They seem to struggle to keep their five star branding. The housekeeping has an attitude, the adjoining room next to us had marijuana smell which we were freaked out to be inhaling and we placed bath towels there which did not alleviate the odor enough. We did not want to complain out of fear of retaliation by these type of guests. The hotel should make this clear that this is not allowed and should have some ability to kick them out with complaints or at least a major fine. The ski locker team is declining too. They slap on your boots without adjusting and some act as if you are bothering them. The Troll Hallen restaurant needs better service and food. They are very nice overall and I hope they maintain their five star reputation.

I had wanted to stay here for years and we finally splurged and did it! And it was worth it. The room was cozy and comfortable, the breakfasts were sumptuous, and the dinners at Troll Hallen were excellent. We didn’t rent a car on this trip but there was no reason to leave the resort. The ski in/ski out capabilities and locker room made everything very convenient. Everything was great from check in to check out… except I sustained a very bad skiing-related injury. And I have to say, I have never felt more taken care of. Sebastian was wonderful and helped transport me from first aid back to my room, and then helped us get things from Walgreens in town. The numerous people from housekeeping who brought me bags of ice every 3 hours were so kind. Janet and others at breakfast were so genuinely so caring and inquired about my injury. When we got home, we received a get well letter from one of the managers. The hotel itself is beautiful with incredible amenities and we kept saying, ‘We are so spoiled now, and it’s going to be hard to stay anywhere else!’ But truthfully, it is the way they made us feel that will keep us coming back. And while skiing may not be in my future, I would still go back for the rest of my family to ski, or in the summer/fall. It was a gorgeous resort with a lot of soul.

This is the best place to stay in Utah, especially if you plan to ski at Deer Valley. The location is in the heart of Silver Lake Village. The ski valets are an incredible perk. The food is incredible, including the free skiers breakfast each morning. Everyone is super friendly. And the rooms have gorgeous views with fireplaces, crazy comfortable beds, etc. We stay here each year with our family and love love love it.

We splurged on a mountainside junior suite at the Lodge for a "girls" ski vacation. We were blown away by the outstanding service and felt spoiled. This ranged from Marie, our housekeeper, who took such care in her little touches cleaning our room, to Charlie who worked with his team to solve a little technical issue, to the ski valet team who put on my boots and set up my skis, to the drivers who dropped us off in Park city, and to the front desk team who welcomed us and was always responsive to our needs. Most impressive was on our final day when we were struggling carrying our boots and skis inside to pack away., "Dan (who introduced himself as the "chief driver) stepped in to help us move and pack up all our gear. He checked on us several times to make sure we had everything we needed. We later learned that Dan (Flick) was actually the Chief Operating Officer. The service culture clearly starts at the top and permeates down to all levels. We can't wait to return next year and be spoiled again.

absolute magic for the Christmas and New Year's holiday. I could see fireworks from my balcony on New Year's Eve. There was a menorah to mark the Hannukah nights, but also an absolutely gorgeous enormous tree, I decorated ornaments and cookies, I sat by mammoth hearths, trekked about in the snow and got warm again. Truly wonderful.
