Second stay at Westin Vendome in a couple of years. My wife also stayed there during a state visit when it was the Intercontinental, which was in better shape. The staff is nice and accommodating, general ‘public’ areas are relatively well maintained, but that’s about it. This hotel definitely went downhill since our last visit a couple of years ago, and especially since my wife stayed there during her work trip a while back. What’s unfortunate is that most issues with that hotel are easy fixes (e.g. broken toilet seat, really cheap curtains and curtain rods that have no place in a hotel like this, dust and crumbs from previous guests). Not to say that it doesn’t need a bit of an overhaul, but it’s amazing how a clean room without crumbs on the couch and coffee table, dental floss on the carpet, or broken toilet seat with rotten wood in the bathroom will leave you with a lasting and positive impression. The good. Excellent location, across the street from the Louvre Museum and Place Vendôme. Depending on your room, the outside view is amazing (both times we were in a suite, so I can’t speak for other rooms). The bad. Room felt (and was) dirty. I really hate to say this because staff was nice and tried hard, but our room was consistently dirty. Hotel is run down, compounded by a lack of maintenance and cleaning service. Both full baths in our room were severely worn and degraded. This hotel has great potential. It has good bones and a strong foundation, but needs a facelift and a lot of care/maintenance. We will likely stay at Le Meurice next door during our next visit because the Westin isn't cheap, and I'm not sure it's worth the price anymore.

Loved the room. Very comfortable. The breakfast was AMAZING! Eggs to order, great buffet---no complaints. Breakfast seating and service was quick and attentive. Would definitely stay here again due to its location close to the metro lines and you can walk to the other side of the river on a foot bridge in just minutes. Our taxi driver said it is closing for a 3-year renovation next week.

Poorly lit lobby very old and poorly done up place. Dark and dingy feel as you enter the reception. When you zig zag and enter your room from the lift, the appearance of the room is of like a hostel bed. The only good thing is the balcony. But everything else is at just a stretch of a hand. There Aircon is from BC and takes the whole night to cool. The bar Tolliries (hopefully I have spelt the name correctly) is the good place. Overall experience was poor and unlike a Westin and a hotel with some stars.

My 10 year old daughter and I spent two nights here in March and had a wonderful experience. The location of the hotel is wonderful- walkable to the Louvre, the luxury shopping area of Place Vendome, and Maxim's. Many other top Paris sights easy to get to from here as well. The room was clean and comfortable, if a little small. We ordered room service for breakfast one day and it was punctual and tasty.

The Westin is located in the heart of the fashion district between the Louvre and the Place de la Concorde. It is a short walk from the Musee d’Orsay. The closest metro stop is less than 5 minutes to get anywhere in the city. Our room was South Southwest facing with sweeping views of the Eiffel Tower to the Louvre. The disadvantage to a street facing room is the traffic noise found in any large city. Some of the rooms face an interior courtyard and are very quiet. The staff and service are excellent. The front desk and concierge departments are as good as any hotel we have ever been to. There are certainly some deferred maintenance issue on the building but that is not surprising as it was built in 1878 as the Hotel Continental. My primary concerns about our room were the difficulty of getting in and out of the large slippery tub shower and the bed was not on par with other Marriott properties we have been to. The included breakfast was very nice.
