Villa Toscana
4230 Buena Vista Drive
Paso Robles, California
I would highly recommend as many stores and eateries are within walking distance. The view of the mountains are stunning and our room had a balcony overlooking the pool. It was very clean and a great place to come "home" to. Definitely recommend as it's a good place to stay.

This stay was a huge disappointment. For over $500 a night, we expected a comfortable, well-run property. Instead, we got a tired room, zero service, and no amenities to speak of. There was no housekeeping at all during our stay. No fresh towels, no tidying, and we arrived to find the master bath wasn’t even stocked with basics like shampoo or soap. If you’re cutting daily service, the least you can do is make sure the room is ready. Maintenance issues were everywhere. The fireplace didn’t work. The master shower was useless—either a painful blast or barely a mist. The room phone blinked red constantly for phantom messages, lighting up the room at night. We had to cover it with a towel just to sleep. All of this was reported to the front desk. Nothing was done. There’s nowhere onsite to eat or grab a drink, and breakfast was dismal—watery eggs and canned fruit every morning. The pool was small, dirty, filled with leaves, and had no towels available. Rooms are so far from the main building you have to drive just to eat. And to top it off, we were charged $20 a night for basic off-street parking. Staff felt completely disengaged. No acknowledgment of loyalty status. No follow-up on any issue raised. Nothing about this stay felt warm, welcoming, or worth the money. Save your money—this place is all price tag and no payoff

Our family of 4 (15 and 12 yo) stayed 4 nights in a Villa near the creek. The staff was warm and welcoming. While the villa was a touch outdated it did not diminish the enjoyment of our stay. The gas fireplaces in the primary bedroom and family room were so cozy in the evening and hearing the creek with our door open was a treat. The clubhouse facilities are a great addition, although our busy days did not allow us to enjoy them beyond our quick peek around. One item to note - the pull-out sofa mattress is horrible. Our daughter can sleep anywhere at any time and even she complained about sleeping on it. This does need to be rectified for the price of the unit. At the very least, pillow toppers need to be offered to guests - metal springs are all but sticking out of the mattress. On a closing positive note, the to-go breakfast option was a saving grace for us as we were up hiking early to avoid the crowds. The last morning we were there, the kind woman at the front desk had not received a note from the evening shift about us needing the to-go box... but she anticipated our needs and had them ready anyway! I feel awful that I cannot remember her name - but she made us feel thought of and cared for so early in the AM. The speciality coffee machine in the lobby was a family favorite as we headed out for our hikes as well! Location is truly a gift - we just walked into town for dinner or shopping; when my husband and I were not ready to leave, the kids just walked back on their own so we all were happy campers. I would highly recommend this location and property to families, especially with teenagers! Happy Hiking!

We stayed here during a busy time with loud neighbors, so it was not the best experience and despite paying a good amount for parking, we had trouble finding a spot a couple times. The hotel however has great views (the higher the floor, the better - but only if you do not have to rely on the elevator) and it is in a great location to walk to shops and restaurants. We also were there on a rainy/snowy day. We had gone for a morning hike that left us chilled to the bone, but we warmed up in the resort’s lovely hot tub and sauna.

This hotel’s best feature is that it’s fairly close to restaurants and bars. It’s a very dated hotel in need of renovation and the price they charge is ridiculous. The faucet on the sink wasn’t properly secured and could be lifted off of the porcelain sink. Also, the shower handle was loose, and I felt it would fall off every time I turned it between hot and cold. The Internet was spotty at fast and I had to turn it off and use my cellular connection. Lastly, the lighting in the hotel room is inadequate.
