privacy! The hotel is pretty isolated from the usual sites in Paris.

Unfortunately, our experience with this hotel was disappointing. We accidentally booked the wrong night, and although changing the reservation was entirely at the hotel’s discretion, they were unwilling to make any accommodation. For a high-end property, we expected a greater level of flexibility and customer service. Their unwillingness to make an exception left us feeling unsupported and disappointed. Because of this experience, we would not choose to stay here again when visiting Paris.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My stay at SO/ Paris was so exceptional that I am returning just a few months later—this time with my son. The fact that I chose to come back says everything. I originally stayed at the hotel with my daughter, Georgia, and from the moment we arrived, the entire team made us feel like family. The beauty of the hotel is undeniable, but what truly sets SO/ Paris apart is its people. The kindness, warmth, professionalism, and genuine care from the staff made our mother-daughter trip feel incredibly special and created memories we will always treasure. A very special thank you to Domitille, Olary, Marta, Rebecca, and Jordan. Every one of them went above and beyond to help us—from thoughtful recommendations to making sure every detail of our stay was perfect. They treated us with such generosity and warmth that we truly felt at home. They all deserve a raise! In a world where exceptional hospitality can be hard to find, this team is something truly special. I cannot recommend SO/ Paris highly enough. It is not just a beautiful hotel—it is a place filled with extraordinary people who make your stay unforgettable. We cannot wait to return.

Elegant, modern, hotel within 5" walk of Sully Metro station. Located in quiet area of 4th Arrondissement overlooking the Seine River with views of Eiffel Tower, Sacre-Coeur, Pantheon domed tomb, Ile Saint-Louis with a peak of Notre Dame 9 (still under repair with scaffolding). Small but refined bar at the top with great views serving excellent but expensive (20 Euros) cocktails. Buffet breakfast with hot eggs or pancakes to order which was included in our booked rate.
