Reviews for Poets Cove Resort & Spa

Dirty and over priced.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Stayed in a self contained cottage on the property for 3 nights at a cost of $2300. Completely over priced and definitely not a 4 star resort - although it has the potential. Rooms were dirty - carpets, couches and out door furniture were covered in stains and pet hair. There is no housekeeping for longer stays. There is no staff besides a receptionist who is disinterested in life and may not actually have a pulse. There are two pools which could be nice if they were clean and open (the main large pool was closed for 2 out of 3 days of our trip). “Staff quarters” are filthy caravans surrounded by beer cans and drug paraphernalia. Don’t waste your money or time - this place is not worth it at all.

Poets Cove- the best resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I have been staying at Poets Cove for over 15 years for my daughters birthday in the spring & my birthday in the fall. We love it there! It is a beautiful resort & the staff are very helpfull, especially Illia the front desk manager. I have mobility issues & exceptionally helpful with booking appropriate accommodations for me. Looking forward to coming there again soon.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Absolutely appalling. This resort is barely holding on. There is no food from 11 am till 5 pm so you have to leave the resort to eat. They cater to the boaters and islanders so the pools are filled with people from those groups hotel guests are very secondary. There is no pool maintenance so the pools are filthy and the grounds are treacherous. There is no AC in the rooms. And the best part the second last night I pulled back my sheets to find fresh blood on them, which is not acceptable, and of course there is no one there at that hour to help out so your screwed. The only good thing Will say is that the food is great when they manage to get your order correct, the hotel needs shut down. Seriously go somewhere else.

60th birthday celebration

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

We rented the 3 bedroom villa, two 3 bedroom cottages and two king lodge rooms for 17 adults and 2 children. Some decor is a bit worn and there are some small quirks in the cottages and villa but the beds and linens are new and comfortable. The kitchens and bathrooms are spotless. The views are wonderful and the landscaping is lovely. We had breakfast in the Aurora and dinner in Syren's. The staff in both were efficient and very personable. We were all impressed with the food and the service (and keep in mind there were 19 of us all at once). We worked around the road closure and it was not an issue. I organized the successful two day family celebration with the help of Ilia (accommodation), Christine (Front Desk) and Chrystal (food service). Thank you. Many of us plan to return in the future. Highly recommend.

Very disappointed.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 8 months ago

We were really looking forward to visiting this resort. We stayed in a 2 bedroom cottage and we were really disappointed in the cleanliness and condition of the furniture. There were stains on the carpet, couches, the wood furniture has discolouration. The shower had mold, cobwebs were everywhere, think layers of dust and one of the beds smelled like smoke. We were not told about the road closure and only found out when we arrived. The restaurants weren’t open when they said they would be. We would not come back, especially for the price we paid. The fully stocked kitchen didn’t even include a corkscrew or frying pan. The place is run down and some of the pathways aren’t lit in the dark.
