Andaz Peninsula Papagayo Resort, Costa Rica

The Andaz Peninsula Papagayo is a truly unique and beautiful property. The rooms are gorgeous, the setting feels wonderfully close to nature, and the beaches are stunning. The staff throughout the resort were consistently warm and friendly, and we also thoroughly enjoyed the dining. Our family especially loved the convenient access to the water park. The complimentary shuttle to other properties on the peninsula was another great benefit, giving us the option to venture off-property for an occasional dinner. Beautiful, distinctive, and thoughtfully designed—this property is a real winner.

Andaz is a beautiful place, We loved how the property blends into the natural surroundings, with the mountains, ocean, tropical landscape, and wildlife all around you. The design is modern but still feels connected to Costa Rica, and there are so many beautiful spaces throughout the property to relax and enjoy the views. The room was spacious, comfortable, very clean, and thoughtfully designed. The service was also excellent, and everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful. The hotel was quite busy during the weekend, but after that it became much quieter and we really enjoyed the peaceful feeling of the property. One of the things we appreciated was being able to ask about activities outside the property. Someone at the hotel recommended Nomad Tours Costa Rica, which turned out to be a great recommendation. Gabriel offered competitive prices and arranged private transportation for us with José as our guide. José was fantastic and shared so much information about the wildlife, the area, and Costa Rican culture. We enjoyed a sloth-watching tour, waterfalls, and a coffee tour, which added a completely different side to our stay. If you're looking for a beautiful resort surrounded by nature, with excellent service and plenty of opportunities to enjoy Costa Rica beyond the hotel, the Andaz is a wonderful choice. We had a fantastic stay and will definitely be back.

Our family had an amazing experience at the Andaz during our recent trip to Costa Rica. We can’t say enough about the property and the staff. Here are some of the highlights our family loved: 1. The property is beautiful with easy access to a private beach and lots of different water activities including kayak, SUP, jet skis, water bikes. The pools were also beautiful. We saw plenty of monkeys on property close up with armadillos and iguana sightings as well. 2. The concierge service was wonderful. They spent time with our group to help us book several excursions including a private boat tour, monkey golf cart tour and snorkel tour. They couldn’t have been more responsive and helpful. 3. The property is equipped with three restaurants . We loved all three. The breakfast buffet was also great. 4. The property has a free shuttle to visit other properties on the peninsula if you want to visit the Four Seasons or the Ritz for dinner. 5. There are golf carts available to help you navigate the property if need be. It is quite hilly but we enjoyed getting our steps in and exploring the grounds. 6. Each of the staff members were friendly and went out of their way to serve you. They could not have been friendlier. If you’re considering staying here… don’t hesitate!! You will not be disappointed. My husband and I celebrated our 26th anniversary at the Andaz Papagayo and had a great experience. We really wanted to unplug and relax with just a couple of activities. We did the Chorotega Walk with our guide, Melanie, and liked hearing some of the history of the area, seeing artifacts, and learning about some of the animals. We also took a fun class with Chef Luis at CHAO PESCAO and learned to make tasty empanadas. I appreciated the relaxed Reiki session with Yari and we both tried out the spa sauna, warm pool, and cold plunge. The friendly staff at the Andaz is excellent - very warm and outgoing people. Everyone was always willing to bring anything you might need or give you a golf cart ride to your next destination. The breakfasts at Gaio were very good and we were regularly entertained by the birds and the monkeys each morning. If you are looking for a truly relaxing vacation with exceptional service, book your stay at the Andaz Papagayo!

Andaz hotel has much to offer with friendly professional staff, its surroundings, and culinary delights. Our family enjoyed various land and water activities at the nearby Nacascolo beach and the Papagayo water park. The hotel also has several outdoor workout areas, and one wonderfully equipped indoor gym.   If you are a traveler who struggles with dietary issues, then let me share with you my experience:  Breakfast: buffet with many fresh fruit, veggies, wide variety of usual breakfast options, and prepared local food that will satisfy all tastes and needs. It also provides endless entertainment - morning visits from the capuchin monkeys.  For lunches and dinners there are several restaurants, each with nice atmosphere that offer carefully crafted dishes from traditional to more international (Latin American, Caribbean, Asian, and Italian). The restaurants are directed by an accomplished chef Matías Coullery, and managed by his outstanding staff. From the wonderful hostesses at the restaurant reception, to the person who delights us with each dish at the table. Interacting with each person has been such a pleasure! I have asked during my first day if adjustments could be made to my meals and right away Gaio restaurant’s chef Johan was called to assist. Not only has he assured me that it wasn’t be a problem but took on an initiative and surprised us with a delicious freshly baked special focaccia (which my family will miss immensely once we leave). Each meal has been a treat - fresh carefully harmonized ingredients that that delight all senses! The hotel rooms may need a bit of updating, but the people who work here are five stars!
