Few things foster seclusion and exclusivity more than a private island. This is what makes Portofino Island Resort & Spa a sublime escape. Just a few miles from the historic downtown of Pensacola on the western tip of the Florida panhandle, this coastal barrier island offers refined comforts in a casual, relaxed atmosphere. Spacious two- and three-bedrooms suites boast balconies that gaze across the Gulf of Mexico and Pensacola Bay, while the Terracotta Dining Room takes full advantage of the setting, serving fresh local seafood with Santa Rosa Bay views.

I was charged $1450.00 to cancel my reservation. The final price contained $1200 in addition to tax and room fees. I immediately canceled but was only offered a partial refund, only 50% of the transaction. I cancelled the room within 3 minutes of making the reservation. Prices are misleading. I lost significant money for never staying at the resort. Shameful.

This place is a paradise. You don't even have to leave the property to enjoy a full vacation, although we did explore Pensacola and take advantage of lots of activities off the grounds. The spa experience was awesome. My wife and I had a very relaxing couples massage. We took advantage of the extreme package offering access to all of the activities and did it all! The Jet Skis were a lot of fun, the kid enjoyed the water park and the beach was beautiful. White sands and clear water. This is one of the best vacations we have ever had and would definitely recommend.

The unit we stayed in at the resort was wonderful - clean and had beautiful views. The resort itself was not worth the price. The staff was rude and unhelpful, the grounds are not well-kept (especially the pool areas), and the restaurants are mediocre at best. The resort will also nickel & dime you. We paid for the most expensive "adventure package" for the week - and they still charge additionally for small things like using a tennis racquet on the tennis courts - not great for customer service. Would not return for another trip.

The perfect option for travel in the FL panhandle. Our condo was well-appointed, a great view, and the property is well-maintained. We utilized the pool at our tower as well as the main pool complex. Food was about what we paid eating out at other restaurants in the area. We stayed there during “low season” and it was perfect. The beach is across the street and the property has a lot of entertainment options on the property… Waverunners, Boat Tours, Golf cart rental, etc…. We will be returning next year

This is THE best place to stay on Pensacola Beach! Don’t forget to book Melissa De Valcourt Photography in advance! She comes highly recommended by the resort, is local and knows all the best places to visit and dine. Pensacolabeach-photographer.com
