Nekajui, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve

Absolutely one mine and my wife's best experiences on vacation. It was beautiful, amazing pools, amazing food and fantastic staff. If you are lucky to have Wilson as your Manzu, Hector serving you by the pool and Luis behind the bar, you will have an amazing experience! Shout to them and all the staff. We were there for four days and stay on the property or close by the whole time. Can say enough about this place.

What an amazing experience! It was our anniversary and they made sure it was special. I am trying to pinpoint what made this resort stay so special and I keep coming back to the service. They pay such attention to detail, that it makes some of our other luxury experiences pale in comparison. But I also think it has to do with Costa Rican culture. Just to give you an example, maintenance had to come to fix our door. They left a note apologizing for the inconvenience and a chocolate toolbox. At one point it rained heavily and we were headed to dinner, Salvadore road the golf cart up on the sidewalk so we could get in without getting wet. The manager, Ingrid, met with us and made sure everything was going well, and wanted feedback. Since it was our anniversary, at the spa they did something really special and drew us bubble baths with champagne for us to relax in the bath and watch the sunset after our session. While we were there, the beach club was closed, but I will still give it five stars. You have to know that it is Costa Rica, so the beach isn’t massive and pristine like a Cancun or Florida beach. It’s a very natural setting and the Nekajui Reserve is designed to give you a cultural/luxury experience. Included in your stay are workshops, nature walks, yoga classes, vibration relaxation, some beach activities, and access to the most accommodating service we’ve seen in years. Our team, led by Johan, was there to assist us in any way. The breakfast was amazing. Andrea, Luis, and Jennifer were amazing! We booked through Amex, so it was included in our stay, and the restaurants do a great job making sure you enjoy your dish. They will even customize it for your taste. Puna is Peruvian, and Javier explained to us his favorites and the cultural significance of each dish. There are three pools, we enjoyed the spa pool because it wasn’t crowded, and you can still have cocktails and order food- while using hydrotherapy, the hot tub, sauna, and cold plunge. Without hesitation, I recommend this experience…and we will be back!

As a Ritz‑Carlton Reserve property, Nekajui delivers far more than fancy facilities. Yes, the design is luxurious, and it beautifully honors local Costa Rican culture, geography and heritage. But what truly sets this resort apart is its incredible team of people. Words can hardly describe how outstanding every single member of staff is. Our group chat with Enrique and his team was absolutely exceptional. Every single request or question we raised during our stay was handled efficiently and thoughtfully. Beyond Enrique’s group, we received wonderful care from doormen, restaurant servers, dining team, engineers and every staff member we crossed paths with. Many of them remembered our names, even though we could not recall most of theirs. The food across all restaurants is fantastic, the views are breathtaking, rooms are gorgeous, and the whole resort balances high‑end luxury with authentic local culture perfectly. This is not merely a hotel to sleep in; this resort itself is the travel destination. It is hard to imagine finding a better place. This has truly been a flawless, perfect trip. Highly recommend to everyone.

I never write reviews, ever, and I have stayed at some of the most fabulous resorts throughout the world, including several other ritz reserve properties. But this one has compelled me to do so, and I can honestly say this resort is something special, and not having to traverse the globe to access it makes it extra special. The attention to detail, the views, facilities, and butler service is top notch. Esteban and Daniel anticipated every need. We were able to truly relax which is so rare, and any minor needs or mishaps had phenomenal service recovery. We cannot wait to return back to this resort and feel blessed it is so close! Many thanks to the wonderful staff for making this trip truly noteworthy.
