Andaz Peninsula Papagayo Resort, Costa Rica

Andaz exceeded all of our expectations. The customer service was exceptional, and during our stay we saw around 20 howler monkeys, iguanas, deer, and many species of birds right on the property. The beach was calm, never felt crowded, and had a very relaxing atmosphere, We used Gabriel from Nomad Tours Costa Rica for our transfer from Nayara to Andaz. He recommended stopping at Río Celeste and a private sloth reserve, making the most of our travel day. After renting a car in Peninsula Papagayo, we also booked his Self-Drive Tour. Gabriel created a personalized itinerary with the best beaches, waterfalls, scenic viewpoints, local restaurants, and hidden gems, allowing us to explore at our own pace with the confidence of having expert local recommendations. We highly recommend Andaz to anyone looking for a peaceful, nature-filled getaway, and we also recommend Gabriel for anyone who wants to experience the very best of Costa Rica.

What an experience! We traveled with 8 family members from 18-85. There was something to love for everyone on the trip, and we took in a bit of all that the Guanacaste region had to offer. The staff is fantastic and knowledgeable. There's a lovely mix of dining experiences to enjoy on property with mature and less sophisticated options to satisfy most palates.

Excellent ambience, food and people. Everyone was always friendly, worked hard to accommodate and the facility was well maintained at all times. This was the first time I tried room service at Andaz and both the food and service was amazing.

The Andaz at Papagayo is one special place. We walked into our room and were hit with a gorgeous ocean view and breeze. The showers have a floor to ceiling door that open up to the outer deck. But the wellness was the secret feature that I was so happy to ah e experienced. I had the most incredible experience with Eliza at a 6am meditation kayak where it was just the two of us. And she brought her singing Bowles and were on the calm waters and it helped create a magical vibration that was almost calling out the animals and flying fish ! I also did a sound healing session with Eliza on the yoga deck and she placed the so many different instruments around my body and played them like the frequency was connecting into me! I also did a massage, reflexology and facial on the spa which was lovely. The best treat for me was the cold plunge pool and hot tub. I did this daily and it was such a god reset for the nervous system. The restaurants are all good with my faves being Chao Pescao ( more like a cantina with great tapas and drinks) and Ostra. We also ate at the 4 seasons which was an excellent dinner at Pesce. The beach club is worth checking out and fun to do for a lazy day. Our family spent four nights here and we wuss defiantly come back ! Make sure to book a session with Eliza!

Fantastic in every way. Service, beauty, cleanliness, grounds, location, safety. It checks all the boxes. Can't wait to return.
