Don Los Cerros Boutique Hotel & Spa
El Chalten
Patagonia, Argentina
We stayed at Los Cerros del Chaltén for a couple of nights, and it ended up being the best hotel of our entire 16 days in Argentina. The attention to detail and exceptional customer service truly stand out. We actually booked through a third party that canceled our reservation and tried to keep our money. I reached out to the hotel directly, and even though I hadn’t originally booked with them, and none of it was their mess to fix, they helped sort everything out quickly and kindly. The hotel is quiet, spotless, and incredibly comfortable. The staff is wonderful, they bring water to your room before bed, breakfast is delicious, and their dinner and wine selection is fantastic. I’m 100% staying here again the next time I’m in El Chaltén.

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. It is a "treat" kind of place at around €450 per night but that also includes a nice breakfast and spa. The staff are very friendly and helpful and they give great tips for walks etc. They also have an onsite "expert" who can advise on the walks for free. It is a superb base for the hikes and about 10 minutes walk to the starting point of the main routes (Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre). The view from the hotel of the mountain and lakes is genuinely breathtaking. The breakfast is also nice. The rooms are nice albeit you don't really get "the view" from them. The hotel does go the extra step in some areas, e.g chocolates and hiking "balaclava" in the room and they gave us a gift for getting engaged (many hotels actually charged us). Some nice touches. The little spa area is very nice but it is a little annoying you have to book this for a slot but I guess this ensures a more private experience. My only negative point is the road leading up to the hotel is not finished and is very dusty and stony without footpaths. It slightly takes away from the classy hotel and they should do something about it (albeit it might be a local council thing?). Irrespective, very classy.

My husband and I stayed at Los Cerros del Chalten for our anniversary trip at the end of October. I must say that they really surprised us with exceptional service and hospitality. First, even before we arrived, they communicated well. They replied my husband's inquiry of late check in right away. After the long drive from Torres Del Paine, it was very comforting to arrive to a friendly smile at reception. Room was very clean and much spacious than I expected with a walk-in closet and a separate bath tab. So many good things, but two of the bests are trekking advisor and restaurant service. After the hard climb in TDP, we contemplated not to attempt Fitz Roy base hike. However, Ignacio gave us an advice to start from El Pilar side. We were so glad as the climb was much easier under the tree shade with no one else on the trail until where we merge onto the main trail at the camp ground. Our legs were so fresh for the last push to make the climb much more pleasant. He, also, helped my husband load the app, so we won't get lost. As for the restaurant, service was excellent and definitely exceeding my expectation in the small town. While being polite and professional, the servers and manager were very warm and friendly. They gave us a great wine recommendation on the first night and gave us a complimentary glass to try different local variety on the second night. Food was delicious with good volume, also. Other hotel highlights are the view, the bar, etc. I am glad that we selected this hotel and we highly recommend to anyone who are planning to visit awesome town of El Chalten.

My husband and I were fortunate that our tour company chose Los Cerros del Chalten for our 4 night stay in this gorgeous part of Patagonia. Our Superior Room was spacious, with lovely linens, comfortable beds, a great shower/tub and plenty of storage space. And the view out the large window was to die for!! The location right in town made hiking and dining out so convenient. And while we didn't need to take advantage of it, we were impressed that they had a local guide available to guests every afternoon/evening to provide advice on hikes and activities. The entire hotel (public bathroooms, breakfast/dinner area) was immaculately kept and the staff were friendly and well-trained. Sadly, we had to cut our stay short in order to return home to a dying parent. Mariano, the GM, could not have been more compassionate and kind when he learned that we might have to leave. Nothing was too much trouble and you could tell he and his staff were truly sympathetic to our situation. He even inquired of our friends if we made it home safely and in time to say goodbye. Just so lovely that there are still people around the world who connect compassionately no matter what their job. I highly recommend this hotel to all!!

10/10. Beautiful stay. Great bar, great location, and first class service. Big thanks to Fredrico, who was one step ahead of us at all times. Ignacio the trekking guide was incredibly helpful as well. Great bar, and one of the best Aperol spritz's I've ever had. Best breakfast of any of the three hotels we stayed in in all of Argentina. Great location wise, spa area very clean. Thank you to all the amazing staff!
