Reviews for Hyatt Centric Park City

Good Location, Very Disappointing Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I recently stayed at the Hyatt Centric Park City for a short ski trip. The location is good and convenient to the mountain, but the property itself feels dated and in need of updating. The real issue was how a middle-of-the-night emergency was handled. Fire strobes and alarms went off in my room due to a burst pipe. The in-room phone didn’t work, the front desk would not answer calls, and I had to run downstairs not knowing what was happening. Staff was dismissive and offered no apology or solution. I sat in the lobby for two hours and couldn’t get back to sleep, which ruined my final ski day. I understand that maintenance issues happen. Poor communication and lack of concern for guests is what earns this stay one star.

Amazing adjacency to Park City Sunrise Gondola...

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The Hyatt Centric is located in an amazing adjacency to the Sunrise gondola at Park City, literally steps away. The rooms are clean and relatively modern with all of the needed amenities including coffee maker, make up mirror, robes, mini fridge, toiletries and balcony. The hotel offers a valet service for ski equipment, which was a nice touch. The gym was great and the pool and hot tub looked very welcoming (although we didn't use). The lobby was cozy and warm with hot chocolate and infused water offered throughout the day. The restaurant needs some work though. Prices were way too high for what you got, including the breakfast buffet at $46 per person. The dinner menu seemed limited and not really family friendly. The gift shop could really use some love and attention too. I wanted to buy gifts but the selection was lack luster. Also, my son, who is constantly starving - had a difficult time finding good snacks.

Excellent stay with close proximity to the mountains

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Great location for snowboarding. The snow condition wasn’t great this year so ski in and out wasn’t available. But the sunrise gondola is only steps away from the hotel, which still made it super easy to get on the mountain. The one bedroom suite is well equipped with a full kitchen. Washer and dryer in the room were much appreciated. The hot tub was pretty big and close to the entrance of the building. The gym came with sauna and steam room. Service of the Frontdesk and restaurant staff was excellent. Thank you! One star taken off because I wish the hotel would have informed ahead of time, or on their website, that ski in and out wasn’t available due to snow conditions. I was bragging about the ski in and out to my travel companions so we were disappointed to find out at check in. Otherwise we had a great stay and had a great time even in the worst snow condition in 50 years.

Great Location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We stayed here for Sundance, and the location was excellent. They offer a daily shuttle to Main Street from 5:00–10:30 pm, which made it easy to enjoy the festival. The staff was mostly accommodating and attentive. The rooms were comfortable, very clean and spacious. Complimentary coffee was only available for 2 hours, which felt a bit short. We didn’t try breakfast, but it was convenient to have an on-site restaurant. The lobby had a nice ambience, we also enjoyed the game room. Overall, it was a great place to stay for the festival.

The easiest property to ski with kids hands down!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The location of this hotel could not be more perfect! You are literally steps from the gondola! It was the easiest ski in-ski out property we have ever stayed at! So close that your kids can even carry their own ski equipment to the lift! Not hauling your whole families skis because the walk is too far is game-changing! You are super close to all the action, but not so close that the Apres Ski DJ music can be heard from your room! We loved having a cocktail down in the main area and then retreating back to our quieter hotel! The staff was great and very accommodating! The breakfast buffet was delicious and the perfect way to start the day. We will definitely be back!
