Our recent stay at Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo was truly magical. The location is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by lush nature and wildlife, and the entire staff was incredibly friendly, warm, and helpful throughout our stay. One of the most special moments was relaxing in the infinity pool while watching howler monkeys in the trees nearby — such a unique and unforgettable Costa Rica experience. We stayed in the 2-bedroom villa for four adults, and the approximately 1,500 sq. ft. layout felt very spacious and comfortable. The fully equipped kitchen was also a huge convenience, allowing us to prepare our own breakfasts and a few dinners during the trip. Overall, it was a peaceful, memorable stay that perfectly balanced luxury, comfort, and nature. We would absolutely love to return.

First-class location, amenities, and staff. Its proximity to the airport is an extra benefit. My wife and I came with our two daughters in their 20s, and we didn't want to leave.

I cannot rave enough about the amenities of Andaz Papagayo but what stands out the most is the attentiveness of the staff and their warmth. I'll just list the highlights - complimentary snorkeling on the property, yoga in an open air pavilion surrounded by tropical trees, butterflies and colorful birds, exceptional spa with a hot pool by the cold plunge, infinity pools large overlooking the bay and a beautiful beach bar a quick boat shuttle ride away. The architecture blends so well with the jungle-like environment (vines hanging from huge trees, huge boulders everywhere), that it doesn't feel like a chain hotel. The only complaint I have is the food - for the price you pay, I think they could do better with the authenticity of the recipes. We tried 3 different restaurants and were surprised - the freshness is not in question, however the flavors are not quite we expected. For example, the pad thai dish and the rice dish we ordered at Ostra had tofu that seemed to have been marinated in lime juice, as they were very sour. And we had Italian at Gaio - the risotto was an appetizer size, even though it was considered a main dish and again made in a red sauce, which I don't think I've ever had in any high end Italian restaurants I've ever eaten at. I feel a little picky saying all of this -but if we're paying "gourmet" prices I expect higher standards. We also ate at Chao Pescao which featured dishes from all around South America. We tried the jerk chicken and that was like chicken pieces dipped in bbq sauce. AGAIN, the food was ok but they just didn't meet our expectations for a Hyatt brand hotel. We do a lot of fine dining and if we are going to pay high prices for fine dining then our expectations are going to be high. So, other than the food - Andaz have met or exceeded our expectations in terms of accommodations, ambiance, sustainability measures, and staff efficiency and friendliness.

Our stay at the Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo was absolutely amazing. We spent several days enjoying everything the resort has to offer, great atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, and excellent service from the staff, who were always friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding throughout the resort, and I definitely recommend trying the ceviche, it was one of our favorite dishes during the stay. There are plenty of activities to enjoy inside the hotel like kayaking, snorkeling, biking, and relaxing by the beach or pool, so you’ll never run out of things to do. For tours outside the resort, I highly recommend Nomadtourscr. They are locals who truly know Costa Rica and take you to authentic places, from waterfalls to hot springs and cultural spots. Everything was very well organized, prices were fair, and the experience felt very personal and trustworthy. Overall, a perfect mix of luxury, adventure, and local experience. Would definitely come back!

This was one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. From the kind staff, to the thoughtful touches in the rooms… water bottles, snacks, hats and flip flops. The food was absolutely amazing. We ate at all of the restaurants and were never disappointed. Sunscreen available at the pool, snacks brought around every once in a while, rides available at a moments notice to anywhere on the property. Snorkel gear available at the beach and enough pool and beach chairs to swat absolutely everyone. Amazingly comfy beds, gorgeous views, wildlife everywhere. 10 out of 10 experience!
