Andaz Peninsula Papagayo Resort, Costa Rica

We were a family of four with two kids, 6 and 12, and honestly, we had such a great time at the Andaz Papagayo. The property is beautiful, the pools were a big hit with the kids, and the food was amazing. My kids completely fell in love with Costa Rica. We also want to give a big thank you to Gabriel from Nomad Tours Costa Rica. Since the hotel is a little away from everything, we booked a couple of tours with him before our trip. We did the Buena Vista Adventure with the kids and a safari boat tour to see some wildlife. Both were great and everything went smoothly. Gabriel was also really helpful when we needed to find some medicine at a pharmacy. It was nice having someone we could contact who was willing to help with those little things too. I normally don’t go back to the same place twice, but I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if we come back to the Andaz. Next time, we’d love to add La Fortuna to the trip. Costa Rica definitely won us over! 🇨🇷

Excellent vacation with my family. From the property design, experiences, and dining, we felt like we were in paradise. We cannot wait to return. We travelled with our 3 kids (5,8,10) and they had a magical time. Recommend all activities, pool, restaurants, and spa.

I recently stayed at Andaz Peninsula Papagayo and had an incredible experience from start to finish. The natural beauty of the resort is absolutely breathtaking, and the grounds are stunning, but what truly sets this property apart is the hospitality and the people who work here. Our check-in experience at the front desk was top-notch and immediately set the tone for a great stay. Alex, one of the bellmen, was incredibly professional and helpful. He assisted us with our luggage to our room and even gave us some great recommendations for things to do and see while in Costa Rica. His genuine hospitality was greatly appreciated. The restaurants were also excellent, and we had several memorable dining experiences. Stiven/Steven and Francisco were both fantastic servers. They were attentive, personable, and even remembered our names throughout our stay, which was a small but meaningful touch that really stood out to us. As a Hyatt employee myself, I especially appreciated how welcoming the team was. Emily, the manager on duty, was extremely kind and made a point of acknowledging that I was a fellow Hyatt employee. She went out of her way to make sure our stay was seamless, and that personal touch made me feel genuinely valued as part of the Hyatt family. The bar experience at Ostra was another highlight. Ethan and Jose-Carlos were amazing bartenders and provided some of the best service we experienced during our stay. Ethan even invited us behind the bar to make a drink with him, which was such a fun and unique experience that we will remember. Jose-Carlos also made one of the best espresso martinis I’ve ever had! Overall, Andaz Peninsula Papagayo is an absolutely beautiful resort surrounded by incredible nature. However, it is the hospitality, attention to detail, and genuine care from the employees that truly make this property deserving of its five-star reputation. A huge thank you to Alex, Stiven, Francisco, Emily, Ethan, and Jose-Carlos for making our stay so memorable. Their service is a perfect example of what exceptional hospitality should look like.

Beautiful property, attentive staff, impeccably maintained grounds. The wildlife was a highlight — monkeys joined us for breakfast most mornings, plus armadillos, deer, and iguanas around the property. Amazing views, good food throughout. Location is a bit out of the way and excursions cost more because of it, but 100% worth it. Highly recommend!

Pros: Amazing plunge pool suite. Best room ever. Super clean, lots of snacks and water. Microwave, minibar, free popcorn etc. Great food everywhere. The crushed ice, also the best ever. Clean pools, no need to reserve or fight for loungers. They are always available. So relaxing, can take the boat across to the beach house. It’s a nice ride but can get crowded over there. Nice little kids waterpark area that’s shared with the ritz and four seasons. Cons: Very expensive. No entertainment anywhere. No shows, no lounge, nothing. There’s one bar area and that’s it. Restaurants must be booked in advance. Remote, not close much.
